Thanks a lot to you! It's very common on African airfields to ask for POBs, registration mark and endurance. I don't know the true reason, only assumptions!

@@olebogengmokgatlhe19No it’s not. How could that be? We only know the actual number of passengers on board a few minutes before doors closing and this information is not passed on to ATC.

3:35 : He said it because 6.8 DME ILA is the GS intercept point at 2300ft, so he’s acknowledging that since you’re at 2500ft, you’ll be intercepting the GS earlier and higher than charted.

Also, would you be qualified to fly the 787 or would that require a different course altogether?

Magnifique vidéo comme d'hab ! Juste petite question vu que tu as déjà volé sur Airbus, est ce que l'identification du DSE se fait aussi que ce soit sur 320, 330 etc?
Le PF dit que le glide va être intercepté un peu avant car la température est au dessus de ISA et donc l'avion est plus haut que l'altitude donnée par l'altimètre.
Ça aurait pu être une raison en effet mais ce n'est pas la cause principale de cette remarque 😉
Hi - great video but the sound is inaudible on my laptop.
I guess you have intercepted slightly before 6,8nm because you were flying at 2500’ whereas the ILS interception point is af 2300’ 6,8nm. At 2500´ you probably intercepted the 3° glide path at 7,5nm ?

When capturing the localiser and glideslope, does it automatically turn the aircraft and start descending regardless of manual flying?
The FDs follow the Loc and glide but we have to follow there orders to let the aircraft turning and descending.

Salut Y. Une belle approche de nuit. Et qui change des LAX et autres. Marrant le coup des SOB!!! Ha l'Afrique!!!! J'ai un ami qui a beaucoup volé en Afrique il y a une trentaine d'années. Il aimait me raconter que personne ne décollait tant que le Marabout n'était pas venu désenvouter l'avion!!! Sinon pour l'interception je pense que c'est dû à la hauteur d'interception. au vu de la carte, un peu avant 6,8nm vous volez à 2500' alors que le point d'interception ILS est à 2300' 6,8nm. AMHA... Why didn’t you use any star?
Because it was useless, it's often the case in Africa, and it's the same for departures, we often use omnidirectional departures instead of SIDs
