AsSalaamuAlaikum, I became muslim almost 30 years ago. My husband was born muslim but when he came to America he stopped practicing ….every thing you said in the video happened to me! I tried and tried, In order to save our marriage I agreed to move to his country of birth while he stayed in America…3 years of being separated…our children and I loved living in the Middle East..And saw that I was strong enough to live with my children in another country , as if we were divorced, I decided to go ahead and divorce him…Remember everything Sheik Mufti said , happened to me…after we divorced he was worse to me in hidden ways than when we were married…even keeping our children from me and I became the targeted parent…he used parental alienation as his favorite tool to punish me…my children are now grown and have very little to do with me…But I will say he is a good father to our children when it come to providing for them, but continues to punish me…I wont say everything he did, its not my place, even his own family is very angry with him with all of this…15 years of marriage, he committed everything Mufti said but made me the bad person….its okay, alhumdulilah I learned so much about myself and the better my relationship is with Allah. Allah knows my pain, my truth, my heart, everything. Thank you for this video, its hard to keep my tongue tied, I want to scream to the world I AM NOT THE BAD PERSON HERE!!! But this is my test! But for me to stop abuse and heal taught my children its never to late to change for the better! I pray for my ex-husband everyday, for Allah to forgive him and for me if my decision was wrong. I have moved on and am blessed for everything that has happened in my life. It would have been a sin to waist my life on allowing someone to abuse me. Allah gives us all a purpose. If I had stayed, I would have ended up leaving Islam all together. JazakAllahKheir

How nice to make such a great post - I’m really thankful you gave the perspective of the rights of a wife / woman. Please bare in mind there are many men who do whatever they can to respect their in laws and wife - but even doing whatever he can - she still asks for a divorce and many Imaams openly grant it to her even allowing her to own half the family assets. We should not share the injustices faced by women or men in divorce - but a reminder on the right way of doing it for both men and women.

It's not easy being a woman in Parda, with health issues and unable to work. The sad part in my case is that my husband is friends with the Ulama and I'm being treated unfairly. Are they waiting for Divine intervention??! My mahr is being held and refused and the documents of Nikah contract with the stipulated mahr are even being kept away from me by the Islamic Organization/Mufti and is being distorted by my husband so that he get away with paying only a fraction, which I don't think he'll pay at all... You can divorce your husband for any reason. Know yourself and if it's affecting your IMAN, seek advice, read up what is it you want yourself to preserve your inner being so that you are not crushed inside. Allah wants us to be free from blame if we cannot bear it.
If he gives you his full company and keep you happy and give you your rights and just not letting you to meet your family . In that case don't leave him at one time he maybe change inshallah. In another case if he is not giving his attention to you and your rights so discuss it with your husband and do what is best and do isteqara for it.

AsSalaamuAlaikum, I became muslim almost 30 years ago. My husband was born muslim but when he came to America he stopped practicing ….every thing you said in the video happened to me! I tried and tried, In order to save our marriage I agreed to move to his country of birth while he stayed in America…3 years of being separated…our children and I loved living in the Middle East..And saw that I was strong enough to live with my children in another country , as if we were divorced, I decided to go ahead and divorce him…Remember everything Sheik Mufti said , happened to me…after we divorced he was worse to me in hidden ways than when we were married…even keeping our children from me and I became the targeted parent…he used parental alienation as his favorite tool to punish me…my children are now grown and have very little to do with me…But I will say he is a good father to our children when it come to providing for them, but continues to punish me…I wont say everything he did, its not my place, even his own family is very angry with him with all of this…15 years of marriage, he committed everything Mufti said but made me the bad person….its okay, alhumdulilah I learned so much about myself and the better my relationship is with Allah. Allah knows my pain, my truth, my heart, everything. Thank you for this video, its hard to keep my tongue tied, I want to scream to the world I AM NOT THE BAD PERSON HERE!!! But this is my test! I try to handle it with grace, love and forgiveness…I keep the doors of communication open for my children…even if they wont walk through it, they may never accept me..JazakAllahKkeir Sheik Mufti…Someone finally knows my pain!

@@corneliap1635 JazakAllahKheir, for me it was, I have gone on to help other sisters that have been put in the same situation. Divorcing is not always the answer for everyone. But for me to stop abuse and heal taught my children its never to late to change for the better! I pray for my ex-husband everyday, for Allah to forgive him and for me if my decision was wrong. I have moved on and am blessed for everything that has happened in my life. It would have been a sin to waist my life on allowing someone to abuse me. Allah gives us all a purpose. If I had stayed, I would have ended up leaving Islam all together. JazakAllahKheir

Thank you Mufti! Frankly, with the raise in family problems and divorce, many people, specially women, prefer to remain single instead of falling into pain and suffer later on in life with unfaithful spouse.

aisha mateo please don’t let marriage issue ruin your life. I was oppressed by my husband for 8months. I only had 3 months of my marriage in good happy days, the rest of my marriage was disaster from having miscarriage to being emotionally and physically abused and I was thrown out of my husband house in the middle of the night because I wanted to work our marriage but he didn’t wanted to.

How nice to make such a great post - I’m really thankful you gave the perspective of the rights of a wife / woman. Please bare in mind there are many men who do whatever they can to respect their in laws and wife - but even doing whatever he can - she still asks for a divorce and many Imaams openly grant it to her even allowing her to own half the family assets. We should not share the injustices faced by women or men in divorce - but a reminder on the right way of doing it for both men and women.

My husband has left me hanging an we are in different countries 😭 I also have a 2 yr old girl from him he doesn’t care about us at all, I tried a lot to fix everything in our marriage for the sake of Allah and my child but he is running away with full of ego and ignorance

My husband take it all mahar,barrow all my salary,not support my son, don't buy anything for my son,and he love playing games he don't like to do it salah,he don't care his son.and now he stay with hiss friends nonmuslims .

It's not easy being a woman in Parda, with health issues and unable to work. The sad part in my case is that my husband is friends with the Ulama and I'm being treated unfairly. Are they waiting for Divine intervention??! My mahr is being held and refused and the documents of Nikah contract with the stipulated mahr are even being kept away from me by the Islamic Organization/Mufti and is being distorted by my husband so that he get away with paying only a fraction, which I don't think he'll pay at all... I wish there was someone to intervene and give me my haqq

You can divorce your husband for any reason. Know yourself and if it's affecting your IMAN, seek advice, read up what is it you want yourself to preserve your inner being so that you are not crushed inside. Allah wants us to be free from blame if we cannot bear it.
If he gives you his full company and keep you happy and give you your rights and just not letting you to meet your family . In that case don't leave him at one time he maybe change inshallah. In another case if he is not giving his attention to you and your rights so discuss it with your husband and do what is best and do isteqara for it.
