I am really astonished to see these photos taken by the great Steve McCurry . How is it possible to understand and framing the people and places , their life style , their happiness and sorrow through the camera lens .
Lisbon, Portugal. I have seen now a magic history of our mankind through your great quality pics. Photography is superb as seen by yourself in every corner of our world and showing every people in this EARTH of ours. My congrats STEVE, superb works.
What an incredible body of work!. I would be happy to have just taken one photo as good as any of these and you have zillions. I will definatly be spending more time browsing your wonderful photographs. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work.
Where have I been? Incredible work and each one moved me to want more...I realized how small my life is and how much I appreciate your vision. Bravo!! I've learned much. Thank you!
I'm jealous. Of your skills, opportunities and how you manage to convey so much, sometimes with an opportunity I would have ignored, due to my lack of a true photographers eye. You deserve the honours, and the recognition you have got over the years. Your portfolio is full of lessons for the photographer hungry for motivation. From candid portrait to landscape and everything in between, masterful!
Wow - what a man McCurry is to see and convey these images. I turned off the music and watched a picture at a time. Appreciate you gave us long enough to view them didn't spoil them by zooming endlessly. Your click and subscribe motifs were a pain as they overwrote much better photos beneath.
I am 66 years old and i always followed steve on magazines and he was one of my favorite photographers . I know there are much more others like sebastian Salgado and Ansel Adams , Henri Cartier Bresson and much more . they gave us a cultural heritage of how distant countries live that until now no one knew yet . Today with the law of data protection we are going to loose all of these in future to come . There will be nothing to show street life and also loosing good photographers with it too . I feel a story behind every picture and these are going to be lost with this law .
I;ve always loved, respected an followed S.M. A few years ago he flipped from 40 yrs with Nikon over to Leica. That in itself is fine, anybody is allowed to shoot whatever system they want. However, he sunk pretty low recently - making advertisement for shooting images on a particular mobile phone. This is ridiculous - what kind of photos would McCurry have if had if he shot his lifework on a cell phone??
If mobile phones with good sensors and the capability of making good photos were available 40 years ago, then I assure you that Steve McCurry would have used one. Steve’s ability to make outstanding photos, is the result of a highly creative mind and acute observation. It is not dependent on a camera brand and he does not hide his vested interests, so I have no problem with anyone endorsing a product and earning a living from promoting a brand.
Technically the latest smartphones could have produced better images than some of the images shot on film. However it's not all about lack of noise/grain and low-light performance. It's about composition and the "decisive moment". I have no doubt he would take stunning images with any form of camera. Anybody is allowed to shoot on whatever system they want. Not my words.
@@gohumberto some images. like very few. cell pics certainly wouldn't have made the cut to make a print. and print is the medium that made him famous. while image quality between cellphones and cameras maybe comparable in certain cases, the camera offers the photographer vastly better ergonomics to frame and fire the shot (e.g. rain, dust, bright sunlight). those are also essential to getting the shot.
The road behind me as a photographer is a short one. Street, war, and travel photography are not subjects I gravitate to. That said, two legends I admire would include Henri Cartier-Bresson and Steve McCurry. Steve's use of broken patterns, leading lines to convey motion, vivid color and subject matter intrigue me and ignite the joy of photography. Where the country western music came from as a background track here is beyond me. It is mundane and lacks energy, imagination, tempo, and is not music I would pick to highlight brilliance.
McCurry is a tarnished legend. Staging scenes, people, props; photoshopping elements into and out of frames - and selling it as photojournalism for decades. And when caught and called out for it - he claims he never was a photojournalist, but a "visual storyteller". McCurry has lousy professional ethics.
I have to say I have no problem with staging and posing as long as they represent an underlyig reality, but I was disappointed by the revelations regarding photoshop - the problem as always is that you don't know which images to trust, Tarnished is right- he's undoubtedly taken many great images and it would be nice to be able to say that the end of the story.
Which photos here do you allege were not made by Steve McCurry? I am familiar with most of his work, and I recognise those images in this presentation.

As photographers we all know where to look to make a photo, but Steve sees and finds that magical image which most of us overlook.

What camera did you use ? They are so nice photoes.
Well-done, comprehensive selection of images, but the music choices are HORRIBLE! I did have to mute the sound to get through the images.

Amazing. But the music is really bad.
I prefer Heavy Metal😮
Salgado ...
not sure why, but this video was a bit depressing
A lot of the images shown here are not Steve McCurry's!!! Click bait!

Ma manca una R al cognome🤔😎correggere il titolo
👍
Do yourself a favor and mute this video when you watch it.
That's the sense of photography !!! Too bad that the unnatural colors and contrasts have spoiled it !!! should it bribe ?
It's film photography. These are awesome colors that can't be replicated 😊
I’d be interested to know which photographers you prefer for their use of colour and contrast?
Unnatural compared to which photographs?
Over valutate
His work is shallow
God with a camera. (Accept it and move on.)
Music was so bad I couldn't watch 15 seconds of this. Whoever did this sucks.
