    ABOUT:
Slow and easy Russian conversation practice for beginners | Basic Russian speaking & listening. This video is all about Russian conversation practice for beginners. I´ll be teaching you very basic conversational Russian phrases that every beginner should know. Each phrase or sentence will be pronounced three times - first, in slow Russian, then, in very slow Russian so that you can clearly hear literally every single sound. Finally, the last time I´ll pronounce the phrase in regular spoken speed. I´ll leave plenty of pauses for you to practice with me out loud. This is an amazing lesson for you to practice both your Russian speaking and listening skills.

This an excellent beginner tutorial. One suggestion to make it better..... in between the Russian phrase and the final English translation, the Russian should be translated literally. For example:- Большое спасибо literally means "big thanks", the ideal English translation you have listed is "Thank you very much". As a beginner it would help A LOT to see the literal translation first, then the ideal English translation.
It would help in vocabulary building, and in understanding the word order of Russian phrases.

For both of us linguists and/or analytical you may be right, but for most people it would make the process a bit clumsy...

    • @Kittyququmber
      @Kittyququmber 2 года назад

Actually I agree with a literal translation. Bcs otherwise the beginner does not learn what the actual words mean. For example to say “are you thirsty” in Russian really means in literal translation “do you want to drink”. There is a totally different word for “thirsty”. A beginner will get totally confused. Then give an example of the use of the word thirsty like translate “he looks thirsty”. @@yehuditvashdi-grunblatt6914

Yes, this video was useful for me, even though I regard myself as B1-B2. I like that it merely recites each message, first slowly and then normally. I have seen annoying videos from others, that waste my time over-explaining sentences in English, including cracking jokes. At first I accepted it, but soon I avoided such videos. Thank you for doing this.

I hope you make more videos like this one! Saying them 3 times at different speeds in the video truly aids understanding. The cheat sheet is most welcome! My favorite phrase is one I guess I didn't fully understand how to say in Russian. I thought the phrase "Think about it" was simply Подумай об этом. So I'm glad to see a list of phrases that show how to say these short and useful phrases correctly.

Excellent video. Subscribed. Yes, yes, yes, please make many more videos such as this one. I suggest focusing on different situations for each video: one friend introduces a third person to a friend (and how introduced person responds); café and restaurant ordering; asking and receiving directions; the weather; Maybe a Russian talking to a Russian-speaking foreigner about greatness of Dostoyevsky, Pushkin, and well, Tolstoy, though not as great, right? Chekhov?; brief history of Moscow; brief history of St. Petersburg; only a few topics I'd like to learn slowly to speak about. Thanks.

I plan to visit Russia for the first time next summer and am beginning to prepare for my trip by re-learning enough Russian to be able to ask basic questions and carry on a very simple conversation in it. Thanks for the video. It's great to hear a REAL person saying the words and not a robot voice )) my big frustration is that I try sooooo hard to remember stuff (for a long time now) and when i close my eyes and just listen, there are still so many (more than 50%) words or phrases that 1) i still dont know or 2) they are familiar but i cant automatically know what they are so I need to open my eyes to read your words. Oh well, I guess more practice needed )) And yes, I am sure someone (as they have on other videos) will comment and say that "these are basic, please give something harder", but I will only be saying that when I have mastered all that you have given in these "basic" (but still hard for me), wonderful lessons. May I ask, ......... any suggestions as to how to climb over the wall from knowing a bunch of words to being able to absorb what people are saying in a conversation? I know "practice practice practice" is the most obvious way, but are there any "techniques" to make the practice more efficient please? EDIT!!! I just saw that I had commented 7 months ago ))) Yep, I still think it is a great video ))))))))

Hey, thanks for your feedback! I´m glad you came back 7 months later and still think it´s a great video))) As for your question, I´m afraid there is no magic technique to practice "correctly". Just practice as much as you can until it finally clicks and you´re able to understand spoken Russian. Sorry for not being helpful but it really is just a matter of practice!

Very good effort as far as pronunciation is concerned but 3 suggestions.
Number 1. Write the russian in English alphabets like this.
    "Paidum samnoi"
    2. Your words are difficult.
    Dictionary says
    "Idti samnoi"
    3. Please give only simple verbs and nouns.
Conjugation we will learn when we go and speak and listen to russian in Russia.
    Thanks, I appreciate your effort.👍
