I just finished the video and want to thank you for making this! I'm an Usopp main and was happy to see you rank him S tier in a sea of people who rank him poorly, but I think you ranked him that high for the wrong reasons. Post-Timeskip's Bomb Skullgrass special is extremely useful for setups and can be used multiple times to turn the battlefield into your own minefield, and with his other seeds being planted all over (aerial C1 is a really good and quick one) makes him into an OHKO machine. Fishing net star contributes greatly to this and flash dial isn't even really necessary. He also has a fire rain special that I forget the name of that does significant damage and armor break on its own I'm also in the camp that Shanks is still being underrated! He's not too flashy in any way, just very powerful, and sometimes that's all you need! I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but his Conqueror's Haki and Pirate Heights cinematic specials give him the haki buff after using them, and they're three stars so pretty accessible. His grounded C5 is also a very substantial projectile I feel that Barto is being greatly overestimated! He has always felt very stubby, awkward, slow, and weak to me. All of his defensive mechanics feel less like a benefit and more of the developers tipping far too much into a defensive kit. His instant shield break special feels more like a crutch than anything that actually benefits him fluidly. But that's just me, I'm sure you've played him way more than me because I really hate playing as him 😭 But like I said, thanks for making this, I'm obsessed with this game and it's great to see such well-articulated content around it!
What you have to do at 35:03 is, give up on the idea of not making some people upset. Straight up drop half of the S tier into A and B. There needs to be more mid ratings, for example the Vinsmokes are NOT S tier. They're A. Teach is A, I play Reiju and she ain't S she's A. Hawkins isn't S he's A. Carrot is S, not S+ just because shock is good doesn't mean a short range character with merely good damage is S+. So on and so forth.
Oh my god I'm so dumb. All the times I read it I just kept thinking 'Power Dash' not 'Regular Dash'. The spreadsheet even mentions the pulses and I didn't get it. Oh well, kinda makes the skill a bit worse since dashes are still faster anyway but would help when out of stamina so still worth using. Thanks so much, I can't believe I missed that. I'll have to mention it in the next update video, lol.
@@demonmechon8524 I know this is mad late but I find the skill to be amazing for Yama's adventure for non speed types since sometimes instead of constant dashing then having to walk at a much slower pace feels really terrible to play and running consistently at a moderately fast pace is much better, Of course "My opinion blah blah" but I figure the perspective might help as I had realized how rocketman worked during Yama's adventures (which I am pretty sure is the only place that is worthwhile to use it in)
@@demonmechon8524 The skill is particularly nice for Snakeman as he has a sprint speed of 50 and his power dash is slower than his sprint speed. But yeah its a bit more niche then it initially appears. (Nighlin)

