I'm far less concerned about Japan buying a steel company. The fact that we allow China to buy over 300,000 acres of our farm land......that's an issue.
@@LolaEubanks-g6pOr Japan could lay off all US steel workers but continue to sell cheap steel imported from Japan's Brazilian steel company under the name of US steel to escape tariffs.
As long as the plant stays in the US, the workers and the quantities remain, I’d have no problem with that. And the Japanese would no doubt improve the quality and practises.
So were okay with China owning giant swaths of farmland, but mad Japan (who has tons of factories here and employes thousands of Americans) bought a steel company
Remember the last time the US pissed off the Japanese. That involved resources, just like today. Why did it take Brandon a week to even comment on this????
Yeah we let the horse out of the barn and then shut the door! China should not be allowed to buy our land and our companies! Protect America for our children!
What are the reasons for those who oppose this M&A? Is it because their pride will be hurt by being under the umbrella of a foreign capital? If so, it is a laughably ridiculous reason.
They don’t bother to compete with the low grade Chyna rubbish imported to your market. Japan is all about quality; something you guys no longer care about. You just want cheap disposable junk, that you buy over and over again.
Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi (35% US market share). In the electronics/smartphone market Japan makes components you can't see upfront. Image sensors for Apple. Semiconductor materials and chemicals for the electrical circuits. But, ultimately in the electronics sector Japan's Walkman, CD, Floppy Disk industry was squeezed out by Apple and Samsung.
and the John Deere Tom Wolfe Japan and all the clear cutting they've done in Pennsylvania with millions on the front end and billions on the back end, then the steel too the unions have sure sold us out
This actually might be great for the U.S.A. Japanese engineers are top in the field with excellent quality control and management practices. In times of war, we can always "nationalize" this industry.
That would depend on what's still in place. UK has sold coal-fired power stations and large engineering works - only for the production plant and equipment to go abroad . . .
And they already said they would leave the main operational structures in place (corporate hq/facilities/pensions/etc.). Having said that, it is a bad look to have a foreign entity own that company and there is a reason why they were willing to pay a lot over what was market.
@@ritab-c492 yep the longer Biden is in the worse it will be don’t forget what happened at one time when the ship got stuck -3 months of nothing getting through
Why give so much importance to a company that is not even in the top 20 of the world's largest steel producers (China has the largest steel company in the world and several others in the top 10). If the company is being sold it is because it is no longer competitive and probably not very profitable. Even Luxembourg, which is a tiny country, produces more than the 3 largest US steel companies combined. Japan will probably restructure the company and lay off or replace a some workers to make it more productive. Surely the company will continue to maintain its business, I don't see the company stopping selling steel to U.S. companies.
US steel makes the best steel in the world , the problem is not everyone wants to pay for that high quality steel but anyways now japan wil make the best steel in the world
I think Joe Biden is out of the loop of a lot he is a disaster they have to set up fake stages to make it look like he's in the it's so pathetic when he does do something right and no screw-ups he gets awarded with ice cream no wonder our enemies are so scared of the United States right now maybe that's explains why we have two wars going on underneath this pathetic frail old man's administration

They should be grateful that an Allie like Japan’s was willing to pay a premium for US Steel instead of the lowball offer the other U.S. company offered. And U.S. Steel is much better off under Nippon’s guidance. And a Japanese company is a lot different than a Chinese company - who are clearly advesaries- making a purchase.
I think foreign investment is good and foreign purchase of America goods and companies is good. America can also create new steel company and steel company etc.
Probably the fusion reactor property agreement and the also ula agreement and the next is a probably a national laboratory agreement and space mining agreement. Capturing asteroid with trillions more is probably cheaper due to the needed water and metals etc.
Between the democrats taxing and the Union gouging, I don't blame US Steel one bit from getting out from underneath all that while trying to stay in business, Maybe if Biden would of infra-structured like he said, US Steel would of held in there ! Another issue are these investment firms that have that bottom dollar return margin, They want to guarantee investment security, And US Steel can't compete, Those Automotive plants will be jumping ship before long also. People don't get it, The democrats had union backing, Meanwhile, knowing the big four auto companies were jumping ship !
The US Steel deal will cost Americans 1/1000 of what the open border will cost American citizens. Way to go Brandon!
both problems.
Lol you are blinded by hate. Your pp wont get any bigger by being a meanie.
Joe didn't get his 10%.
I was going to type that! No joke ! Not hyperbole . Listen Fats
He will!
Dismantling America you voted for them !

Really? I can't find the source
Why are we selling land and businesses to any foreign county! this is simply common sense!!

@jonmunch3298 Biden is a traitor to this country and people still talking about voting for him....saddest joke of it all.
They’ve been selling out companies to foreign business since I was little I was born in 1973
Although they say it's not going to China, there's a potential that it could ultimately fall into China's hands one way or the other.
as the same as the last 6+ decades THE AMERICAN JOBS WILL GO! SO IT'S A NO TO THE TREASON.

Amerucan steel production must stay in American hands as a national security measure.
Bad things continue to happen under Sleepy Joe's watch.
Calm down it’s Japan taking over we’ll be fine
Joe wants his 10 %.
🍻
Joe leased the mine in Tamarack to China. For 20 years.
Hey... you're supposed to buy it from China man! 10% for the big guy.
Japan is not China.

Block it and make sure the company is healthy
if it was healthy it would be getting taken over

Nippon did not cut Joe “the big guy” in on the deal. He’s pissed.
Your Union dues at work guys.
