    I love especially how his feet don’t touch the ground. Suggests that he’s a child of his species and gives me a whole new head-canon of nightmare fuel. I’m impressed by the drama of the different gingerbread man poses - I’m now genuinely rooting for the brave one shouting at Sid, and at least one of the ones trying to escape.

    Since the fur fabric was so annoying to work with I think better way to make a furry creature would be to make wefts from acrylic yarn. You brush out strands of the yarn with a wire pet brush and then glue the fibres into wefts, which are easier to manipulate and stick down with glue than the fabric. It's a technique used often by doll customisers to make the dolls hair. You can straighten the wefts with a hair straighteners on low heat, and style the fibres easily with water and a toothbrush.
    Anyway, I thought this sculpture was weirdly cute aha 🍪

    • @nekrataali
      @nekrataali 2 года назад +9

      @@mothra_mothra Hobby shops (or anywhere you can buy hobby supplies) that specialize in miniatures, model trains, and model cars carry the skinny masking tape. Tamiya is a well-known brand of hobby tools used for gunpla and historic vehicles. They make a variety of masking tapes ranging from 40mm wide all the way down to 1mm.
      The UV resin is likely another hobby brand and usually comes with the little handheld UV lamp you saw in this video. I know Greenstuff World makes resin kits that comes with the lamp, or you can buy the lamp separately. A more common device used are UV resin lamps used for doing nails at beauty salons (which are also great for curing 3D prints).

    For anyone wondering, Adam saying Cookie Monster’s name is Sid isn’t just a bit. In a song that recounts his first time eating a cookie he says “Me think me name was Sid.” which I find interesting because maybe he’s been called Cookie Monster so much that he sometimes forgets his true name. There are probably more instances of his name being shown in Sesame Street lore but that’s the only one I know of.

    This is my favorite piece you have ever made, the storytelling you captured really takes it to the next level. Know that the enormous amount of time you spent on cookie monsters fur also shows through in the end. Terrific and terrorizing!

    two tips i learned for cutting through fur:
    1. wash it before cutting it (reduces the fur fallout)
    2. comb the fur away from where you're cutting and cut as close to the actual fabric, to avoid cutting the fluff of the fur
    also part 2 of asking for huggy wuggy made of that fur, think it'd look really cool!

    Not his gumdrop buttons. :c
    Seriously though, that might be the cutest genocide I've ever seen. Top 5, at least! I think keeping both the gingerbread men and Cookie Monster in their original style actually adds a level of horror to the piece, as it alludes to the idea that the Cookie Monster we all know and love has possibly murdered numerous sentient cookies in gluttony.

    For the fur you could make a texture roller. Like you first do the fur on a sheat of clay, than you bake it, than you make a negative of that pressing another sheat of clay on to the first one that you can wrap around a stick to make a roller…
    (Forgive my english, it’s not my first language)

    To do that fur texture again, I'd imagine using a kind of sawtooth shaped piece of plastic, stabbing it into the clay in various places, and then bending each of the spikes in varying directions might be faster. (Not sure though)
