This was the information that I needed! Thanks for posting it on here.
How the bearings stay in position?
Thank you very much. You had been very helpful. Thanks a million. Rich.
Glad it helped!
Very informative Richard, thanks!
My hinges look exactly like yours except no set screw. There's a hole to hammer out the hinge pin, but the pin isn't budging. Could it be non-removable?
A stubborn hinge pin you say? Forward a few photos to our sales email at our contact section of the site: absupply.net
Ah, it says they are "ball-bearing hinges with non-removable hinge pin for extra security". I am having trouble finding 4-1/2" hinges with removable hinge pins. Thanks though.
this hinge can be ordered with removable pins: absupply.net/ball-bb5-bearing-standard-4-12-hinge-2323.aspx
Ball Bearing hinges are available standard with removable pins. Unless you specify non-removabel, you will receive a hinge with a removable pin.
Thank you!
This a false security hindge that doesnt work on out swing doors. The allen set lock screw can be still accessed with a small allen wrench outside the door. Loosen the allen screw, pop out the pin and bingo, easy access.
Explanation: when you close the door, it does not hide the removeable screw far enough behind the door. Dont buy this crap. Your best security is to buy a hindge that has no removable pin.
