Those "happy little accidents" Bob Ross talked about weren't just a way to make newbie artists feel better, sometimes the mistakes you make can lead to more beautiful products
@@luketfer wobbly was the word i was looking for, edited my comment lol. yeah if it was a perfectly smooth half-sphere it definitely wouldn't look as real.
Dispite the fact that this didn’t come out how you had hoped, I actually love the way the ninja looks in King slime! It looks like he’s suspended in water (the not completely smooth surface really helps) and makes it look more realistic in my opinion
As so often is the case with your sculpts, what you see as imperfections is to me what makes your art look so much more alive and real. Don't ever change, Adam! You're the best.
Having little details that are kinda obscured but technically visible if you peer in closely enough make it all the better, all the more real, and an extra treat for those who cam see it up close
To me, the opaque, distorted look adds to it! Imagine being someone who came across the King Slime if it was real and seeing something suspended inside of it. At first, you'd wonder what it is..........and then, a dawning feeling of horror would immediately wash over you once you realized *what* it was!
And sense it would be moving, there would almost certainly be moments where the slime would be smooth enough that you would be able to see the corpse in full detail. If King slime could perfectly control his shape. He could make a magnifying lens shape over the face of the corpse, creating an illusion that he had a massive decaying face.
As a slime fan in general, this is an AWESOME make! The distortion doesn't bother me at all and encourages me to take a closer look for all those little details. Good Job Adam!
I think the fact we can't see the decomposing ninja is more terrifying because it leaves the new adventurer to be like "Oh god what the hell is in that thing!?"
Personally, I think the fact that the slime isnt perfectly smooth makes it even better! It gives the illusion that it's slowly moving when it's idle just like how our chest rises and falls when we breathe. And, since the slime is blue, it looks like water. Water isn't meant to always be 100% clear and non-deforming. I'm not saying this just to be nice, but I'm saying this because it's genuinely the truth.
To be honest, the fact that the ninja is so obscured really adds flavor to it. Imagine an adventurer seeing a figure trapped in slime, unsure to tell whether they're still living or maybe even *controlling* the creature, only to realize all too late what befell them.
Honestly, the ninja skeleton not being fully visible and being distorted actually works really well! Even though the slime kinda looks like water, slime, the thing itself is not water so not seeing it fully is a happy accident :3 You should really be proud of this one, it turned out awesome!

4:45 For fully invisible support for stuff suspended in resin, you can create a rod out of the same exact resin before hand. You can get resin sticks pretty easy by dribbling relatively thin streaks of resin on non-stick paper and letting it cure. When you put it all together, everything shares the same refraction properties, so pre-cured support and main resin body merge together.
