That kids is NOT how you train a new guy. No reason to snap fingers and scream. They had this guy here and there for no damn reason. But to scream is highly unprofessional. And yes I did the job and rookies can be frustrating but that is not an excuse to be a dick.
Agreed, one firefighter should be their to instruct and assist the Rookie and the other either pulling hose or spotting for dangers and keeping his mouth shut unless otherwise. The rookies going Quite or something bad is going to happen with all these people yelling at him.
luckly around the 3:25 mark the guy walking up to smash the ballast on the stairs didn't get a face full of nozzle stream. too much running around back and forth with the hose. Hey put some water here. Ok move to another spot then another. And what did it do. not much of anything. you have fire showing from what looks like a hole near bottom of the stairs and nobody thought to see what it is. don't know if it would have made some kind of difference but remember steam rises so it could have knocked it down abit.

There was another hose line seen in the beginning of this video with firefighters on it attacking the fire from the Charlie (back) side. There was also another hose pulled to the opposite side of us. We eventually had to use a master stream in conjunction with our hand lines to finally extinguish this fire.
Hey i might just be a Jr. firefighter but dang this is the biggest fire i seen yet and you know this should be on a training video it can help rookies like me

Stop opening and closing your nozzle hit the fire
looks like too many chiefs not enough Indians everyone more interested in telling him where to put water and moving all around

Does your gear block the heat completely or can you still feel the heat?

Will someone PLEASE take the tip away from this kid and put the fire out?
Wow! What a fire. Like a blast furnace coming out of the floors.
It was quite the fire. This house was fully involved by the time we got there, and it was a defensive strategy all the way. Thanks for the feedback!
Do they only have one hose? It looked like there was another one at the beginning of the video.
