As part of my wonder round Whitehall I visit a number of locations with Police on scene pretty early on.
We not only find some of our old friends from old audits we find some our new ones from more recent visits also.
1 thing I will say is some civil servants really do have a lot to answer for with the way they interact with the tax paying public. Not a good look at all.

I just don't get why these people think I can't watch a video, from a public place, of what can be seen of buildings that I help pay for (and security costs). My disability means I can't do this myself, can't travel much, so thanks for your videos TLA.
Jeez the amount of public sector workers that take it upon themselves to be some sort of authority figure is ridiculous.
Whenever a cop says "You are wearing a balaclava..." is "6 months ago you would have said why are you not wearing a mask."

It never ceases to amaze me how much money is spent to employ people to stand around doing absolutely nothing. They do of course wear high viz vests or lanyards, but store dummies could do the same and be so much cheaper!

The Ministry of Defence Police has around 3,000 officers and they make around 50 arrests per year. Easy money.

MOD police set the tone from question one. In what way is it a police matter if a man "engages with people leaving a building"? And i'd personally be less concerned with a man with a camera who's wearing a balaclava than a man with a gun, finger adjacent to the trigger!
I'd bet that there is not a single case on the planet of a person armed with a camera setting out to physically harm anyone as he collects photons. If it's happened, it's an extremely rare occurrence.

Well that was a trip down memory lane. I worked at the MOD building for some 17 years in a nuclear bunker way down underneath it. Had a tour of Downing St etc. I retired now so very entertaining......

What secret security procedures can you see? Guards standing around, checking ID's/passes, lifting boom gates? A fat old guy with a crutch who thinks he's secret squirrel? To be completely honest I can understand people reacting to someone stood in front of the MOD with a camera and recording as it’s not generally a common occurrence. MOD police handled it fine though.
