Haven't thrown either, but looks to me that the Quake profile is a smidge more blunt and so has less movement left - right. Pyro looks like it needs more room to work. Good review.
pyro feels like it has a lil more HS turn then it dumps. So it's easier to get an S line out of it. Quake is the most comfortable FH mid disc i've ever used to it wins forever for me
The Proton Prism Pyro for me is perfection. It's over stable, but not so much so that I can't get good distance from it, it's super flat and shallow which I love especially for forehand shots, and the plastic feels money. I'm a believer in gyro, mainly for being able to correct wobble quicker than a non gyro disc. I switched from the quake to the pyro. Both are great tho.
I couldn't agree more. I think it will replace my quake once it beats in too much. I heard someone say that they have had pyro's with a super low wing that are flippy but I have yet to run into any "flippy" pyros
Good stuff! I have a Malta right now that is perfect for me. A nice mellow OS with good distance. Nice HSS without too much LSS or driver-like skips Used to have a D line quake. Never quite fell in love with it. Have yet to try a Pyro because I'm obsessed with my Malta
My beef cake of choice is the discmania mutant, also do you secretly just have a ton of power? Cause my mutant only goes about 235' and I can definitely get a driver 400'+ flat field, but maybe its just a mold difference.
I don't think I would get more than 235 out of a Mutant either. My comfortable golf distance is around 380. Fieldwork I've hit 445 on a hilariously unrealistic line.
You want beef? Try the Legacy Discs Patrick Brown Aztec Serpent. Got it in a mystery box a year or two ago. It's the beefiest mid I've thrown. Gotta be the Tilt of midranges 😂
It's a Badger, right? I think that Legacy Pursuit is a close relative to these two. It's a sweet disc. Either quite workable or a beefcake, depending on the plastic.

Yeah I can get down with that take

Awesome camera angle on those forehand at 5.5 minutes
Looked like you were kicking the discs down the fairway🥋
my leg does a weird thing with my righty forehand. working on that. Im left handed so that side is way smoother.

I have yet to throw a malta actually. Wonder how it would feel in my tiny baby hands

The Mutant is way more overstable than either of these. These are meant to be workably overstable. MVPs version of the Mutant would be the Deflector.

Haha after trying out deflectors and mutants I'm not sure I want to be humbled like that.
