I know right, I'd have thought he's in his late 50s or 60s. He was already like 40 when he was charting in the early/mid 80s and he looked like 28 then.

I'm 40yo and sing in a bar band. Whenever I worry about getting older and losing what I've got, I pull up recent RUclips videos of Donnie Iris or Mickey Thomas (Starship -- see "Jane") and immediately feel better about aging. Thank you, Donnie! You are truly an inspiration!
I freaking love this band, they’ve been amazing since they started & never cooled down I was lucky enough to meet them all 1 time in 1982 nicest guys you could ever meet Mark shook my head while they were playing and I felt a electrical something I’ll never forget it Donnie Iris & the Cruisers for ever ❤️🙏✨

78 years old! what a phenomenon. love the acoustical start followed by the "wall of sound." we love you donnie. thanks also for "the rapper" 1970 and "play that funky music white boy" 1976.
I worked for your Australian distributor in 1980 Astor records and couldn't believe your talent and this amazing song then and still can't now. I have no idea why you didn't impact the charts here more in Australia than what you did. I was one of the fortunate ones thank you Donnie.
Wow...at his age he still has some chops !!! I always liked him from his first album. Years ago I played in several cover bands..we always did some Donnie.!! Always thought he should have been a Megastar..!! Love ya man.
He was poised to be but someone falsely sued him over the instrumental to Ah! Leah! and accused him of stealing it. He won, but all the legal fees took every penny he had, it's sad
Saw Donnie first as the opener for Hall & Oates at Centennial Hall in Toledo in the early 80s - at that time the greatest live performance I had ever seen, was as good as Hall & Oates, and at that time I was only a fan of Ah Leah! I left the show a fan of Donnie and the Cruisers. Then at an Affair on the Square in Dayton in the late 80s. The then-wife and I were right up front at Donnie's feet - it was great. Then at the Taste of Cleveland about 2005 - awesome three drummer performance after Ellwood City came out. Mark's organ solo on Soul Man to open the show was incredible. I'm due for another show. Donnie has been a part of my whole adult life, and he has added greatly to it. Thank you sir.
Me and my family just saw DI perform this in Erie at the Warner an hour ago. He has lost nothing. If anyone reading this recorded the Erie version of Ah Leah and can share it, please let me know.
Love it! Even the background vocals sound like the record! Thank you Donnie Iris! Looking for a good vinyl compilation of your work but there's none! :(
takes a song that's roughly 3•40 and makes it plus 9.... Brilliant! That's how ya' do "LIVE" kids.... 10 songs and you've got a 90 minute show 🤓 Go ahead with your Bad'self, D! #DonnieIris #AhLeah

Wow really? He looks younger. Maybe he has a young girl
sometimes you only need one song....This stands the test of time for sure and the fact he can still hit those notes in his upper 70s is INSANE!
He had more than one hit. Love is like a rock is another one.

A long way from his band the Jargarz with the song Rapper. but that one was great as well
