Great run, excited for Act 3! A few notes from the boss fight relating to "Omega": 1. The damage from Omega is not considered "Attacking Damage" because it doesn't have the red sword symbol on the card. Therefore, it would not trigger vulnerable on the enemy to do 2x damage. (This is also the case in the video game). 2. Because bosses are treated as being in all rows, Omega's damage would be able to hit both the bronze orb minion AND the bronze automaton boss for 6 damage to each target with a single Omega activation. 3. Similar to above, Omega is not affected by the damage increase effect from being in wrath. So, Omega wouldn't do extra damage from wrath stance. Also, as others have mentioned, Retained cards don't act like "Dazes" and reduce your draw. They simply stay in hand until ready to be used.
@MeetMeAtTheTable all the little errors are fine lol but only having one camera angle showing the necessary info is so much better than the 3 - 4 camera shots in a lot of other videos showing the player reaction, the board, the enemy etc. Your act 1 playthrough is what got me to pre order the game. Looking forward to act 3 and 4!
This is the right approach. I got carried away and recorded all 3 Acts in one go (I was having too much fun and got carried away). Next time I'm definitely following your example and breaking up the Acts
I believe Colin that Omega will deal 6 damage to the entire row. So near the end when you hit the boss you would have hit the bronze orb as well. Also, and I could very well be wrong here, I think the dealing damage and attacks are treated separately. Vulnerable only works with card affects with the sword icon. So the six damage to the boss couldn’t be 12. (If I’m reading the rulebook right). Awesome video again and I hope you’re doing ACT III!!
Keep the playthroughs coming I can’t wait for my copy. Just some rules clarifications: Omega should hit all enemies in entire row. Moreover it doesn’t work with Vulnerable as Vulnerable only affects Sword icon hits
Health is a recourse. When you constantly heal to full hp because you’re scared you’ll die it means you’re not strong enough. You should be smithing at almost every campfire unless you get dicked by an extreme draw order but at ascension 0 you should literally never have to rest. Not using your health as a recourse will make you lose every single run in high ascensions. You only need 1hp to live.. utilize that early so that you don’t lose when the game actually gets hard….
I am from Canada and ordered this having it shipped to my parents house in the US. Had a vacation planned to go and visit them in July hoping that it would arrive during my visit. Alas, it arrived 2 days after I left. Currently debating on if I want to spend the exuberant amount to have it shipped here or just wait until I go back in October.
Thank you! Do you know if frozen core or holy water is class specific? For instance, in the video game you can onky get black blood if you play the ironclad
I definitely would like to see Act III and IV. It's such a well constructed game. If you have 2+ players the enemies have more health, but do they do their damage to both players?
I have played it twice now. Once with the ironclad and once with the defect. I lost both times on the second act boss. And immediately fell in love with this game. Of course we need act lll
@@MeetMeAtTheTable hey btw I think your videos are probably the best on RUclips for this game.. would you ever consider posting the multiplayer aspect with you and your wife playing. Since she’s not on camera I figured she’d be more opened to it and it’s so much fun to watch this game with co op. Just curious to know if you’d ever post any of that content because it is lacking on RUclips.. almost no one post it.
not sure, but pretty sure you cannot discard Retain cards =) as others have said you still draw 5 cards, it do not fill out a card draw. else good game =D Omega deals 6 to all enemies in any row =)
23:40 you can’t choose to retain a retain card. It’s forced on you. Just for future knowledge unless they specially said that they changed it for the board game which would make no sense.
Gameplay looks great, very interesting. Unfortunately, I don’t like campaign games, and with so many other games out there and considering that no human being can consume it all, this one is a pass for me. Still, I enjoyed watching, great job as always.
She's my least favorite character in the videogame. I must have played her once or twice. Not sure I like the boardgame gameplay that much, but I'll try her when I get my physical copy.
You are not the only one to tell me that, so very interesting the video game version is not as good! Board game version = chef's kiss! :) Great to hear from you Franck!
Colin... are you sure you aren't misunderstanding what "row" means? At least in the game, Omega does damage to every enemy in combat, and I assume here it would do damage to every enemy attacking one player (every enemy in solo). Although getting Omega out in the game is a bit more of an involved process ha. However, Omega is a Power, not an Attack, so it wouldn't be boosted by being in Wrath nor is it's damage increased by Vulnerable (it wouldn't in the video game either). Overall, I think this is a good implementation, although unfortunately it carries over the mixed feelings I have about this game from the video game version. Ultimately I'm just not a fan of roguelikes I think. I will say Watcher is the character I've always had the hardest time with, largely because she's the one who's most easy to get screwed over by card luck (something which also seems true in this version). She does have lots of retain to essentially try and make up for that, but she's the only one I haven't beat Act 4 with.
Most random cards are going to be better than a starting card (transform can't turn a card into a starting card). And there's a chance for it to be incredibly powerful
If you retain a card, you still draw 5 new cards at the start of your turn. At least that´s how it works in the video game.
GASP! You are right! Well that would have made those cards even BETTER! I will make a note and pin this thanks!!
Yes please! Make Act 3 and 4!
You made it very well, Collin. Thanks a lot! 😊
Thanks for watching ! More to come for sure!
Yeeeeeeeey

