Little bit misleading to say the hdzero version 279$, that's only for the analog version. The HD version is almost 500$ so not beginner friendly at all
He meant the goggles are hdzero capable so it's a great way to get started and in hdzero because they're 200 bucks on their own. "If youre wanting to get into hdzero, this set up is a great way to do so because the goggles are 200 solo"....So if you get this set, you get the hdzero goggles AND you get a tinywhoop and a radio for 80 bucks. After that, you can just buy hdzero ready quads and you'll already have the hdzero goggles..he wasn't trying to be misleading an elrs radio and a quad for 80 bucks as an add on is a spectacular deal
@@brianfreland9065so you're telling me that emax is charging an extra 200$ just for the HD camera? Damn
@brianfreland9065 Will the controller and goggles be able to bind to other drones of the right receiver and channel?
Hilarious that I keep hearing "great for the first drone". I got mine because I felt like the people in our apartment complex were more nervous about the 5" or 7". Even the 3.5" was enough of a flying chainsaw that I felt I was being annoying. So I went with the TH3+ and can actually have fun without feeling like I'm scaring people into protecting their faces. The Tinyhawk III + was my 13th quad. The Meteor 75 Pro is my second tinywhoop(tm) lol. IMO there is never a bad time to get into these things. GO GO GO!
The HdZero price is $489.99 on both sights that you liked in your discription
Hey Nick,
You can calibrate the gyro and acc through the osd. No need for a computer as suggested.
I just bought the Tinyhawk 3 a month ago !! I gave up waiting for the HD after months of asking!!
oh man. Sorry.
The hdzero kit is 489.99 dont wanna be the guy to correct u buy ye you were on anolog version both hd kits would probably rack you 500 after gees and stuff
I was waiting for review! I appreciate your honest review based on years of experience. Great review style Nick!
Those 15000kv motors and props run incredibly well on 2s. They are too low of a kv to run well on 1s. If you use a 300mah - 450mah bt3.0 you'll be surprised with the increased performance. I used a 12a 1-2s aio I had laying around.
hey nick, just for the avon prop comments, there are 4 sizes, 40mm, 1.6in, 2.0in., 2.5in, and 3.5in,
I know this as I use avons on my grinderino, and draknight.
This is an interesting package. I want the googles to use as an external screen for friends to watch while we alternate flights. Do you think there is any potential for the FC and VTX to be moved to another frame with better motors on 2S? Seems like a decent price to get the monitor and some potentially useful guts. EDIT: Never mind. I was confused on the price. I thought the HD Zero RTF was only $289. So I was like damn that's a crazy deal. I see now.
Kabob swapped it out to a toothpick :)
certainly an option to move fc and vtx to another frame with 2s compatible motors and run it more aggressively. :)
For the Price, and HDZero, these kits are pretty good. If anyone asks me about getting into the hobby and wants HD for a modest price, I'm recomending this. Reminds me of my Cetus Pro Starter kit, only better! Thanks for the video. Cheers!
Any plans to review the Pavo 20? Interested in a comparison of the Pavo, Darkstar 20, and Defender 20
Yes. Should be up in the next day or two. I have wrapped up my flying with it.
I have the analogue version of this and it’s so damn easy to fly!! Great for inside and outside on a calm day.
Damn you're a good pilot.
oh there are far better. But thank you, I appreciate a compliment.
Yes, this does look like a good starter kit. As with most, the quad is limited performance and will certainly leave the new pilot looking for more as soon as he gets comfortable with flying FPV. In that sense, it's a sales tool and probably has lower margins than the rest of their equipment in hopes of leading to future (more profitable) sales.
This could be true. I am not privy to margins.
Nice
I think about the capacitor on the battery lead. It's really needed for 1s with this flight controller?
I don't think its absolutely needed, but a precaution.
@@NickBurnsFPV That's my thoughts
Fantastic flying and review, Nick! 😃
Really nice beginner kit indeed!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great vid, Peace 🙂
Hi Nick... can't you reset the accelerometer thru OSD?
yes, that is another option as well. surface will need to be very flat
@@NickBurnsFPV Yes..i am not sure we can still calibrate with stick commamds.
You need to revise the pricing part of your video
That isn't possible with the tools youtube provides for editing. The video would have to be redone. Not really feasible or manageable across nearly 1000 videos. :(
😊wow
HD does look good. Those goggles aren't super expensive either
Completely off topic, @NickBurnsFPV do you or have you flashed other firmware to your whoops? I'm interested in quicksilver and have flashed my mobula6 but need to dial in the tune. Your thoughts?
