  • It is controlled by means of an arduino with a grbl shield, wich drives the x and y motors, and the solenoid used for lifting-lowering the pen in response to g-code generated in inkscape and sent through grbl controller.
    It was designed with FreeCAD, and so is the blueprint made.
    This was recorded in 2017.

    Incredible work! What if instead of just sliding around on the desk, you put a few rollers and round ramps on both ends so the paper shimmies up into the air as it moves. If not practical, at least it will look funny.

      I found it is best to put it on top of something so paper falls down on both sides. What you say would keep the paper clear from the pen when it is raised, it could improve results especially with markers and such.

    Hello! Nice job! How do you get such flat drawings from a 3D model? Some plugin?

      Thanks! Drawings are made directly within FreeCAD. No plugin required IRC.
