Your grandmother’s work is just beautiful! What a treasure for you!😊❤️😊
All these cross stitching projects are so beautiful, your grand mother did a great job.
Before my mother passed away 4,5 years ago she gave me a cross stitching project which she got from her mother (my grand mother) 25 years ago. She never started cross stitching it and I am making it since she gave it to me. Before she passed away she saw the first part which I had done and she was very proud and happy knowing that I will make it.❤️
Those pictures are so beautiful. Plus how nice that you and your grandma worked on the same picture. So special.
Hi Kay, I have twenty years worth of cross stitch supplies, waiting for me to find the joy in it again, I keep looking at it all and then I pick up my knitting again, your Grandma’s pieces are beautiful, thank you for sharing them with us, have a great week and happy knitting/stitching.
So beautiful Kay. Thank you for sharing! I'm sure Grandma is super proud of you for taking this on. I love the Little Women picture. 💕
The Little Women and Plantation House are stunning! What beautiful treasures!
I bet your Grandma is just tickled pink that you are working on her projects!
I just started a cross stitch again this year after not touching it for a long time. I'm working on a few small projects, but years ago I decided to make each of my kids and their families a Christmas stocking. My kids have theirs, and the first 3 grandchildren, but they' keep adding to their families so I've had to get back to it, and I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy it. And how wonderful to have your grandmother's pieces to finish up. I look forward to seeing more of your stitching.
Your grandmothers work is amazing!! I’m sure the one you’re finishing will be as well. It’s wonderful that you received those from her!
Your Grandmother's cross stitch is wonderful and you are very lucky to have them. You do great work and I can't wait to see them finished.
All of the pieces were beautiful and what a great story. Thank you for sharing with us, Kay!
Just loved seeing all those gorgeous works of your grandma. I know you will do them justice by finishing them just as beautifully. I love cross stitch, but have only just started doing it. Cheers 🥰😍💕😊❤️😘
Your grandmother’s work is stunning
They are all gorgeous, especially those hanging in your home. Thank you for sharing🥰🥰
Beautiful! I love cross-stitch, but right now, what I have hasn't seen much work. Now, I want to go back and see what I have and get working on one of them again. Thank you!!!
Lovely to see some vintage cross stitch! Keep working on them x
The finished pictures (framed) are beautiful! Fantastic handwork.
These are gorgeous. You are hooked. You are way down this Rabbit Hole!!!!!! Enjoy
Wow. They are gorgeous and such a treasure to have.
I have that same Crosstitch pattern on my to do list. It is actually two patterns you can do it together like your grandmother did or do the houses separately. I bought those patterns over 20 years ago. Seeing them again really motivates me to get them out and start. It is such a beautiful piece of work your grandmother started. Please show us the finished piece of work.
Such beautiful projects of your grandmas
What a talented lady!!! Beautiful work, I love the Little Women picture and that house picture upstairs is amazing !
I love the one your finishing its very unique the way she did them ( I start from the center and work outward hers looks as though she worked from the top down) beautiful! bless her for giving them to you you will enjoy them forever 😍
So many of us knitters were previous cross stitches and are now also getting back to doing cross stitch also. It's great that you also love this and that you are going to finish your grandmother's beautiful pieces. Have you watched any of the floss tubes that are out there, they are very addictive, as there are so many new products and way of doing it. Happy knitting and stitching 😊
Everything is absolutely beautiful. 💖💖
Those pieces are exquisite. So glad you shared them. I recently completed a small Llama piece (after about 40 years of not cross stitching) since I have lost my needlepoint ornament somewhere in my knitting and stash yarn! Yikes....time for a clean.
Your Grandmothers cross stitch pictures are so beautiful xx
Thank you Kay I loved it 💕 I am a new convert to cross stitch and embroidery - knitting is now on the back burner 😬
Kay those are so gorgeous!!! What a keepsake ❤️
Gorgeous cross-stitching. Years ago I did a lot. Got the knitting and crocheting bug.😂
Thank YOU!
Your grandmother had great taste!!
Lots of work !!so LOVELY!
Thanks Kay,
Elaine😍😍
The framed piece with the big White House is by Barbara & Cheryl called A Perfect Setting. They are the designers for A Touch of Pink/ A Splash of Yellow. I’m work on that one with the 2 houses put together also. You are much along than I am. Thanks for sharing.
Not yelling at all--the reason I heard for taking off the frames when not actually stitching was that they crush the stitches and flatten those that are underneath. If left on for too long, it will be noticeable in the work.
The needlework is amazing
Thank you for sharing your grandmother's stitching with us!! They are so beautiful!! I especially like the framed house and the house you are working on!!