I have used quicksilver. I suggest using one of the presets they are generally very good. If I recall correctly they have presets for 1s and 2s, 675mm and 75mm whoops.
Man dude, you make that look so damn easy.
It all comes with time and practice.
Hey Nick ! Great video as always! By far best reviewer IMO. So I’ve been flying since Sept 22 actually started with TH3 kit. All analog since then. Already flying acro pretty well. Many different drones…. But never flown HD besides a Mini2. But no tru FPV. Is it really worth the hype ? Is the video that much cooler when flying ?! Lol this definitely looks to be the best way to dive in for sure.
I think going to any HD platform depends on ones budget and how important the quality of the image is. HD fpv is expensive and much more expensive to repair replace. The image quality can be really nice to look at, but for individual like myself, I have access to all of them but still fly analog most of the time. I don't find my enjoyment goes up that much with any of the HD platform. Others don't feel its worth flying unless its HD fpv. I only think its worth it if one has the budget to try it and not be super impressed.
Will the controller and goggles be able to bind to other drones of the right receiver and channel?
Good review, the goggles look promising. Thanks for the show and tell.
The added weight of HDZ seems to really kneecap this platform. The video quality is also very disappointing, something I’ve noticed on every review of this model. I’ve been a huge fan of all the TH flavors over the years, but something went sideways on this iteration. That said, I’ll be buying a bunch of those newly designed battery mounts for other builds!
I see nothing wrong with the video quality. Its an awesome little camera that handles everything Ive thrown at it, including low light night flying. The weight, yeah HDZ isnt helping there, but that gigantic plastic shell is going to contribute more to it I bet. I have a meteor 75 HDZ, and while it is 3.5gr heavier than the analog version, and you do feel that, it still flies fantastic with plenty of power.
@@vertigo2893 Note the amount of breakup/static at close range. Every review of the TH3 has it, but the Freestyle 3 doesn't. Lots of reviewers commenting on it as well. My guess is the Vtx antenna's proximity to the FCB is likely the cause of the noise on the smaller hawk.
HD Zero, strange choice IMO.🤨 surely mores sales opportunities with any other protocol🤔 is there a reason why WS BNFs are not prolific?☹
I really don't know. I haven't gotten responses from companies when asking similar questions. I suspect that is part of the business behind the scenes they don't want public.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thx, oh well I'll keep building my own.
It doesn't make sense that the kit is $279, I think just the HD drone itself is $279. The regular Tinyhawk 3 drone analog is $120 and the whole kit altogether is $300 analog version
Emax has the drone alone listed at $239.99. The kit still shows $279.99. Pretty good value for those wanting to start out with HDZero.
With that said, I still have the receipt from my 2018 purchase of the Original emax tiny hawk kit...for 159.99 shipped ! Those were the days!
Although the TX , and most of the bits and pieces are probably much improved from that 2018 version :-)
@@NickBurnsFPVthis is wrong and needs correcting. You’re referencing the analogue kit not the hd zero kit.
If emac is going to do 1s drones they nead at least 19000kv motors
I would suspect they are going for flight time which a good many fpv starters are also desiring. I get a lot of questions about flight time from what I think are those getting started.
I get 400mw on my analogue version
Heya Mr_Burns!🔥 ✌️👽🛸
Heya there!!
How do you record your footage and sound?
dvr on the goggles and cell phone on the table.
That's the E8 radio, just to clarify.
Did I call it something else?
@@NickBurnsFPVE6
Would like to see a Walksnail version, but I probably just stick with my Mob8
Unfortunately, no word on a walksnail version.
@@NickBurnsFPV 😔
I doubt you would want it. It would be even heavier and the VTX would cut out on just about every throttle punch. WS to me doesnt begin to make sense until above 2S.
@@vertigo2893This is a good point. WS dies at 3.1volts and HDzero at 2.77volts...at least when I first tested them both.
@@NickBurnsFPV and to make matter worse, it takes an eternity for WS to reconnect. IMHO, HD zero is the only digital system worth considering on 1S, and for most ppl, analog will still make more sense. I have both analog and HDZ versions of the meteor 75, and the analog is still my go-to if I dont need the better range/penetration, as it just flies better, longer and its half the price if I land it in a tree or pond.
