    Is the dishsoap necessary if the neem oil already is emulsified?

    • @onlyplants
      @onlyplants  Месяц назад

      No need to if its emulsified. But soap can also do damage to armor of scale or mealy bugs if they are present 😀

  • @jamesoconnell30
    @jamesoconnell30 26 дней назад +1

    I can't ever get it to emulsify with this method. Have you tried opening the lid and seeing if the beads of oil have actually dispersed? Many thanks in advance!

    • @onlyplants
      @onlyplants  26 дней назад +1

      You’ll have to shake the bottle in between the sprays unfortunately 🥹 it does not emulsify 100% and certainly for for a long period of time. They will separate eventually.

      @@onlyplants thank you! Someone told me you can make a slurry with dish soap and neem oil, then add hot water, but I didn't have any luck with that either.

    My most hated pest is milybug... They have that white fuzzy protection on them which seems like Magnitos helmet unbreakable. Soap helps to disarming that fuzzy stuff and neem oil penetrates the bug.. it's magic which produces fart smell but it's ok keep the plat in ventilated place so it's not that bad.

    Can neem oil burn new leaves? I’ve used that recipe and the new leaves are unfurling with a faded color 💔

    • @onlyplants
      @onlyplants  2 месяца назад

      Yes they can, if they arent diluted or mixed properly. They have to be mixed into soapy water at 1-3% concentration and shaked well.
      Then, you should also apply in the evening as they opens up the plants stomatas (their eyes essentially)

    How often would you recommend using this spray for existing infections and also just a preventative?

    • @onlyplants
      @onlyplants  3 месяца назад +1

      Depends on too many variables… humidity airflow and temperature. I do it every 1-2 months or so but I think thats not often enough

    Do neem oil stain the wall or any surface? And how do you prevent oil from clogging the spray nozzle?

    • @onlyplants
      @onlyplants  3 месяца назад +1

      If you dont shake it well enough, the last bit in the bottle can leave stain 🥲 shaking it often especially before each spray is the best way to prevent clogging. When evenly distributed they should be smooth

      @@onlyplants I use Dr. Woods pure castile soap. One with peppermint oil & one with Tea tree oil. It isn’t harmful to the plants because there are no chemicals or surfactants. I mix them with alcohol & hydrogen peroxide in water. Works great with no risks to the plants.