I found a funny little thing that im experimenting with kizaru: combo 2 on the ground does a suprising amount of damage, has good range and deals decentish shieldbreak, overall if I buff my character for pure ground dps I can kill enemies in up to four hits with it, using that air combo 2 helps to break the shield so I just keep spamming the attack until they die its suprisingly strong and I cleared true pirate warriors with it somehow, just make sure to get ground damage buffs, the buff that increases your Y button attacks and just get anything that increases damage. but heres the big secret: if you attack enemies with this thing right up in their faces, you deal really good damage and shieldbreak, most of the time I was able to break half of their shield in a single hit of this combo, sometimes even just breaking it instantly, im sure this needs more experimentation but its actually quite strong, against logia types the shield damage is a little inconsistant with it sometimes breaking shields really fast or takes 4 to five times to break, my general strategy would be to try to use the air combo 2 to help wittle down sheilds, use your specials for extra damage and wittle in combo 2s, seriously Kizaru has a better Dps output just using this build (just also keep in mind the specials also really help out, using both in tangem makes for a very strong high dps build) id suggest maybe you testing this out just make sure to use cheat death undying on land attack rage of lion Y attack enhancement the last one really is up to you I usually use persuit to deal extra damage during shield break and just to really further emphasize how strong this attack is, using all the buffs, lowest heath possible with cheat death, i can get blackbeard to half health with a single attack, even if it isnt one shot, it still two shots shit often, it is god damn broken and I hope this gets featured in your next video or you at least test it out edit: ive worked something out, the hitboxes on the beams are a little clunky but they can sometimes hit an opponent more then once I think allowing them to deal even more damage, its all about finding the right distance or space, ill keep experimenting edit: I also just discovered you can do insane fucking damage by pressing the y Button on kizaru with the max low hp damage of cheat death, just spam it and everything just melts, seriously kizaru is god damn broken
If possible, could you make character rankings for the previous PW games like PW3? It’d be interesting to see how much viable the characters were in the past compared to PW4, especially since you brought up the changes between PW3 and PW4 from your last video.
Oh, my piece made it in. Glad I was useful! I've been messing around with Yamato and I am of the opinion that he is top 5. His skills are all extremely good, and he can chain spam air heavy attack + launching attack for funny damage and an absurd number of hits. Plus that transformation is unreal with stunlocking and its air heavy also freezes so you can just autopilot through almost every encounter. Even with that there's so many extremely strong characters that it's a decent argument for who's... number 3 lmao.
Yes I do believe she is contesting for Top 1, her ability to output so much damage while moving all-around and pushing enemies all the time lets her by-pass, amongst every other enemy attacks of the game, Law's "Room" invicibility; which is like what Blackbeard struggles the most with as he's the perfect example of being able to output extraordinary damage, but only that; and armors in general as you will always be rampaging through your enemies in your hybrid form at all times with the right build, which also lets her traverse the map so much easier due to her having always-infinite stamina. By the way I don't agree that we should rank characters based on them all having the same build, I mean are we looking for the most efficient character overall or specifically with all of them using the same build ? Not the same at all because then you'd be ranking Shanks without him using the royal fluid perk or Yamato without "Factor Lineage" or even any technical type without "devotion", and there's countless other examples, I might not be technically right but you get my point, I lean unless you're trying your hardest not to, this video taught me lots of things and this sheet is very useful but that's the detail that ticks me off 😅 I don't see why we shouldn't rank every character at its best, or else the more generic will win y'know, it doesn't feel fair.
Also thanks for the spreadsheet, didn't know anything about it. Rocketman works for regular sprint speed btw, not power dashes sadly. I did a video on it already comparing the speed difference 👍🏽
This game is so different from previous PW entries, PW3 maps would be claustrophobic with the kind of movement PW4 offers. Similarly, trying to rework a character like Magellan to fit the new gameplay would probably go poorly. He'd likely end up being an awkward character like Lucci or even bad like Tashigi.
@@VoltKrueger It's more that having magellan at all would be good, rather then going the "just port PW3 magellan" route. And you could go the Treasure Cruise (cannot believe im citing a mobile game) route where he does more special damage to poisoned enemies. An easy way to make it work is to give his poison an acidic-esque effect, where poison also does DOT to armor; giving them a unique way of breaking armor that they might not need insta-gauge break. And for there burst, have him do the hydra and create a constant AOE of poison that makes the DOT and bonus damage even stronger. Tl;dr, i think there's ways to do magellan that'd make them unique to..pink girl, forget her name lol.

Hawkins air Y that he jumps and a spin down sword attack. If I’n right spot actually hurts giants big time like Ace does. Probably already said it. Everyone is a lot better to me Brooks damage was bad before update now he is Manageable was so impressive to me when doing emperor territory in log. Also what I learn units that does lot aoe damage or damage hit at once with new skills now a lot better. I am a Whitebeard and Kizaru Main. Kizaru damage I believe is now way better and Bege no joke to me I don’t know why not trying say he’s best he feels like a beast to me. Because his hit count is so fast of increasing his damage goes bursting fast. Hard combos but can do it and his Castle super I notice is really good in big crowds and against giants. Like a lot of units are good and ranking is now just plain hard and pointless without new harder level. (Ngl I try Kuzan on story mode at level 20 difficulty is on hardest mode his damage feels very lacking in less do his kick against ice enemy’s). Don’t have too much say because everyone is a lot better. Nice vid and I did not knew their were cap limits. Also did not knew battle instinct ATK was not permanent so make it useless so theirs that same with shatter. Because of that you give me a lot of changes of normal sets I use now thanks a lot. Nice vid and hope your day is good. (Some odd reason in modes I have no problem clearing them now with any unit). Also new Kaido I don’t think he’s not that bad. I personally think new kaido is similar or little better depending. When he starts combos and do his 3 Star move is huge swing and down. I don’t know why but that attack with right damage increases multipliers that move does so much damage is Insane to me for a non 4 star move. Plus their new so we might learn new things they can do. i'm pretty sure the rocketman skill increases your regular dash speed not power dash. so like when you hold L2 on playstation there will be little wind pulses as you speed up, i find it pretty useful for slower characters and bigger characters
Holy shit this teir list is something else great work to be testing those characters multipul time I'm I'm not gonna bash your work that shit ain't right but so much *low tier* characters will do better in TPW (I'm gonna pretty thats the hardest stage when you put it on the hardest diff) like the brothers are ass the red one is the only viable option. New kiado being under ussop is wild ngl any I'm put those characters up against each other to see if your teir list hold out but great work didn't know about the spread sheet till this video
The skill damage limit is in all Pirate Warrior games its even lower in previous entries at 4.0 instead of 5.0. Having capped skill damage in both games feels super strong to be honest. I speedrun all of them and killing units has always been super fast.
This probably won't nudge him anywhere ont he list but for some reason bege's poison missile (the one he used in big mom in canon) does a surprising amount of damage. Enough to be considered a super
I find it funny how there's both skills which encourages you to stay LOW on health (Cheat Death) and skills which encourage you NOT to capture territories (Heat Up & Worked Up)
I hope we get another Zoro but one that has awakened his Conquerors Haki and has new specials that could and will hurt giant characters. Shoot as far new dlc packs goes I want Gol D. Roger and Silvers Religh and a Prime WhiteBeard at least. But only time will tell.
Yamato's somersault slam in hybrid form is so hilariously abusable. A little disappointed with hybrid Kaido though.While having a speed type giant is cool, the damage drop off is painful. Gear Five Luffy is a blast to play though. I love Gum-Gum Lightning and how it just shreds whatever it hits. Also how do you get that Hancock costume?
Shanks is S + right after White bread. Mihawk Before big mom. And New Luffy After Blackbread. He has the same clear time 2-3 minutes as any S+ tier for onigshiama stage 4.

