It fits more with her character than her design. (Spoiler I guess?) She's supposed to be the childish child actor who grew up and matured and got abandoned by the industry, so it would make sense that her voice would reflect that. What I hold issue with is akane's voice. It just sounds too tomboyish and doesn't fit with akane's obsessive bookworm schtick. But if they wanted to target the "childhood friend" archetype for Kana, the two VAs should definitely switch roles. Just my opinion tho
they really screwed up with kana's casting, like this is a character that when you hear her you feel like you're swimming in sarcasm and poison but the voice actress doesn't even make an effort to follow the character as she's portrayed on the japanese side
For me. Tbh it's really hard to find a VA that will be fit for Kana. Kana's character is very complex it really research on understanding her to get the perfect VA. For ex. Aqua's character is very linear and mysterious so the VA casted tried to mimic that type of voice.