Very good. Of all the people I've seen making StS board game playthroughs, your videos are the best organized/easiest to follow.
Appreciate that!! Sorry for the errors on this one but still having a blast with the game!!

Thanks so much and glad you pre-ordered it you won't be disappointed!! It's so much fun!!
Colin is S Tier board game creator!
@Kentchangar I'll take that thanks so much!!!!😁😁😁

Thanks Colin, that was really cool.
Wish I had backed Slay the Spire now! lol
Got you Paul its a great game and really fun deckbuilding!! I hope it goes to retail!
At the first encounter, when you play deva form, couldn't you have gained mana from the mummified hand?
I could have but didn't need it! Thanks for watching!!
Keep the playthroughs coming I can’t wait for my copy.

Been waiting for act 2! Thanks for posting! My game arrives today and I cannot wait to dive in
I hope you enjoy it, it is so good!!
YESH! ALL HAIL COLLIN! Can't wait for my copy.
I hope yours shows up soon!!!
We nead Act 3
Whoot is going to happen!!
Yess. Act 1 was so fun to watch. Can’t wait for my pledge to arrive.
I really hope you get it soon!!
Thanks for continuing this EPIC series. Watcher is OP as usual haha
Haha yeah she is awesome!!
Pretty sure you don't get to take damage from wrath directly to health if you have block active
Cool thanks!!

This was a blast, Colin! Thank you so much for these Slay the Spire videos; yours are the best ones! Hope you can make Acts III and IV.
Plan on it thank you so much for watching!!

15:24 2+2 is for -1 is three QUICK MATHS he did not say that🥲🥲🥲
Did I do some math wrong? That never happens...

You get more enemies but they have the same health. Some enemies have attack everyone.

@@MeetMeAtTheTable I may not be a commenter but I watch almost all your videos. Keep it up. Thank you for your good work.

Thanks!

True. And I don't see why you would want to discard it anyway. Cards you Retain stay in your hand and are in addition to your draw of 5 cards.
nah i hate the watcher, i'll be back for some silent or clad on act 3 if you do that
Totally get it thanks for watching!!
Excellent playthrough!
I enjoy it!
Thanks for that and appreciate you watching!!
Those are not stingy enemies
The Watcher is simply that good
Hehe!!
Watcher's pinky is too small.
Really?
Mummified hand was not used in making this video.
37:50, Nice it was used, but I think I gets used automatically when you play a power card.
Cool thanks!

I have heard she is harder than the others, and yes you got it right on the rules I messed that one up for sure haha!
Act 3?
Haven't recorded it yet!
Act 3!!!🎉
On to it!!
transform is so risky in the video game since complete random I never do it
Oh interesting!! She seems pretty awesome here!

@mathees479 guess I was always unlucky then never worked for me
