Great simple and effective technique! Does that spray paint seal the colour avoiding to peel?
Thank you!
Thank you! I have personally never had an issue with peeling. If you wanted to have another layer of protection I would spray a clear matte top coat spray paint over the color.
@@LifeofStyleBlog thank you!
Omgoodness I've been handpainting and it's such a slow process plus the finish isn't nowhere near as nice, so thank you for sharing this.
I like this method as opposed to putting paint and beads into a container and shaking because the finish is smoother. Best to take the time and do it this way.
Thank you!! Yes I agree, this is the best way I have found to get that very smooth finish 💕
This was sooo helpful! It takes hours doing it by hand the way I’ve been doing it 😂🤦♀️ there’s just not much of a colour range of spray pints where I’m from! Do you think using an actual spray gun and mixing your own colours would work? Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching! I never thought about doing that but it's a great idea! It definitely seems like it would work. If you try it let me know because I agree the paint selection with spray paints can be limiting. I have recently been seeing more selections popping up at Home Depot though with spray paints. On my last trip there they had some chalk paint spray paints that I will be giving a try. Thanks again for taking the time to watch my video and commenting 😊
I know I’m super late to the party. But I just wanted to tell you that you can also use RIT dye. They have a ton of colors & the beads come out so gorgeous & vibrant.
Thank you so much!! I will definitely have to give that a try, I have never used that method before! 🤗💕
Hi late to watching this but great video! Do you know if this would work with painting with plastic or other type jewelry beads? Also would the paint rub off if worn on the skin?
Hi! I assume this method would work with other materials but I have not tried it myself. In my experience the paint has not rubbed off at all on the wood beads, but you can also add a clear coat to seal everything in when the color spray paint has dried completely. 😊
Can we get that shiny and smooth finish by acrylics? Would you brief me on this?
Hi! I am assuming you are referring to painting the beads by hand with acrylic paint? In my experience painting the beads by hand never came close to the fine smooth appearance that the spray paint gives the beads. The spray paint provides a more even coverage that makes the beads have a clean look to them. I have painted them by hand but I was never as happy with the results. This methods with the spray paint is a lot easier, quicker, and yields a much better result (for me at least) hope this helps 😊
Can you use any type of spray paint? Which spray paint works best?
Hi! Yes you can use almost any spray paint but the one I love the most and have had the most success with is the Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover spray paint, rstyle.me/cz-n/fx4icydj7ep here is a link for reference. I find this spray paint gives a beautiful finish. I tend to stick with matte over gloss but that is completely up to your preference. Thank you for watching!
This is awesome where did you get that metal wire from??
Thank you so much! I picked up this wire from Home Depot, it is 12 gauge galvanized. You can also find it on Amazon, here is a link amzn.to/3BzTJ53 I had this wire left over from a previous craft, that is why I used it. If you can find thin wood or bamboo skewers, they work as well. 💕
@@LifeofStyleBlog ok thank you so much I appreciate it I will def give this a try
You can also use metal or wood skewers from the dollar tree.
Thank you so much ! Can I ask if you can use nail polish and UV resin on top too?
Thank you so much for watching! 😊. hmm, I have never thought about that before. I don't know but if you do try it, let me know, I would love to know if it worked for you.
@@LifeofStyleBlog I will thank you ! :)
Hi am I missing the link to where you purchased these beads? Thank you!!
Hey! Thanks for watching! 😊 Here is the link for the exact beads that I used in the video. amzn.to/3xaFbWG In the description box, there is also a link for my Amazon storefront where I have some of my favorite craft supplies. There is also a link for my wood bead garland tutorial, hope this helps.
How would I add a pattern, like white dots on a red bead?
The way I would do it is after painting the beads a base color (or purchasing painted beads) is to use the end of a paint brush, the wooden part, and just dip it into a bit of paint and carefully dab it on to the beads as they are still suspended on the metal wire so it can dry evenly. Hope this helps!! 😊💕
@@LifeofStyleBlog It DOES help - thank you so much!
Yay! I’m so glad 😃 thank you again for watching!!💕
How long it lasts
Hi! I’ve been painting my beads like this for years and they all still look perfect. I do think matte works best though, in my opinion ☺️
Mine never turn out right. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. The spray paint doesn’t go on evenly, and doesn’t seem to want to stick at all.
It could be the spray paint that you are using, matte spray tends to be a lot more user friendly. You can definitely still use gloss paint, I have done this method with all kinds of spray paint, but you will just want to make sure to use very light coats for a gloss paint. One of my favorite spray paints to use is the Rustoleum Painters Touch 2x Ultra Cover.

You spray the beads and then you spray Krylon? How long do you wait before each spray? What type of spray did you use for the first paint?
