In the video against the iPhone it took 25 seconds to boot up, which is much slower then the iPhone. In this video it takes 16.5 seconds which would be faster then the iPhone (against mi 11 it took 17.5). Let's be honest, between these two phones, nobody is going to pick based on a few fractions of a second in loading difference, etc.. both are clearly fantastic. It will come down to camera, design, features, screen, battery life, internet speeds, network compatibility, etc.. where imo the Sony still wins most of those categories, but both are pretty great.
Aside from sd slot and screen resolution the rog win in almost everything. The only other exception being Verizon or sprint compatibility. Even then the lg v60 is better in most other ways just like the rog. Both are better in Speakers, headphone audio,, brightness, battery, v60 heat Sony in 5g tests, etc. Even comparable on camera with both. And rog has far better performance longevity and cooling.
Hey Nick, thank you for making so many videos on the Xperia. I do have two questions. How long does the battery last you? Does it easily make it until the end of the day or not? And the other thing, how often does the phone overheats? Should we be worried about that? These are the two main things that are making it hard to decide if I want to invest in this phone. Thank you!
subs : Sony is just crushing all the ultimates insanely ... What would you say about that ? Nick : 🤔😕☹️😬🤐🤫🤫🤫 wait a minute surprises are coming ...so stay tuned with me 😛😋😉🤭
Crushing insanely? It opened apps a tiny hair quicker. Do a real performance test and rog comes out way ahead. While being better at almost every other aspect as well except 4k
Damn Sony, and the ROG is meant to be faster because they claim it has an OC CPU and a dedicated gaming mode. Now we need to know which one keeps the phone cooler when gaming . Can you please make that test ?
Anyone else notice the difference in boot speed of the 1 III between this video and the one vs the 12 Pro Max? It's like 5 seconds and here it's faster than the 12 Pro Max.
This video has nothing to do with gaming, run CPU throttle test on both devices and you'll get to know which device is meant for gaming. If you want a phone that open apps quickly, just buy iPhones.
@@deejay4058 if you want an unethically manufactured, unrepairable device, just buy iPhones. It should be noted that TechNick did an Xperia vs. the new iPhone pro keyword spammer thing benchmark just like the one in this video, and the Xperia won with ease. For the majority of tasks that you might use a phone for, the Xperia is clearly superior to the ROG phone and any iPhone.
@@youtubeairways8646 You didn't get my point . ROG phone is built for gaming which is where the real performance of a mobile device is tested where majority of phones like this xperia will end up throttling when the processor is pushed to its limits . For opening apps quickly , you can rely on iphones as they use nvme based storage and will outperform the android phones in most cases , not that I'm implying this will make the games run faster and keep the device cooler , that's the part where we would see the real-world performance which is completely skipped in videos like these , the biggest joke here is that using a phone like Rog 5 that tamed Snapdragon 888 overheating issue in a way , it doesn't even get to flex its muscle , the other sad part is , to unlock the real high performance mode of Rog Phone 5 , need to enable advanced mode and max out all performance metrics , Rog doesn't run at full speed even with Xmode enabled . It's so easy to manipulate people on RUclips . The tasks that technik performed don't even require high end phones like these , any modern mid range phone with an optimised OS will do fine , no one buys these expensive phones to open apps half a second faster . You obviously are not aware of how powerful ROG Phone 5 is . I've owned two xperia phones in the past , Sony sets a relatively low thermal limit for their devices as compared to their Chinese competitors and they end up throttling hard during summer season .
@@deejay4058 where did you hear about modern Xperias throttling? I've heard that the vapor chamber design keeps this under control, and of course you can get an external phone cooler like the one that comes with the ROG Phone 5 to combat temperatures anyway. You mentioned that the ROG phone has performance modes that should unlock greater performance. So does the Sony. I use an Xperia XZ Premium, a smartphone that was released four years ago. It's never experienced throttling to an extent that it would impact any game that I play at maxed out settings, or any synthetic benchmark that I've run. Regarding app opening, benchmarks clearly show that the Xperia is faster than the iPhone. This is demonstrated in TechNick's fifth latest video as of 25/07/21 (link: ruclips.net/video/JMyciDXZEe8/видео.html ). Note that high-end PCs can't use the full capabilities of NVME or even SATA in real-world tasks, let alone a cheaply made smartphone. Also keep in mind the numerous performance-boosting custom ROMs that are available for Xperia devices, as they are very modifiable/open-source in nature. The I mk. III probably doesn't have many yet, but many older Xperias do. In fact, Sony has an official open devices program for enthusiasts to keep no longer supported devices up to date.
ROG 5 : pick me if you want a gaming phone with beast performance Xperia 1 III : i am THE GAME boi :D damn, Sony always able to produce such a beast smartphone but why do they sucks on marketing and after sales market ???
Uh yeah. Cause it whoops Sony. OK Sony opens apps a tiny hair quicker. But a real performance test would show far greater differences and in favor of rog. Which is also better in display brightness, speakers, headphone audio, battery, and even still comparable in camera
hey nick, how are the speakers on the xperia compared to the ROG 5? the rog 5 and mi 11 ultra arguably have the best speakers on a smartphone and i want to know how the xperia 1 iii stacks up against them
For people who don't know, rog phone 5's xmode is broken, it underclocks the processor, to get the best out of it, you need to enable advanced mode and manually max out cpu, gpu, ram parameters. Some people assume rog phone 5 always stays in performance, that's not true but yeah you can force it.

