- Transporting Giant Windmill Parts. We saw several loads of these giant windmill parts being transported on the highway through Montana. When we drove south we saw some, and then on our drive home, we got a chance to walk around them at a rest stop late in the day when they had parked for the night. These blades are about 90 paces long. Oversized load is an understatement!

😀😮 That’s a Huge Load
Pretty big hey? Fun to see up close
My brother works for a crane outfit that used to put them windmills up. Crazy how inefficient and uneffective they are in our mountains up here where the winds are constantly changing direction. The mills around them were constantly turning, then shutting down to change direction to catch the optimal wind again. Says a bunch of them had oil puking out of their gear boxes onto the ground and they weren’t even making ten years of their twenty year lifespan. Junk.
Scam. Feel green but it's subsidies.

Australian example.
@@lovesloudcars yep, the operators on the field said without subsidies they’d never would’ve been built.
@chadtosh6831 personally I believe it's nothing but a scam. Our taxes and power bills go up to provide welfare for an intentionally sinking ship. The pedo Cuban and friends are enemies of truth.
@@lovesloudcars it sure is. Lots of politicians lining the pockets of family and friends on the backs of an ever shrinking workforce paying tax to support the whole mess. Makes a guy sick to be honest to think about it too much.
The teeth reduce the noise and kill anything that gets in it's way. Long azz load for sure. Like you said not overly heavy but darn long. Lots of these on the drive from Merida to the beach. I got some on footage but I wanted to get some drone footage of one but I never did, was prob for the best lol
As long as the taxpayers are unaware it's a losing proposition with subsidies creating the profits, we'll continue to see more of them.
they dont look that big when up,they have a lot miles out in the sea ,dont reduce the price of electric though, like they led us to belive, keeps going up
Yes. I'm familiar with the economics of them. They don't actually contribute to the grid when it's needed, it's inconsistent and don't actually pay for themselves. Kind of a scam really. The profits are in the subsidies, which means taxpayers are footing the bill of an albatross around their neck. Increased power bills to compensate yet, a net loss to "feel or look green".

Not sure if the link will work, but this is Australia. I'd bet money it's exactly the same everywhere
@@lovesloudcars that is interesting same happening here a big scam ,we have elections hope our conmen are kicked out but the next lot are the same and just as bad ,we see what happens in the elections hope people wake up and vote for another party as labour and conservatives are just like other
We see these monsters on the Maine Turnpike occasionally. Sure are a sight!
They are cool. Too bad they're not really capable of justifying themselves without subsidies.
Taxpayers providing the profit margin for a private business doesn't seem much different than a wealth transfer.
But I digress... they are cool to see.
@@lovesloudcars . Agreed. Likely the same basic scenario down here.
