Outstanding review Vic! I got tickets for Friday. My teenage boys and I are so excited. The book was such an important part of my childhood. Did you read it as a kid?
Saw this in IMAX 70mm on Thursday and it blew my mind. I agree with all your points, Vic! I am very lucky to have had the pleasure of seeing it on IMAX film.
This is Villenueve's LOTR: Two Towers and Empire Strikes Back. A wonderful accomplishment of cinema. I'll never forget that viewing!
Great review. First Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and now this movie. What a combo for making fans ecstatic in the new year and I hope it continues.
I saw Dune 2 for $7 a couple of weeks ago. It blew the last movie out of the water. The arena scene stole the show for me. I was chirpin like a baby bird due to how cool it was. Some dude behind me was snoring like a machine and I thought he missed out big time. Thank you for your amazing work! You have always been quite the wordsmith.
Thanks for the enjoyable review--can't wait to see part two! Not sure if you've seen the show "Silo" on Apple TV+ but Rebecca Ferguson is wonderful in that, too. Would also love to see you review "From" on MGM+. Two very strong tv shows ("Silo" and "From") and the latest two "Dune" movies give me hope that incredible sci-fi shows still have a bright future. I know, I know, your time is limited but please give those two shows a shot if you get a break.
On behalf of Denis Villeneuve, thank you for pronouncing his name correctly.
It still surprises that Dave Bautista actually is an actually an actor that can add well & versatile. Not like John who only screams or Rock who is the same character every time. Definitely a great decision for him to have been part of the series.
It’s funny cuz I totally hear what you and everyone else are saying but Josh Brolin isn’t a very big guy he just presents like he is. Only 5 10 actually. Great review once again Vic!
Still Love Sting as Feyd and also huge fan of Bautista - Beast
Thanks for the review! Can't wait to see the movie.
I really enjoyed it, but I think I liked part 1 better. Much better pacing, part 2 felt all over the place in the latter half.
I feel like epics like this need to be made into a series to really do it justice. Peter Jackson was a miracle worker creating LOTR trilogy and each of those films are much longer than Dune 1 and 2.
I love a great theatre experience as much as the next person, but I think great directors like Villneuve need to take a different approach when tackling epics Sci fi and or fantasy worlds.
Am very much looking forward to seeing this.
Not sure if you have spoilers so just playing in the background sound off. Cant wait to watch it.
'Sup, going to see it on Saturday. I expect a lot of loud explosions...
Missed the first one and can't find it streaming anywhere. This review makes me want to buy it to see what I missed.
It's really good. Just buy the disk and watch it in 4k
It’s been on hulu for awhile now
Can't really get into the lore.
I’ll stick to David Lynch’s 1984 original. Now that WAS a masterpiece.
Word
Yeah ok haha
I tried but couldn't get through this today. Sorry.
I had heard that it was mediocre or good but not amazing and far from a masterpiece. Maybe you have rose-colored glasses?
@@MsHojat You heard? Oh, so you are able to give your opinion? Watch it for yourself and perhaps some more David Lynch films (do you even know who he is?, and don’t go by Wikipedia or similar.
