These kind of videos are great, it’s nice to hear a non native speaker speak with you in such a way. Her accent sounds great as well, perhaps a native speaker could weigh in here but it sounds really good to me.
It’s pretty good but I feel like she could benefit from someone sitting with her and really drilling the pronunciations of words. Russian is very hard to pronounce for the English tongue, you have to build different muscle memory for Russian words. She’s understandable and she’s doing good, but I also think she could be even better with more help. :)
Большое спасибо, Victoria! You give me hope; I appreciate you both taking the time to teach and share with us. Much love 💚 I can see how proud your husband is of your learning.
It's really helpful to see someone learning the language try to get through a conversation. It's slow enough to follow and shows a lot of filler words to help make complete thoughts but isn't so slow that it's boring like some videos. Props to you Victoria!
This was super entertaining and helpful. As a beginner it's terrifying to try and speak so it was encouraging to see somebody else do it and not die LOL. Also the dynamic between you two made it fun and natural, not boring and stilted like most example dialogue videos.
Oh my goodness, this is so wholesome, I'm also learning Russian. I live in Moscow, so my Russian is slightly better than Victoria's here but how I wish I could have a partner to help me improve like this. Great job!
I just saw the first video and once again gotta compliment your wife..she is beautiful smart and sweet woman...and you are cute intelligent and nice man...thank you for showing us these conversations with not only a non native Russian learner who is a beginner but for also allowing us to meet your wife.
Dudeeeee! I love you two teaching! I am a beginner-beginner. You both inspire me to keep going, accept and learn for my mistakes. I wanna be Victoria-like.😎 Victoria is dope!
Wow, it's amazing to see progress in not only her but in me. I understood every word in this video and have come a long way. I am still learning, but i am conversational now, which makes me happy. Congrats to you, Victoria, stay consistent, and good luck. Thank you, Fedor, for the videos. 🤙
This reminds me of myself. I've learned so many words but when I speak with my Russian partner, I seem to forget! This reminds me, preparation is key! Also, I should enjoy the journey and not get too frustrated 😅
Learning French in school I could read novels and write notes for my other classes in it, but conversing it was much less competent. I'm trying with Russian to listen to conversations more and this is so helpful, since it's natural and not "perfect"
Victoria, as y’all pointed out, you have to keep up with the homework and stay ahead of the game. You also have to factor in that people don’t speak clearly or mumble or have regional accent. Think of an English learner in Alabama or Mississippi, good luck to him or her! In my case, reading helped me learn English and expand my vocabulary, and look at me now doing IRS form 1040 and reading the instructions therefor.
I like these videos with Victoria as I have been measuring my progress alongside her since I started and its wonderful to see how be both grow and evolve in the Russian language.
I studied Russian at university and did a one year course at MGY: in both cases, the teachers were absolutely awful and made me feel like an idiot. I now work as an English teacher and always try and make the type of classes I would’ve liked to have had. Thanks do much for making such fun videos, your encouragement and positivity makes the world of difference and I’m sure you’ve helped so many people. I’m definitely going to sign up to one of your courses. Also, your wife’s pronunciation and intonation is GREAT!
I love, love, love this. It's great to see practice with a learner. I'm not currently learning Russian, but I am learning Ukrainian and plan on learning Russian afterwards, though I did start learning Russia before I did Ukrainian. I am understanding some of what's being said, and it's so exciting!
Aww your wife is lovely, and sounds like she’s doing great learning Russian! Thank you both for putting this video together, super helpful. Tho Im now thinking I will have to find a nice Russian husband so I can have similar practice conversations all day long!! 😆
She’s doing a great job!! I’ve been studying for years and am honestly quite hard on my own speaking skills but here I am saying she’s doing great and I’m probably at a higher level - I need to get out there and stop being afraid of speaking!
I'm in the same position - 3rd year, but for me I think I sound like a Bond villain when I pronounce Russia words correctly. Persistence will bring confidence.
This is a great help Victoria you’re really cool - I’m taking on board your tips - Fedor’s videos are brill and I’ve learned so much -спасибо to you both 😊
I love these videos. Keep up the good work. Consistency and commitment is key. I try to set aside one or 2 hours every day to study Russian. I can see the progression and it's amazing. Actually I surprise myself. Victoria you are doing great
I understand much better than I can speak, listening is easier because even if you don't understand everything you can pick out enough words to get the point. The Russian language can be like performing Olympic level gymnastics for an English speaking tongue and I had a few experiences which knocked my confidence. Recently I started practicing with google translate, it's not perfect by any means but I found it useful to speak phrases that are important to me or just things that pop in my head, I can see which words are always understood, which need more practice.
Victoria is getting better real fast. But off course she cheats because she hears the Russian language every day and is married to the best language teacher on RUclips ;-). I understood about 80%, so I myself am improving also, which is good to know, because it shows me that I do make progress, even if it doesn't always feel like that.
@@jeygee3736 I’m ashamed 😔 I try to learn but it just doesn’t stick. I can understand few words but not sentences. Because when spoken I hear different words. My gf always gets annoyed. Guess some people or maybe just me Wasn’t blessed with the multi language brain 🧠
her accent can sometimes sound indistinguishable from one's by female native which has this very soft and emotional Russian tone, reminds me much like to have tonal perfection in Chinese.

Okay, Fedor, hello my friend. I have enjoyed learning Russian from your videos for a couple of years now (and I am always impressed by how well you speak English). I think that one day I will sign-up for your be fluent camp. With that said, I have a completely off topic comment/question: have your arms gotten bigger bro?!! I see you in this video and it looks like you have some gorilla arms!! Good for you homie. Do you hit the gym? I've been hitting the gym, but my family is skinny, so my arms don't grow so big. Peace!
She is adorable and a great example for beginning and intermediate students alike. Good idea to share a conversation like this.
This is so cool! I am always too embarrassed to try and speak Russian, so it's nice to see a beginner do it. :)
Don't be embarassed. The very fact that you are learning is very pleasant.
I used to feel the same way. But now I work with a teacher and we focus on speaking. Dont be afraid to try. The more you do it the better it gets
Jeez I thought it’s my comment bc of the profile picture

I'm a beginner, thanks for all the video. I'm from Singapore. I know how to sing a few songs but I still need more improvement for speech.
