This blew my mind when I clicked on the video. I have a 318 with the exact same seat setup on mine for my son!

This is one of the best diy trommel setups I’ve seen. The culvert seems well suited for the job.

Love how you have the 2nd 318 setup with the hydraulic motor spinning the trommel

My son and I were watching this video. Love the 318 John Deere’s. But my son was wondering that maybe you could rig up a conveyer where you dump the stuff in from the tractor. Conveyer would haul the stuff into the rotating screen in stead of you shoveling it in. And you could continue to bring material to it with the tractor. Great system. Thanks.

Hello I worked in quarry running a crusher and screening plants to separate the crushed stone. One plant was set up to make topsoil mixing dirt, sawdust, manure, and sand.
I was thinking of getting one of the old screening plant screen a make a small shaker screen at home to make topsoil and screen stones out of the dirt that I acquired. But I like your Tumbler better and easier to make then the shaker screen. It looks like you used a 18” culvert to make the tumbler edges. I was wondering what screen size you used for it?

Yeah I tried a shaker type setup and it didn’t work as well.
I used roughly 3/4” expanded metal on this one

Only thing you’re missing is the sluice box coming out the back, add a little water and you’ll be mining gold!

How did you make the trommel?

Cont’d. Caster wheels run in the ribbed part of culvert.

did you design your front loader yourself? If yes, can you share more details?

@@jsnell909 I saw that and really liked it! It's great to have one of your children along while you work. Many moons ago My son would come along with me on side jobs, great times they were. Keep up the good work.
