In my opinion, your videos are well explained. You have pretty much covered every category about screen printing that comes to mind.. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much! I appreciate the very kind words. I enjoy teaching and comments like yours help keep me going ;) Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
@TheGollyWally Sure, most low mesh counts are white here in the States. Higher mesh counts have dyed mesh for high detail exposures. The dye prevents the light from scattering off the mesh fibers and causing diffusion. But for most low detail spot color prints, which we use lower mesh counts for, dyed mesh is not necessary. A halftone will do better on a higher mesh count like a 230 or higher which will be yellow or orange/amber in color. Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate your support!
LOL... thanks. Glad I could help out. I don’t really have any method for printing a multi-color shirt with out a multi-color press. Posters and transfers yes but tee shirts, I don’t know. You can do a split fountain by using more than one color ink on the same screen. You can do that one of two ways. Blending inks or using a design with separated elements. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
Reproducing a full color photograph from a litho print would be a challenge for most screen printers. I would not suggest attempting such a design unless you are very experienced in screen printing. That is CMYK process work. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
You're very welcome. You can get it from Saati on my Print Supplies page. Please check out my website for discount supplies that feature products I use in my videos. Link is on the RUclips channel page. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

Correct. You don’t want to abrade screens that have already been abraded. Degreasing the screen will improve your screen making skills. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
My pleasure. Oh it depends on the art really but generally speaking I might run CMYK on a 305 mesh. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! www.catspitproductionsllc.com/ - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
Abrader! I didnt know man. No where in this god forsaken kit does it say anything bout abrading the screen. I bet thats how they are still in buisness. Iam getting some tomorrow. One question. Whats like the most primitive form of making a 4 color design for a shirt? I dont have the cash to get a whole machine so, do you recomend any other form of screen sprinting press? As in like manual and by eye? Thank you and keep the good work!
Excelent Video Jon! very interesting,so there´s no "brushing" with the cleanning brush when reclaiming the screen? just spray the soap(degreaser) and rinse it? or it actually is some"brushing" but more softer?
Thanks for this video man. I'm having some real trouble with my screens. Both the emulsion staying on and weirdly with the emulsion completely coming off during wash. Sometimes it just won't come off and my screen becomes useless.
You're welcome. If the emulsion is coming off in certain spots then perhaps you have an adhesion problem. If you're saying some screens work and others don't then that is much harder to diagnose blind. I would need more detailed info an exactly what is happening there to even try. Thanks for watching! Oh yes, please do. You will find it easier to make screens and get off detail if you abrade the mesh some when first using brand new screens. There is a “micro grit” available from most print suppliers, like those on the Print Supplies page of the Catspit website, that will offer mesh abraders for mesh preparation. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
You're welcome! Glad I can help out through my videos. Probably not since that may be a bit rough. Instead when in a pinch use a touch of Ajax or Comet kitchen cleanser and just be careful not to scrub too much. Thanks for watching! Hey there, So I've got hybrid emulsion and for some reason, the image isn't washing out. I am exposing on a makshift exposure unit (flood light set up on a PVC rack). Usually it's about 11 mins and my screen is good. But with the hybrid emulsion it's barely washing out. Should I up the exposure time to 15 mins?Maybe it's under exposed? Thanks in advance for your help and please keep the videos coming!
If it barley washes out then it could be over exposed. If it's under exposed it will washout too fast losing detail or washout completely. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
Yes, you will use a brush to degrease and reclaim as demonstrated in my other videos. This video was just focusing on the 2 types but you will perform both with a brush and the appropriate chemicals as normal. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

Thank you for sharing your great knowledge. Where i can buy the 2 components Glue... the 'red glue ' or something similar for the same effect :) ? Thank you!
CkL.33 If you need the screen mesh adhesive I can sell it to you. It's an aerosol activator with a spreadable base. You spread the glue base over the stretched screen mesh and onto the frame. Then the spray activator is used to make the glue cure and harden. Contact me though my website if you're in the US and need assistance with the purchase. Thanks for watching. CatspitProductions Hello Friend. when I remove the emulsion, I'm getting with some yellow spots (like it was burned) in the drawing area. the zone that has been recorded, it is with some yellow spots. is what are the ghosts ?! Thank you!!
CkL.33 I'm not sure. Do you mean when you expose and washout the stencil? Maybe you have some ink haze or staining from the last job in the mesh. It's hard to say without seeing the screen or what you are doing there.
@TheGollyWally Sure, most low mesh counts are white here in the States. Higher mesh counts have dyed mesh for high detail exposures. I know about light scatter and why we use a yellow mesh. But what you say makes sense for spot colours. Screen printing is a very 'accommodating' medium. I work at a printers with 6,8 and 10 col machines. However I come from 20 years in litho print. I enjoy your vids and you are entertaining as well as informative. Cheers
TheGollyWally @TheGollyWally Awesome, I’m glad you found me. It’s true the process is dynamic and works in many different ways. I did some litho work in college for my degree. Cool stuff. I also worked with a flexo printer many moons ago. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

ok new question, how can i take a drawing from my art book that has sometime many different colors to screen
Thank you so much about this video. I learn alot from it. I just wonder where to buy the photo emulsion from?
we had to learn the hard way haha our first new screen peeled in the wash booth .....trial and error.
So there are two types of screens ,new and used .....preparation differs on each....
