  • This is an awesome ATV Ride up to Capilla Peak in New Mexico. Located in the rugged and beautiful Manzano Mountains is where you can find this access road. Back in 2008, a massive wildfire claimed this section of forest which also became the largest forest fire in the mountain range.

    The beauty of this is your ability to bring the charm back even when the fires took the views away. You still draw on the positive side of the future . That means a lot it shows respect something we should all follow . Thank you for this video I personally enjoy it ! I just recently received a Hallmark card which I truly prize with pride from your channel . Thanks for being the guy you are . Ruben Super nice channel you have there . 👍

      Wow, thank you. I greatly appreciate your comment and feedback. I adopted my channel name after this mountain range, Manzano. I grew up exploring this mountain range and when the fire came through it was devastating. It almost felt as if my memories went with it, but my memories are still strong and alive. To see all the new growth "life" in the mountain range is exciting. Thank you kindly Stephen and I hope you get the stickers soon. Take care.

    Beautiful ride I have to mention about the forest fire yes forest fires are devastating but in the same time there are benefits to forest fires too up here in Canada in some of the provinces they are letting the fire burn as long there is no threat to human life or property as you can see in your video it does grow back and healthier so by letting fires burn that pose no threat it keeps all man power to fight the fires that pose a threat all they do is monitor the fires that they let burn

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  Год назад +1

      You are right about the forest coming back in a much better and healthier forest in the long run. Some of the concern here was the mountain communities just below this fire where more than 50 homes burned down. But you made some good points about what happens up in Canada. Thanks for watching.

    So Ruben,
    Has the New Mexico Tourism Board put you on the cover of any of their publications along with a 3-page interview and more pictures? It seems to me you're doing a wonderful job of showing off the local mountains plus including some history. If they haven't, well they're being slackers on their job!
    I think I've watched all your ATV videos now so will be looking forward to your next outing. Although their will likely be snow up at the elevations you ride, unless you have some (relatively) low elevation trips you can do.
    Anyway, all my very best to you, and good luck on your future rides!

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  Год назад +1

      No one has ever reached out from the tourism department. You’re not the first person who has also said this in reference to the videos I create. Maybe one day someone will reach out and ask to use a video reference it in an article. Or perhaps even talk to me about the area I explored.
      There is snow in the higher elevations now and unfortunately New Mexico closes routes these places. So throughout the winter, I have the other half of New Mexico, which is lower elevations in the desert exploring mountains, and canyons. Which is perfect because in the summer it is too hot to be in the desert so we head up high to cool off.
      Since New Mexico has a high elevation desert, it can still dip well below freezing and at times produces snow in areas. I hope all is well and your enjoying your new quad, or at least day dreaming of riding.

    Tons of deer! NICE! Always good to see wildlife!
    WOW, that was a huge burn area! It's too bad all those big Ponderosa's were destroyed. On the other hand, fires are good for the forest. They put nutrients back into the soil and help generate new growth. By putting out every wildfire that starts, we've created tinderboxes in all of our forests causing easy ignition and massive out of control fires from careless humans or natural cause such as lighting. Just sayin' - lol
    19:21 & 25:18 - nice views!
    30:25 - it's amazing how close you got to those deer. They obviously have never been shot at - LOL - Fawns were so small (and cute)!
    35:30 - another great view!
    Cool drone footage at the end.
    Hope you had a good camping trip with your buddies!

      I agree with you a fire does help out with the over all health of a forest in the long run. That is one thing I can see is how healthy it is looking now.
      I couldn’t believe how many deer were out enjoyed the weather and grass. I finally lost count with the ones I didn’t get on camera. I agree with you on that one. These deer never been shot at and campground fed. They dang near let me go pet them haha.
      I love the views from up here and I would love to check out a sunset from here. Now that I got my light bar is a time to do it. I can light the road up coming down. Keep Bigfoot at bay lol.

    You captured some terrific views and your narrative is excellent. Personally, I would prefer a 30 minute video, but I enjoyed the whole thing. That lean two/camp with the views was amazing (aside from the grafitti). I would need to be able to have a fire, but I assume the fire ban is not all the time? Thanks for your efforts making this video. Much appreciated.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  2 года назад

      I aim for 20 to 30 minutes videos nowadays. I feel 30 plus can be to long. This is an awesome area to camp in. The wildlife and views make it worth it. But the graffiti left by people is annoying, I would imagine the campground host addresses it. Typically fire bans are only in progress if there is lack of rain. Otherwise fires are allowed all the time in the mountains. I appreciate you watching and commenting.

    Very nice, those campsites right on the edge are interesting. Still planning a trip to most likely the Pecos Wilderness this summer, may wait for fall colors but we'll see. It's about a 600 mile drive from where I am in Texas to anywhere with mountains so it's not a weekend trip. Until I make it I'll have make do with vids like yours, thanks much

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  4 года назад

      The camp sites at the top are really cool and all of them have a great view.
      I am glad you are still planing a trip to come out to the Pecos Wilderness to do a trip. The fall time is a perfect time to see the colors. The Aspen trees will be in the pretty yellowish golden color. You are right about that, the 600 mile drive isn't a weekend trip, It's a week long trip. I have a trip planned to backpack in the Pecos Wilderness August 21th - 24th. I am looking forward to hiking out there.
      I appreciate you watching and commenting. Take care.

      I appreciate you watching and yes, I did a little drone work on the drive down the mountain. My group didn't make it out to a camp spot after all due to my friend not feeling well. At that point I decided to cancel the trip because the mountains are forecasted to be under a flash flood watch. But I will come up with something to film and put together.
      Thanks again! I greatly appreciate your feedback and support.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures

      It is in the Manzano Mountains. I would think that the best place to find forestry information would be to search the Cibola National Forest website. This particular area falls under the mountainaire ranger district. They have a lot of information that could help you. Thanks for watching!
