I love that you’re helping out other young kids get prepared for high school. As an almost 23 year old now I wanted to add in some stuff.
- bring extra underwear and pants. One day you will bleed through your pants, it happens to everyone.
- focus on getting good grades, you can do it, just put in the time and effort and figure out how to make it fun for you. You may not want to go to college but many many years after high school you may want to and you’ll be glad you got good grades because when you’re older you’ll have the savings to be able to go where you want to go and the grades to be able to get in.
- don’t try to be popular!!! Just be yourself! You don’t want to look back on your high school years and cringe that you used to try to please people that didn’t matter, you want to be able to look back and be happy that you stayed true to yourself
- if you can get a job where you live, do it. Save all that money if you can. You might not be able to get a car right now but when you’re old enough you can get a nice one that won’t break down on you!
- don’t get into drinking or doing drugs. First off you will more than likely get very sick, second off it might not be what you think it is and you might end up in the hospital or die.
- tell your parents what’s going on in your life so they can protect you

@@fruitycake6259 it went pretty good! My school is bigger than average and classes are numbered weird, so that made it more nerve racking (and I didn’t get my schedule until the night before). I ended up finding everything okay though, and only got “lost” once. I just asked around for help. There is usually always someone standing in the halls waiting to give directions if you need it, or just ask a teacher. Nothing to stress about haha, and it’s okay to be late or lost. By the second day I had everything down.

I just completed my first day of High School, this is my advice to you people who haven't started:
* be yourself, don't try to be someone your not.
* change your schedule first day + be nice to your grade administrator/guidance counselor
- (they are stressed out enough and working on hundreds of other schedules)
* wear what you're comfortable in,
- (you'll see what other kids are wearing (your freshmen peers, and upperclassmen)
* ASK. FOR. DIRECTIONS. normally there's security and teachers everywhere on the first day (week), ask. For. Directions.
* try to find your friends from younger grades, the reunion feels like winning a marathon. (Plus you wont be alone at lunch)
* go to orientation. Traditionally you get a tour of the school and can get to know people of your class there.
Am an upcoming freshman and am so excited, nervous and scared at the same time but the video is so helpful

story time: one of my cousins was a freshman last year and sent a nude to a boy that she claimed to love and he claimed that he would marry her as soon as they turned 18. as soon as she sent it, the next day, everybody knew about it and the principal talked to her about it. she refused to say who she sent it to (aka the boy) and rumors started that she sent it to him and told him to send them around the school. she got expelled for cp and the police got involved and she cant go to most schools in detroit (we live in michigan)

I’m going to be a sophomore this year and I’m scared cause I didn’t go to this school for freshman year, instead I went online cause 8th grade was so depressing and bad. I’m scared of seeing those people from 8th grade again, but I’ve definitely changed to become a better person so I hope it goes well.

if you already have experience in honors or gifted i would say have all your academics be honors but if not then only your strongest classes (for example if ur super good at math try honors math)

I am a incoming freshman and I am taking honors physics 1, honors English, honors geometry, and regular us history. How do I prepare. How do I become more successful?
Manage your time correctly, and keep track of what you’re doing in class. Getting through all of your work efficiently will reduce stress, and leave more time for yourself. Enough sleep is very important in order to work efficiently and learn better. Considering that honors classes are slightly fast paced. You should try to ask as many questions as possible or take many notes.

Find common ground. Introduce yourself, once the other person shares facts about themselves, compare class schedules and find out if you have similar interests ranging from favorite food to clubs that you're planning to join and go from there.

just gotta say you earned a new subscriber!!🩷this made me feel 10x better about starting highschool.
also, there’s another thing i want to say, basically i really love volleyball. it’s one of my favorite sports, and i enjoy playing. but there’s a good chunk of girls on the team who i know do not like me. and going into a new environment especially with different grades, im just a lot more nervous and i’m scared i’m gonna get made fun of. camp is in a few days and actual practice is coming up soon too. do you know what i can do to help my feelings??
You can join a different team from around the county or something, or try to figure out if there is a miscommunication between you and the girls.
If you don’t know why those girls don’t like you , what i would do is maybe ask them why they don’t like you be chase a lot of the times people will not like you over an assumption that’s not true so maybe try to use practice time as an opportunity to grow a bond with them.