I played kinemon recently and i struggle to see how he can possibly be D tier, hes got damage hes got crazy aoe, hes nowhere near the trash bins that are bege and tashigi Same with shanks, like, he is not C tier at all lol, not even saying he’s S but he’s definitely A tier
I feel like Fujitora is a bit too low. I know his damage armor break is slow but his damage can be cracked especially on his hell super. I have bias towards him though so with a gran of salt ofc.
Excellent videos, I've been loving both the tierlist before and this one. This might seem like a weird question, but I just bought the game and I want to know how to unlock a skill due my playstyle. How can I unlock doctor's wisdom for every character?
It's unlocked from Chopper's first Growth Map. There are a bunch of skills in the "Beginning Map" and most characters also have one in their personal map. Once a skill is unlocked it is available for everyone (Unless it's only for a certain Type like Technique or Speed).
you could start a new file and only level up your maps to get lvl 18 if you wanted to test all the characters with the new skills, but only if you're bored to death with the same old stages like I am. It was fun to completely dumpster the highest level missions but it got boring after a while.
Kinemon in the lowest tier is actually hilarious. Like did you even touch him? He’s better than WB. The only issue he has is stamina and just not being a complete r etard fixes that.
You got my man crocodile in A he is mid S tier His desert vento is very power lvl 2 skill and desert Girasole can easily one shot characters with the right skills cept for 3 bar bosses
Nah, el Shanks merece estar en tier S si esta bien equipado y ademas el último combo que quita casi toda la vida con el haki activado (Hay que saber usarlo no mas). Y el eustass kid en A, porque sus super skill pueden one shotear personajes y es bueno. Y el kaido híbrido también en S y es mil veces mejor que Sabo porque igual tiene skill buenas y puede matar un gran grupo de enemigos debido a su altura y largo alcance
You need to restructure your tier list. S tier and s+ tier lose all meaning when half the roster in it. The strong should stand out instead it make everyone mesh togethet and makes it very diffucult to tell at a glance without having to rewatch the video. It should just be s - d. With a special top 3 tier. Simple and easy.
I mean, if anything this tier list just accurately reflects the problems this game has rn. Character levels are much higher than map levels so from that alone most characters that would otherwise be in a different tier all just smooshed up into the top tiers because there's no content to really challenge them. Maybe we can make a "No souls map no passives" tier list or something? Could be interesting to see what that would look like.
On either the battle prep screen before a level or the pause screen in the middle of a level, scroll to the side until you see "Results". That will show your player stats.
I don’t feel that Yamato is that great she has a ok armor break I think it is really bad at higher levels and the form change I miss like 90% of the time the only thing that I like is a few of her specials but even then I would put her B she isn’t that great
Only s+ is kenimon akainu luffy and kaido. If you can’t recognize why these characters are better than the rest you really shouldn’t make a tier on this game.

