Thank you Opa’s I had problems with my 04 cherokee front shaft for months until I saw your video replaced cv and u join bearings problem solved thank you .
Having same problem Thanks for the video. Helpful and informative 👌 Around the same time too but also mine is flashing and cutting off so gonna do more I'm afraid . I'm 223k miles and she's a string one so we'll worth the TLC
Rocker arms and guides to cure that engine tick? Im replacing that cv/rzeppa joint and the universals.. Im at 213K miles and the engine tick is starting to show up more often some when cold start then quietens then randomly starts back. I am assuming the rockers and guides because i am getting 20mpg and the only reason for that good of fuel mileage is something isnt working right lol.. feels a little low on power from what i remember and kicks down a bit more on big hills than it used to. It is all pointing to reduced valve lift IMHO.
I have a 2006 Jeep Commander, Quad II, there's a loud hum (hum being a small explanation) and it only happens when I accelerate or cruise, if I let off the gas it's totally quiet. There's no clunking, clicking or rattleing sound. I've replaced both axles and front hubs,,the noise certainly sounds like it's in the front, maybe the differential. Hoping you might know some about a jeep! Is there a bearing that's causing the trouble in my front carrier? By the way it rides and drives great. Thanks.
There a 3 bearings in the front differential. Try removing the front drive shaft and see if the noise goes away. If it does, then it's 1 of the bearings in the front differential. Most likely the pinion bearing.
@@opasgarage4423 I've read that it won't drive with the front driveshaft out? Some say it's the CV joint on the front shaft but I haven't took it off to check.
I believe that's only if you have a V-8 and the Quad-Trac system. I have a straight 6 (4.0) with the Selec-Trac system. I removed mine and it drove just fine. If Yours doesn't, try shifting the transfer case into 4x4 high and see if that makes it go.
so was the problem a bad cv joint for the rear driveline or was it the u joint…????? i have replaced the front driveshaft front and rear u joint and when i go into 4 wheel it isn’t as bad as it used to sound by a lot but it still makes noise when i go into 4 wheel when im in 2 wheel it doesn’t make any sound at all ? reason im asking is i work at a ski resort seasonal and i need to have my 4 wheel to get to work and back
My noise was caused by a bad CV joint in the front drive shaft. If you watch the video at around the 8 min mark, you can see me removing the bad joint.
