I keep hearing its OP but I hated it when I tried it. still I can't say if it needs a buff or not I just might hate the changes from World is all. I don't use it. whether I use it in sunbreak remains to be seen if I now enjoy it with the changes. Currently exploding faces with gunlance.
@@byronbarrientos8471 They added alot of QOL, animation cancels, heck they even removed hot/cold potions. Why is flinch free still a thing. Flinch free doesn't help my blocking and guardpoints can still be triggered by other players despite having flinch free.

@@byronbarrientos8471 It's a balancing mechanic so that players will be forced out to gather around the enemies hit spot.. And if you still decide to do so putting it in your armor is fairly cheap.
You know that weapon? Yeah, that one. The one most fans said was too powerful? Well we gave it an ability that doubles its damage. And also stops the power gage from decreasing. Have fun!
Back then before Rise came out, wasn't the devs talking about wanting players to try out different weapons? If so, this isn't exactly motivating players to branch out if they keep wanting to give love to one weapon while neglecting the others essentially.

I don’t think anybody realizes that the Charge Slash is actually the Crescent Slash From Frontier for Long Sword. It’s Chargeable and Does Massive Damage.
Longsword hunters should know that we who main other melee weapons do not hate LS mains. (maybe hammer mains do hate because some refuse flinch free) We hate that developers only get creative, buff and introduce fun ways to play with the LS, leaving other 10 melee weapons behind. You know my beloved CB was very strong once when it freshly debuted, not broken like the Rise iteration of LS however but yes it was very strong, even then it couldn't hold candle to how ranged weapons were busted, (ranged weapons were always busted) developers quite literally nerfed it to the ground in the expansion, no balancing, no tuning down, just straight nerfed it to the ground in the next game as well, didn't elaborate and left it like that. CB never quite recovered ever since after that and developers are convinced that if they give it anything more it will break the game.... Have you seen the size of the phial hitbox in Rise for pity's sake? It's smaller than the squirrel nuts, we asked and we kept asking but developers didn't fix that. Instead they gave us another trash silkbind that is inferior to CPP. These are sad times to be a CB main, i think i could speak for the Gunlance and Lance as well. They have no covid excuse for lack of everything in the expansion, if they can make LS fun, why not other weapons? They can always delete all the weapons and make MH games with LS as the only weapon with this kind of shi+y and lazy behavior.
As an LS Main Hunter, this is very comforting to know this that we, the users and hunters that like the weapon, aren't hated. While watching the other trailers leading up to LS' reveal, I couldn't help but feel how the others felt lackluster and should've def deserved more than LS. The only other two weapons that had me hyped up being IG and SnS. Especially with me learning CB in MHW: Iceborne (because CB looked so cool in Iceborne and is honestly my favorite weapon in that game), I would've loved to see something like Energy Blade make a return to Sunbreak but unfortunately Capcom doubled up on the Counters on CB instead of giving them a cool move or increasing the range/explosions from CB (because holy crap it's so small compared to MHW). It's not that fun when you're the *only* flashy one on the hunt. My only hope is that Capcom surprises everyone else with flashy moves that can be discovered in the quests/hunts to come in which weren't revealed in the trailers we were given.
I'm curious about what you said, call it a nitpick. In which expansion did they nerf CB into the ground? Pretty sure you meant new release and not expansion. CB debuted in 4 and we saw it in the west in 4U. It was buffed from 4 to 4U. Then X/Gen happened and it was nerfed through the ground into oblivion (Bushido style was still fun though). GU gave us Valor style which was nice but the nerfs were still there. CB was basically brought back to 4U levels with a few tweaks and made better in some areas in World and Iceborne.

I remembered when I picked up the ls back in mh3. Back then we still got the piss about tripping up everyone and that was fair. In world I thought the counter was our way of getting compensation for the hate we got although every normal ls main understood to that point they had to position on the tail of the monster. In rise, I wished we would just get shit about the tripping and not being Capcoms favorite child. I shouldn't feel like Im about to committing a warcrime, just because I want to play my main weapon from when I was a kid.

Give me a Lance about 3/4’s it’s length, take away the shield but buff it’s speed up. Change block commands to a parry/counter system that you get semi-permanent buffs for successfully parrying. Call it Long Spear.
There’s just one thing I’m curious now. If quick sheath affects that new special sheath long sheathing animation longsword is on ultra instinct level of broken.

It's getting more and more stylish to play the weapon and I personally don't really care if it's broken or not, I main multiple weapons cuz of how they feel in my hand, or how cool they are, not cuz of the meta or whatever (even tho I feel bad for some weapons getting kinda forgotten by Capcom) Oh and I love how much people are pissed at it lmao, it is so funny to me

Yeah for sure ! People tend to focus too much on how balanced or broken weapons are and maybe forget to have fun, this isn't a competitive game (as for the flinch problem, I don't believe it's the LS users' fault to trip people as much as i dont believe it's the Hammer users' to make people go swoosh in the air, this is something Capcom should've removed ages ago)
@@Zinogri yeah also if you're playing online no one cares what weapon you play and if solo speeds are compared by weapon not overall. So if lance kills it in 5 and ls kills it in 3 then it doesnt matter ls killed if faster. If i ever post speeds online imma make a lance playlist just for the salt complaints

Flinch free still takes up a slot in all of my loadouts. You can't escape from all the longsword hit boxes covering the entire map.

Rise made people play a lot more different weapons. Hunting Horn for example is at 7% while before it was at ~2%

@@jitteryzeitgeist Switch Axe, Bow, HBG all also got some pretty good stuff. At least those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

I love it ! It's getting more and more stylish to play the weapon and I personally don't really care if it's broken or not, I main multiple weapons cuz of how they feel in my hand, or how cool they are, not cuz of the meta or whatever (even tho I feel bad for some weapons getting kinda forgotten by Capcom)

Yeah for sure ! People tend to focus too much on how balanced or broken weapons are and maybe forget to have fun, this isn't a competitive game (as for the flinch problem, I don't believe it's the LS users' fault to trip people as much as i dont believe it's the Hammer users' to make people go swoosh in the air, this is something Capcom should've removed ages ago)
@@Zinogri yeah also if you're playing online no one cares what weapon you play and if solo speeds are compared by weapon not overall. So if lance kills it in 5 and ls kills it in 3 then it doesnt matter ls killed if faster. If i ever post speeds online imma make a lance playlist just for the salt complaints
