    Add 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract also known as GSD to make it antibacterial and not be growing molds.

    this is an awesome idea! i am by no means an expert, but i would recommend making this fresh each time i use it, instead of making it in bulk and storing it in the cabinet or fridge. it only takes half a day for a tap-water-based, homemade product to become populated with pathogens...! finally, i love essential oils! they are so powerful!! which is why you should remember to RINSE YOUR MOUTH AND SPIT THIS OUT after you use it, like normal mouthwash! essential oils, even FDA-approved "GRAS" oils like mint and melaluca/TT, are not safe for everyday consumption

    As I think I commented before, I've been using an oil based mouthwash and oil pulling. I was thinking I might use an old kombucha bottle to start storing it in because the dark glass is similar to the dark glass bottles that essential oils come in to protect them from light damage. Is that a sound idea?

    I thought I'd try one of those (because that's what most usually are) but then I thought of cinnamon (like the big red gum) and might try that if it even exists. I didn't know that there were different grades of oil and have to look for the right kind (I think I used the wrong kind in a diy deodorant recipe and caused myself irritation)..

    Just made this. It's actually not very good sorry Shelbi. I find it just like soda water. Doesnt freshen your mouth at all and I actually used more peppermint accidentally. Very bland. Gutted because i hate buying plastic. Have any of you had the same experience?. Glad it works for you and Madison tho..

    Although this would probably make your mouth feel fresh and maybe kill some germs, I think the alcohol and fluoride in store bought mouth wash are the more important ingredients for tooth health and preventing cavities. It's important to note that this cutesy DIY recipe is inferior in that regard, and it's probably better to consult your dentist before making the switch.

    • @Shelbizleee
      @Shelbizleee  6 лет назад +1

      +yourchildhoodneighbor I didn't do it bc it's "cutesy." My dentist knows, and there is fluoride in the water ✌🏽️

    • @altosaxplayer63
      @altosaxplayer63 6 лет назад

      Well it's good that your dentist is aware and ok with this option for you, I just think it's important to note that not everyone's dentist/teeth would agree. For example, some people with deeper molar grooves need extra fluoride in mouthwash to prevent cavities. And in since only~75% of the U.S. has access to fluoridated water, people who aren't keeping up with their dental health or following a dentist's instructions might damage their mouth in switching from store bought mouthwash to this DIY version.

    • @George7763
      @George7763 5 лет назад

      I sure would like to see some citations that do show a difference between those who use fluoride and those who don't.

    Jesus loves you, he died on the cross for you so you may have eternal life God bless you
    Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
    3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
    Only Christ saves Not works, Faith..
