Harness Training a Tegu!

Lets see if a tegu can start to be trained to wear a harness like a dog? For the second time trying this, Bowser did a far better job then the first! I always take tiny victories as wins! Tegus are very intelligent and can be trained to do basic "tricks" that dogs can learn. There are lots of videos were tegus are on leashes / harnesses, this is how to start introduce tegus to leashes/ harnesses! Obviously there are multiple ways how to teach them, but this is the way I have found success. Slowly and with a foundation is best!

Ooooo he's being very gentle. He's watching out for you. Trust him more take a bite or two. Trust me and teach him

My tegu don't like leash, too. He always uses one of his back leg to scratch it when the leash's there. Maybe it takes time for them to get used to the leash.
