It's funny back in 2015 I never would of thought I would listen to metal like this but thanks to (in the order that I discovered them) sabaton, powerwolf and tyr I listen to mainly metal specifically power metal but some folk and viking metal as well

The unusual take of a poetry in literal, That´s what've got in this clip. But this song reminds me of relationships and true love, actually, when you really sacrifice yourself in order to follow something that´s far above your common sense, and it can be since a erotic love that worthes to be lived, until the sacred love, when you follow to death your ideals for humanity well being.

Esses caras cantam muito bem, já ouvi dois álbuns deles e gostei muito. É bom ouvir uma banda que não faz uso do vocal gutural ou rasgado, só para variar.
+BIO Terrorista Cara, na moral, eles mandam muito bem pra bandas de hoje em dia assim.. Eu comecei a pouco tempo com eles, e já curti demais!! E recomendo bandas de power metal também, não usam tanto o vocal rasgado :v

Eu gosto muito de Death Metal, Black e Viking (com vocal gutural, tipo o Amon Amarth), não gosto muito de Power Metal, mas é bacana ouvir um canto comum de vez em quando, como o Thin Lizzy, o U.F.O., o Uriah Heep e por aí vai.

In the film Valhalla Rising, you have several violent parts, but you also have a journey to a new land, leaving home far away, as it is said in the lyrics of the song: "For so long as I've gone and so far I've wandered". I don't feel this song as a love song. Valhalla Rising is dark, ambient, gritty movie, I agree with you, because it shows you that dark journey as it is told in the song. I love Valhalla Rising and I love this song. But wtf. I always pictured it sort of as a love song of sorts. I would never combine a love song with a dark, ambient, gritty movie like Valhalla Rising haha.

Exactly what I was thinking. The vocal at the beginning is very much like James Hetfield, and the drums and snap of the snare in the slower parts are very like Lars' style and sound. And the rhythm & lead guitar parts have a real Sanitarium-vibe in places.

I always figured the evening star in this song is the northern star for sake of that was the astrological landmark used for travel by pretty much everybody at the time. the song IS about traveling a long distance from home which is why i'd assume
