@garrettlandon Thanks!!! Yeah it was such a Blessing to have had my first elk on film. I actually got lucky again and drew another archery elk tag in the same unit this year beginning September 1st. So I'm going to try and hold out for a larger bull. Super excited!

Great video! So many things well done in this, from the opening prayer, to Shane's thankfulness to the Lord, to him presenting the elk to his family, and to Leupold for not editing any of those things! Leupold did a great job of showing Shane and Matt as everyday guys with character, grit, determination, positive attitudes, humbleness, and on and on. @shanezimmerman did you do any sort of necropsy to see what happened to your arrow? I have a guess but I'm just curious if you did any extra "research" to figure out what happened?
We just assumed it hit a rock after the pass thru, but that is only a guess.
got 1st archery elk this year in unit 15. 1st elk tag. any tips for a solo hunter
What part of New Mexico is this, I'm from the north west of NM
I guess it would be considered the south eastern side
What unit?
Without giving it away obviously it is in South Central NM