Holy shit this teir list is something else great work to be testing those characters multipul time I'm I'm not gonna bash your work that shit ain't right but so much *low tier* characters will do better in TPW (I'm gonna pretty thats the hardest stage when you put it on the hardest diff) like the brothers are ass the red one is the only viable option. New kiado being under ussop is wild ngl any I'm put those characters up against each other to see if your teir list hold out but great work didn't know about the spread sheet till this video
That skill damage limit definitely is noticeable in this game. never really feel OP like the other PW games.
The skill damage limit is in all Pirate Warrior games its even lower in previous entries at 4.0 instead of 5.0. Having capped skill damage in both games feels super strong to be honest. I speedrun all of them and killing units has always been super fast.
This probably won't nudge him anywhere ont he list but for some reason bege's poison missile (the one he used in big mom in canon) does a surprising amount of damage. Enough to be considered a super
He's C-tier and it doesn't change it. He'll never get higher than that because his standard attack range is utterly pathetic.
Which makes me sad.
I find it funny how there's both skills which encourages you to stay LOW on health (Cheat Death) and skills which encourage you NOT to capture territories (Heat Up & Worked Up)
I hope we get another Zoro but one that has awakened his Conquerors Haki and has new specials that could and will hurt giant characters. Shoot as far new dlc packs goes I want Gol D. Roger and Silvers Religh and a Prime WhiteBeard at least. But only time will tell.

Yamato's somersault slam in hybrid form is so hilariously abusable. A little disappointed with hybrid Kaido though.While having a speed type giant is cool, the damage drop off is painful. Gear Five Luffy is a blast to play though. I love Gum-Gum Lightning and how it just shreds whatever it hits. Also how do you get that Hancock costume?
Shanks is S + right after White bread. Mihawk Before big mom. And New Luffy After Blackbread. He has the same clear time 2-3 minutes as any S+ tier for onigshiama stage 4.
I wouldn't give shanks THAT much credit but I WOULD give him a fuck ton of credit. Bro's not quite a monster, but he is a demon

He's still not in the same tier as whitebeard and kaido tho. No one is. Those guys are just physically faster, physically stronger, and just press random buttons and everything dies. I'm saying they're top 3. I'm saying shanks is A-tier on a bad day, top 5 on a good day and S-tier on a Tuesday

It is shocking how low Hybrid Kaido’s damage is, like every move does so little, since he’s speed his combos should have good damage or something
I feel like Fujitora is a bit too low. I know his damage armor break is slow but his damage can be cracked especially on his hell super. I have bias towards him though so with a gran of salt ofc.

This might seem like a weird question, but I just bought the game and I want to know how to unlock a skill due my playstyle. How can I unlock doctor's wisdom for every character?
It's unlocked from Chopper's first Growth Map. There are a bunch of skills in the "Beginning Map" and most characters also have one in their personal map. Once a skill is unlocked it is available for everyone (Unless it's only for a certain Type like Technique or Speed).

you can use the same tactic for ouruge and hancock on kidd to constantly have full metal arms.
you could start a new file and only level up your maps to get lvl 18 if you wanted to test all the characters with the new skills, but only if you're bored to death with the same old stages like I am.
It was fun to completely dumpster the highest level missions but it got boring after a while.

Nah, el Shanks merece estar en tier S si esta bien equipado y ademas el último combo que quita casi toda la vida con el haki activado (Hay que saber usarlo no mas). Y el eustass kid en A, porque sus super skill pueden one shotear personajes y es bueno. Y el kaido híbrido también en S y es mil veces mejor que Sabo porque igual tiene skill buenas y puede matar un gran grupo de enemigos debido a su altura y largo alcance

You need to restructure your tier list. S tier and s+ tier lose all meaning when half the roster in it. The strong should stand out instead it make everyone mesh togethet and makes it very diffucult to tell at a glance without having to rewatch the video. It should just be s - d. With a special top 3 tier. Simple and easy.
I mean, if anything this tier list just accurately reflects the problems this game has rn. Character levels are much higher than map levels so from that alone most characters that would otherwise be in a different tier all just smooshed up into the top tiers because there's no content to really challenge them. Maybe we can make a "No souls map no passives" tier list or something? Could be interesting to see what that would look like.

On either the battle prep screen before a level or the pause screen in the middle of a level, scroll to the side until you see "Results". That will show your player stats.

I don’t feel that Yamato is that great she has a ok armor break I think it is really bad at higher levels and the form change I miss like 90% of the time the only thing that I like is a few of her specials but even then I would put her B she isn’t that great
