Thank you Dave. Today I got mine and couldn't figure about how to put the roof down. The back lever was the thing I didn't even see. So simple. So thank's again.
Thanx for posting; was at a local Chevrolet dealer checking out a super clean '95 verti-vette, buttons are slightly different, but this got the job done. The dealer had N-O-O-O idea how the older vettes work. :D
Thanks for the video mines is a 93 so it’s not the same but I did find that hidden latch to release the back part of the top behind the driver seat by watching this video
Great video! But, the yellow button in the center console, and the button (on both doors) do the same thing. You should release the rear of the top before you pop the "trunk".
Thank you Dave. My son bought the same car. He took of soft roof and a metal frame. Now we cleaned the metal from the glue, bought a new soft roof and stuck. we do not know how to put the frame back. Can you, please, help us to show how to do that. Thanks
We bought a 1986 convertible and it has a sun shield attached to the inside lower part of the rear window, we can’t figure out how to either roll it up or what exactly it bolts to. It has 2 plastic screws attached with elastic. Any clues
if you want to destroy the rear window that is how you do it! you fold a crease in the rear window so it does not bunchup at 1:50 in the video thats what happened!
I would also recommend not wadding up and wrinkling your rear window when you raise the rear portion of the roof. I have a Miata where sloppy folding of the rear window has caused the window to crack and allow water to leak in. One smooth fold across the width of the window is easy to do before you raise it up and also down under the tonneau. Think of folding the rear window neatly like a taco shell without a hard crease in the middle.
Thank you so much. I just bought an '87 convertible and this video saved a lot of time!
Thank you Dave.

Thanks! Just got an '86 and was wondering how to get the roof up.
Thanks
On a 1989 the button to release the back panel is located underneath that panel, not on the door as as shown for this 1988.
I'd put a rolled rag on the plastic window between the folds and make sure it doesn't kink though .

Also can put a heavy folded towel between window. To.protect it from scratches.
The cables under the hatch are frayed on my 1987 Corvette Convertible. I need to replace them. Where can I buy them
Anyone knows why I get water inside the car from the top left driver side ...i just had a new weather stripping installed a new roof also
So, uh, not gonna push a button and it goes up and down by itself? LOLOL!!
Need a garage etc. if the top leaks😂