I bought a cross-stitch after seeing your grandma’s. Not only has she inspired you, she has inspired me too. I can feel her love and thoughtfulness in her work. ❤️
Those squares are beautiful. Your grandmother’s stitching is beautiful. A lot of work went into them.
Hi Kay, I Think it's lovely that you are doing your granny's cross stitch. I had to give up my cross stitching due to my eye problems. I have loads of DMC thread just in case you see a pattern in your granny's stuff that you don't have thread for. Maybe I'll have some thread that would match that I could send you. I'm going to put all my stuff on etsy or ebay but haven't made the time yet. I would be more than happy to just give you what you need. Take care and may God bless you always.
Oh that would be wonderful Sherry!
I love seeing your grandma’s projects. She did some beautiful projects. Those quotes are wonderful too.
Very nice! Thank you for sharing.
Wow! Such beautiful work!
Such beautiful work.
I love to cross stitch and it was nice to see yours
As a G-ma myself, your sweet face has so much love for your Grandmother, makes my eyes leak.....and a grandma named Judy......The Wizard of Oz and Judy Garland produced a lot of Judys. Kindred spirits. 💞
❤️❤️ I always think of my Grandma when I see I have a comment from you because you share a name. ❤️
@@CrazySockLady I'm honored.
Kay I loved this podcast so much! Your grandmother’s cross stitches are
gorgeous ❣️❤️. She must be overflowing with joy seeing you give her projects this love.
I need to share that my Signature straight needles arrived and I have started my first Cozy Memory square. I love the feel of knitting with these needles❣️😊❤️
Kay you are so lucky to be able to finish stitching on your grandmother’s pieces. She must be so happy
Omg! That’s so amazing to see that you have that from your grandmother. I can’t wait to see the progress on you finishing her work.
What a treasure!
The framed house piece is also a Barbara and Cheryl design called “A Perfect Setting”. Her pieces are beautiful! She must be so happy that you appreciate her work and hang them in your home!
Amazing ! I can't wait to see it in a picture frame. This is a great way to honor your Grandmother.
I would like to see your cross stitch frame. I like it better than the round frames.
Just beautiful just take your time. You will get faster in time. Enjoy. It’s a beautiful project.
Thank you so much for the encouragement Penny! ❤️
Those are so beautiful! The framed ones are stunning. The last one I did was a beach house and I’d love to find patterns of smaller sized houses.
It must be the time of year or something. I know a lot of people going back to cross stitching. I went through some of my old magazines and noticed that many of the patterns seemed very dated or are no longer an ascetic I enjoy. Perhaps I'll see if someone else wants them as I do not. The Touch of Pink and Yellow House look a lot like the houses on Rainbow Row in Charleston. I thought that's what they were, but there is no reference in the pattern notes that I saw. All are beautiful pieces.
When I use the type of "hoop" you are using - I would just loosen it a bit when not working on it - and then tighten it back up when I was ready to stitch again. Since I'm using a plastic hoop with a metal insert right now - I take it totally out when not working on it.
Heyo you kid sent me! keep up the good work.
Me too. I have some ufo’s that I am going to finish up this winter. I am doing a small Halloween one that I found in my stash
Wow those framed ones are beautiful! Is it all counted cross stitch? Have done it before but to much work for me but maybe I did it wrong. I do like the painted ones. Your so talented. Maybe to a little tutorial on how to cross stitch or if you know some youtubers that teach it please share the ones you like.
The Little Women piece is a Michael Jolly Design published by Symbol of Excellence. Lovely!
Hello from Mounds Illinois
💕
I have four floss boxes full. I have no excuse
These house are from Charleston,SC. Does your Grandmother live in Charleston?
Have you looked at the Flosstube videos on RUclips?
Yep, I’ve watched a few. ☺️
I am also getting back into cross stitch! I haven't done it since I was a teenager (20 yrs ago *gasp*). Your grandmother's projects are lovely. How special to have those. I'm looking forward to continuing to hear about your cross stitch adventures!
The reason I'm getting back into it is a cross stitch pattern designer I recently came across. She's doing a Christmas stitch-a-long, making a Christmas countdown calendar. How could I resist?! If you're interested, her website is: hannahhandmakes.com/. The stitch-a-long info is quite far on the page, in her blog.
You knit a lot of socks. Analytically is there a "fitting" reason for only putting ribbing at the top of the leg, not the whole length?
You can do ribbing the whole leg if you want! It definitely makes a great fitting sock. Usually it’s at the top of any sock just to help the leg stay up better.
