I know how Jake said this would be the worst video because of how nasty the tree was, but I enjoy the video. I think it’s good not to show only the good of working with trees but also how things can be so frustrating. There’s also something to note about how Jake and Randy are working together and both hating on the tree and not each-other. Lots of people when they get frustrated at work put it on their coworkers, but you can clearly see how great of a duo these guys are. Great video, keep up the good work!

I can agree with Jacob. Jake and randy, I've not finished the video but this is a freaking great one. It shows me that even the best have a tough time. Maples in east tn are the same way. I absolutely love this one. Even when you're showing how frustrating it can be dealing with shaking tangled limbs. Can we see a few more of these type videos. Just make sure to bid the next one a thousand or two higher 😂

I'm new to your channel and having watched several videos, I am super impressed with your remarkable expertise. Your videos are entertaining as well as educational, and once I start watching, I can't stop. Explaining how and why in your tree felling while adding in a little humor is great.
Thanks for doing what you do. Most people do not know the skills needed to do what you do. Having had numerous large trees removed from my property, I know just how dangerous tree felling is.

I got the opportunity to climb with a Husqvarna battery top handle not long ago and was happy with the performance. Nice to only have to press a button to turn it on, especially if you’re in an awkward work position, etc.
The saw has retired a lot of my top handles, personally I recommend it

I liked how you kept your humor while being frustrated with the tree. That still made it very entertaining. And I kept wondering, how much video raw material did you have there, filming with at least 2 cameras, and how much time it took you to cut it down to get an entertaining version like this.
Your worst maple, my worst experience with wifi! It kept quitting and the little wheel went around. Very frustrating! But I persevered and saw it to the end. I’m now waiting for part two, so I can see what happens.

Seems like we all over estimate what we can do in a day. The little hassles and fighting tangles and snags always adds up. It gets frustrating, especially if you bid them tight.
Really like watching all your videos. My very first one was the tree felling tutorial with Jed and I learned how to tie a bowline on a bight from that. Glad you're still doing well, and I hope Jed's loved ones are also doing the best they can.
You worked almost 5 hours, brought down a crapload of wood and then as you are picking up you look back up at it and there is more tree standing than when you started.
We are enjoying the banter between you two ...weall are enjoying the video ..no matter what !

This is one of the best trees to film because it is such tangled mess and people who who understand a small amount of what you do will see how dangerous your job is so every safety detail you can think of would be a great idea

The way the stump on that looks, about 50 years ago a homeowner sawed a smaller version down the hard way and the suckers and stems have been growing since them.
My friend and i were complaining about how there are little to no good sprawly tree videos because no one wants to post them. I honestly am glad you posted this because it's more relatable to most of the tree work outside of the west side of the USA and CA.

Just today I had to take down a 80-90ft very skinny white oak. Bucket was 65 and no way I was climbing those tiny limbs. All 3 tops shook that tree so bad. The shaky ones are the worst so I feel ya there. Needless to say the bucket took a little wack or two. I know the feeling as well of underbidding and getting beat up by the tree, but you made the most of it!

I have 2 neighbors that have Sugar Maples. I hate them because they drop a ton of seed copters every Fall season. It takes hours to clean up everyday and continues for months. The worst thing is that the seeds migrate and can grow new trees. I saw 3 trees growing near the back of our garage and the trunks are the size of a quarter which is too thick and deep to dig by hand. I cut them back for now. The other problem is there are 3 more but about 3 feet tall in neighbor's backyard behind us. I don't know if he knows they're there or doesn't care. I want to mention it to him but he doesn't look like the sort of person who's easy to approach. He's in his 40's and always looks grumpy. I'm frantic those trees if left to grow, will become huge. It's hard enough cleaning up every season without more of these trees. I never could understand why the neighbors planted these trees. We live in a residential neighborhood where homes are close to each other and yards aren't very big. All these trees do is cause problems as the seed copters get into everything you can imagine. You should see my driveway in the Spring. The birds are nesting and constantly flying back and forth to the trees and dropping a ton of bird droppings on our driveway. These trees would be better suited in the rural countryside, but not an urban area. I wish I could move, but can't. If the trees just dropped leaves, it wouldn't be nearly as bad and I could live with that, but the seed pods are an absolute disaster imo.

I have never seen a maple tree grow like that in my life. Looks like it has multiple trunks with few branches.
East Coast maples grow like that... Branches literally just grow into another branch and then fuse...
That's why I just have red oak and hickory 🤣
Yeah New Yorker here. The maples here are formidable and they have many sub species and all of em do multiple habits. Good and bad. Maples are a big part of our job. Silver maples most. And those are always annoying.
