I like DQ because it hasn't changed since the 80s. Even that music. I was 11 when the first Dragon Warrior came out. Now I'm 46. It's a comfortable series with some cozy tunes.
Dragon quest music is good
Ha I love DQ music and love the horns. Thanks for the review!
Dragon quest music is amazing
Dragon Quest music sounds like a junior high school band is playing it. It was okay in the SNES era, pretty flat sounding now.
@@LordelX nah it sounds like midevil Europe sound amazing still
@@LordelX Nope. It sounds pretty cool in today's time, compared with all the trash we hear from other RPG's.
Have to disagree about the music, maybe coz i play all of dq game and it gave me some nostalgic feelings. the spin off game usually use a lot of re arrangements of past dq game music.good or bad depend on each person really..Good video oj 👍
Yeah alot of the music is just rearranged music that's been featured in D8 on 3DS, DQ11 Synthesized ost, & even something like Rocket Slime on DS.
Good review.
I have fun with the game, restoring the railroad, doing daily challenges, filling the treasure.
This is my current chill game and love it
Dragon Quest music is great
I liked Erik in Dragon Quest 11 and the recruiting monsters thing reminds me of the dragon quest monsters series which I really loved so I definitely plan on trying this game out
Agree on the price. I’m having a blast with it. The gameplay loop is really fun and I like doing the quests and building my base up. Awesome review Oj.
Unggg I'm looooooping
Good review. Many people would complain without that kind of music. Its sort of expected in Dragon Quest games at this point. I agree they could try and remix some of it and add different elements in there along with the standerd old school
I want to say I love watching your reviews and everything to deal with the switch. You been got a subscriber already so keep up the awesome work
This is the best review of this game, it has the most detailed explanation of the gameplay and game out there. Well done and thanks for taking the time to do it right!
See you every week on the SpawnWave podcast. First time viewer of your own channel. Was looking for reviews and your channel came up as the 4th result, so I figured I'd trust your opinion on it.
Been having a blast with this game. Very addicted to the gameplay loop.
The game is good 👍. I enjoyed exploring the gaming world looking for treasures.
I feel like Treasures will definitely be brought to all platforms soon enough. I'm sure that will help shine a lot of it.
Wish they did better in advertising and pricing it. I'm sure it will see more after a good price drop.
Played the demo 2 days ago and it made me buy the game! Got a physical one for about $25 on Black Friday sales. Can't wait to play the full game! And if I end up not linking it, I think that I'll be able to sell it for a higher price down the line so no regrets.
The music is pretty good in this one, it's just a bright soundtrack that fits the games style. The music is definitely not like that family guy clip, not even close lol.
I definitely want to see more reviews like this
😂 bro chill! The music is just fine! It isn't the best but it has its charm.
This game is quite addictive. My only complain is that it doesn't allow cloudsaves. I play my main switch at home and my lite when I'm out of the house but I can't move my save data back and forth so...I don't play this when I'm away from home.
Think I'm gonna pick it up. I bet this one will be expensive down the road. Most dragon quest games go up in value.
I agree with you 💯 I have the same issue with the game if anything maybe a ps4/ps5 release that with 60fps will change the experience. I like the concept just need that little bit of push
Damn, disrespecting the Dragon Quest 2 overworld theme :/
Oj was going ham on the music. 😂
Dragon Quest Treasures is a good game. I can see it has the potential for a sequel that can expand upon the gameplay. It doesn't have to be perfect or have a fuckin' orchestrated soundtrack all of the damn time. It just works the way it is.
Between Gamestop points and Honey cashback I managed to grab this one for about $25. Something about it just made me want it (it hasn't gotten here yet). I dig the cartoony style and I've always wanted something akin to an action/rpg "Pokemon" game but I'm disappointed to hear about the melee issues. Patch, maybe?
How does it compare to Dragon Quest Monsters?
Hope it sells well.
I'm on the fence about it... I might get it after the holidays.
Although I disagree with the statement about DQ’s music, I can understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Good review, and it gave me a better idea about the game. Im likely to pick it up
Honestly, I understand the music not being for you. But to someone who has played Dragon Quest games regularly it just sounds like Dragon Quest and is what people are expecting.
i'll wait for a sale
Dragon Quest Music is amazing OJ. I will agree that it needs to be the full orchestra, not the polyphonic stuff.
