Those black Korua boards is another planet. If you haven't tried them, you have no idea how light and fast they are. I have tried a lot of boards but my black Korua Cafe Racer is my favorite board ever and I think it will stay like that for a long time. There are no similar boards from another brands.
Another great review thanks wish it was snowing here in NZ oh well at least we have a cyclone swell up at the mount and another one on the way so just have to surf happy shredding and happy New Year 🤙
I have a dilemma, I would appreciate your input on it. So I'm trying to buy a board that will allow me to learn carving and I'm looking at the transition finder, the Cafe racer and the ride twin pig. Now I know that some advice you learn carving with positive and positive but I've been riding always duck -15/15 and I know that Ryan kanpton uses this with his twin. Should I revolutionize my angles and give koruas a shot or should I get the twin pig ultra wide and learn it duck? (I do try to ride some switch but I'm honestly terrible at it).
Absolutely try some positive positive angles if you really want to get into carving. I would get the cafe racer, and start with some fairly tame angles +18/+6 or something to start getting used to it. Unless you really really want to concentrate on learning to carve switch, you are going to be a million times better off riding a directional, tapered board for carving. At least with a directional board they are designed to ride one way much better, so you can expect that all parts of a turn will be better, on top of being better in powder. If you ride a twin, it can never be especially good at any one thing, because it has to do the same thing backwards.
You can't really go wrong with the Team or the Custom, though I would also have a look at the Jones Frontier as another option ruclips.net/video/uK0UOpRK9zE/видео.html
I got a transition finder last season and just got the stiffer Jones Mercury bindings this season for it. Rode that setup for the first time and it suddenly feels like I need to relearn how to ride and carve. The board now felt fast, stable and needed a lot more commitment to the edge than I was used to. I also felt like my back leg was burning the entire time I was trying to carve. Did you feel that way too?

Have you tried the Capita Mega Death, that's pretty damn light and quick too.
I wish they offered their Plus boards in more sizes. I would be down to try this board, but a 157 is tiny
Yeah they are super limited in what they offer, seems like just one or two plus options per model.

Great review, will you be replacing your old TF with this plus version ?
If I could just do a straight swap for the Plus I would, though I think if I was going to replace the TF at all I would get a Cafe Racer.
I’d love to get this board in plus version but I weigh 145 lbs and concerned it will be too big
It will probably feel quite stiff and aggressive, but it is doable. You don't want the regular version in a smaller size?
@@SnowboardRobot i prefer the faster base…how is the standard base glide?
@@jaybartlett2561 I never noticed the regular base (on any of the Korua boards) to be slow, but I do always keep my boards waxed as well

with stiff setup try positive/positive angles on korua
If you could only demo the classic, would you blind cop the plus?
Yeah probably if the cost wasn't a problem - the regular will give you a good feel, just gets lighter and faster after that
What jacket are you wearing?
It's the Quiksilver Dominate
I guess this board could handle a much more aggressive style.
Oh yeah I was no where near able to push it to what the board could handle.
