I'm a first dan in Shotokan Karate. I should of been a higher degree but like everything in life things got in my way. Over all I have such respect for Aikido. During my years in karate as a student I was always on the receiving end of a technique. Understanding pressure point using gravity against someone strong or taller is crucial especial pain. In recent years you see people in law enforce, military using such technique but they don't understand the fundament of what they are doing when applying such practice on others.