I bought it
Fair and subjective, the DEFINITIVE JRPG SWITCH RUclipsR IS HERE.
My copy is on the way. Looks pretty good.
@@francescabenjamin9341 ally oop!
SE has no excuse to not make the soundtrack orchestrated since Sujiyama is gone.
Elden ring doesn’t have a delay in its attacks or button inputs lol
My 2 biggest problems. 1. Dodging. Its completely useless. It doesn't roill far enough to actually dodge anything, and theres no animation cancelling so if your mid attack you cant dodge. 2. Healing and dodging both being the same button. Forces you to stand still to try and heal except then you're just open for attack. So many times I'm trying to heal but then bam ranom ice breath 7 hits im dead. Or notice an attack try to dodge but it either homes in on me or I just roll to the edge of the attack radius and get hit either way.
Yeah it seemed that way to me too but now that I have had more time with it I found if you spam roll there is hidden frames of being invincible mainly inside the treasure maps where the level of the enemies are more than you and you need to avoid them sometimes ,they always come for you.Never really needed it anywhere else though.
You are paying $20 extra for the brand name sadly…
I wouldn't spend 60$ I'll probably pick it up around 30$
I'll wait for a sale I think. Dragon Quest is great but the reviews I've seen make this one feel like a mobile game.
Thanks for the review! This convinced me not to get it.
Have to disagree about the music. I produce music, and I personally don't mind the sound. Not everything has to be orchestrated. To top it off, OJ--No, you have not played a lot of RPG's with amazing soundtracks. One example is Xenoblade Chronicles 3; a mostly garbage OST. I can listen to Dragon Quest music, no matter if it's electronic or orchestrated. It has more easier sounds to listen to. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an example of a "big game" that should have had better tracks, and NOT re-using that same damn track they used for all the so-called emotional/important parts of the story/side quests. That music got SO old after being reused 5 million times. Also, I disagree about the "talking". I prefer more talking because SO many modern RPG's have barely any NPC interactions/dialog. Hell, many have barely anything to interact with at all. Just shells of incomplete games that need updates to even feel close to complete. Not only that, but Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a better example of useless talking. They wasted SO much time and never reached a satisfying conclusion. A game you hyped up, lol. That fuckin' game DID bore me after a time. And it's ashame,, really. Because that game had the potential to be better than it is. Boring world, barely any NPC's, TOO much hand-holding, no real interesting places to explore & interact with, etc. So, of course, Dragon Quest, thankfully, has stuck more faithfully to it's core material. Not Xenoblade, on the other hand. However, Xenoblade Chronicles X is how the series should've stayed with, IMHO. Customization. It should have went the way of Xenogears and used gears as a means. XBC3 is WAY too goody. Even beating out Dragon Quest. I care more for Erik and Mia, over Noah and Mio.
A 76 percent on metacritic is good.
At this point is irrelevant if a dq game is good. It has to be bought now or pay a lot later lol
Might get it down the line, I'm trying to be a more responsible gamer. (Looks at backlog ) A demo for this probably would've helped.
That would've been a good idea to help because the price for a spin off especially right next to a full fledge remaster of Crisis Core is a recipe for disaster.
There is a demo
Loved the review! Dragon quest is comfort food for rpgamers and I think you captured that spirit perfectly on your positive & negative remarks! I feel like I could listen to you going on about DQ music all day lol.
Cheers from 🇧🇷!
Music is opinion based. Just accept P.E. just doesn't like the music and sub-par on his taste.
When you compare it to prominent rpgs in the market, DQ music is mediocre. Just accept your taste is subpar 😂
@@DankMemeCenterX nah dq is one of the best of all RPGs ever
Yeah personally I do agree with the midi soundtrack being underwhelming but I do see this is a 80 rated game. I can't help but disagree with you on this review.
I'm waiting for it to come down to 40$
If your not a fan of the DQT music, then your really not a fan of the DQ music in general. The music oozes DQ! Your absolutely in the minority buddy.
All in all it just seems your not a fan of DQ in general. Cause this game, besides the obvious more focus on treasure hunting and action based gameplay, is as dragon quest as u can get. This video is honestly sad.😑
I think people like recent DQ music for the nostalgia. It’s doesn’t sound that good.