@@s89kw yeah i have iPhone Apple watch apple tv airpods pro so its truly an amazing experience how the whole devices work together so its realy hard to change that but if I’m going to buy an android phone it definitely will be Sony Xperia
@@s89kw so true,. I like pixel but they have cheap hardware
Sony King is the planet
Yup💪
As Sony user my self,im not so shock with that result...😁✌️
Undefeated 🔥
Next should be
Red magic 6 pro vs sony
Nice video! always putting in so much effort
Damn you cute
Damn Sony, and the ROG is meant to be faster because they claim it has an OC CPU and a dedicated gaming mode. Now we need to know which one keeps the phone cooler when gaming . Can you please make that test ?
Anyone else notice the difference in boot speed of the 1 III between this video and the one vs the 12 Pro Max? It's like 5 seconds and here it's faster than the 12 Pro Max.
Yup. I noticed. 1 iii faster this time than before (vs 12 pro max).
That's a SONY smartphone. The technological masterpieces doesn't like this smartphone.
What? Over priced and 2-7 years behind other phones in key aspects? And barely properly available? Yes thats a Sony phone.
Watching this with my 3y.o xperia xz premium. 💪💪💪
I own this phone xz Premium was awesome and very fast in its time and now I own mark 2 And im waiting for my Mark 3 to get it
Sony Xperia kills every phone 🤯🤤
Sony is best
Yup💪
Looks like that performance-boosting RGB couldn't save ROG this time round..
@@youtubeairways8646 check the performance section of its gsmarena review . It's one of the worst performing Snapdragon 888 phone .
Japan always wins🔥🔥🖤
If it was MKBHD channel, Sony would lose speed test against apple and Samsung lol 😂😂😂
He only wants apple and Samsung to win.
SONY FTW AGAIN 💪
agreed
Sony Wow!!! very impressive indeed
@Nick now you are influencing me to buy Xperia mark 1 lll
Xperia is very impressive. Will get it soon.
Thanks for your review, I'm 99.97% decided to buy Xperia, over iPhone 14 for gaming phone! Notchless screen = superb gaming experience: Asphalt 8 Airborne ❌ CODM ❌ Apex Legends Mobile ❤️
ROG 5 : pick me if you want a gaming phone with beast performance
Xperia 1 III : i am THE GAME boi :D
damn, Sony always able to produce such a beast smartphone but why do they sucks on marketing and after sales market ???
Sony be like: "Is this your king?!"
and also sony : imma give 1 year software update
@@ezronthelegend they changed that to 3 Years
Uh yeah. Cause it whoops Sony. OK Sony opens apps a tiny hair quicker. But a real performance test would show far greater differences and in favor of rog. Which is also better in display brightness, speakers, headphone audio, battery, and even still comparable in camera
These are the difference we don't notice in daily life. Both are beast devices.
We are waiting For Sony 1mark3 vs Red majic 6 and Sony 1mark3 vs Huawei mate40pro plus ....Love from pakistan
Finally u are back from your holiday trip
Sony vs OnePlus now 🔥🔥
Sony Is Gonna Send It In Trash 😂😂🤣
Other brand: nobody cares if you're the fastest, you're not going to sell well.
Sony - we don't care $1300, buy it or not....we only have 1000 available lol

hey nick, how are the speakers on the xperia compared to the ROG 5? the rog 5 and mi 11 ultra arguably have the best speakers on a smartphone and i want to know how the xperia 1 iii stacks up against them
Didn't expect that

Sony Xperia 1 iii is King of All Time 💪

How’s ur vacation bruh 😎
Sony Xperia 1 Mark lll open the game faster than the "✌🏻gaming phone✌🏻" Asus RoG5
Did you check the power mode settings are still on xmode after reboot? Sometimes after reboot it would reset to default performance profile
No the x mode was off
@@QuarterlyGod then why he didn't check?? And why he rebooted after turning it on..he could have turned it on after the rebooting test..so why??
@@songoku9094 oh bro he is sponsored by Sony that's why
For people who don't know, rog phone 5's xmode is broken, it underclocks the processor, to get the best out of it, you need to enable advanced mode and manually max out cpu, gpu, ram parameters. Some people assume rog phone 5 always stays in performance, that's not true but yeah you can force it.
Just goes to show to NEVER underestimate Sony phones
2021 killer
Giving me flashbacks of the 2017 Speed King (XZ Premium).
That's why I love Sony phone's..👍
Not impressed by how the battery is constantly draining on the Xperia during the test, other than that and the charging speed it is indeed an awesome phone to have!
It has the highest pixel and 120hz so not surprised...if it was full hd then it's a problem
@@The-Heart-Will-Testify it does not run on 4k at all times, otherwise the battery will be dead in a few minutes. It only run on 4k when there's an actual 4k content on the screen, A photo or a video.
Nick please Unbox and Review Xperia Pro ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Sony is beast indeed. Any chance of Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro battery test. It’s no where to be found in RUclips nor the internet. I am actually considering it but it’s down to battery and I have no where to go to see this. Please, please, please Nick 😇
