You don't just follow the president or formal president around without being noticed. Everyone says "why didn't they search the area?" My question on the other hand is how did this man even know about something private like this? I mean he was sitting there waiting so he had to have found out some how that he was going to be there. I can't just see this guy assuming he was gonna be at this exact spot out of almost anywhere in America or even the world. Maybe I missed some information but I really question how he even knew where to go

Those darn assault style weapons . We know that if this guy owned a bolt action rifle he would have never tried this. I have a few semi automatic rifles and I literally have to keep them locked in a safe or they might get out and cause harm while I’m sleeping.
Edit: how dare those 30+ states just allow their citizens the right to openly carry a weapon to protect themselves.
It’s clear that this attempted shooter didn’t know he wasn’t allowed to have a firearm so instead of the secret service shooting at him they could have just walked up and reminded him he wasn’t allowed to have the weapon by law and surely after being reminded of that he would have handed over his rifle and surrendered.
