- This is a home-made cat playground in 2 parts: the PLAYGROUND made of timber structure, and the TOWER made from a 2nd. hand disposed RUBBER thick pipe. Both structures are covered with carpet off-cuts. The tower has several inside steps on a bit less than "half-moon" shape, also covered in carpet too.
UPDATE: in my case, I was lucky to find a rubber tube, BUT it can be made out of thick CARDBORD tube. They actually do exist in the market and are more easy to handle, cut, glue, etc...

I just changed one of the top platforms from the original make for another more solid and stable.
I've saved lots of money doing this myself, while getting most of the parts from 2nd hand material building yards. Cats prefer solid but tall structures, but they can be ridiculously expensive from pet shops, while the material are often too weak in most cases and the carpet used is also too thin and soft. Cats prefer thick and rough carpets to dig and to scratch with their claws. I recommend solid pine (NEVER particle boards or MDF) for the structure, so in time you will be able to replace the torned up carpet and hold it with staples or contact glue as I did.

Now as a tribute, remembering our beloved Lollipop, who passed away on December 15, 2023. She was a beautiful and incredible companion to our family and, especially for Nino, who is still alive and healthy until now, after 14 years of being together and having released this cat playground + cat tower we made for them and filmed in this video.
They took to that cat tree like a duck to water. They figured it out quickly.

+Sarah Kisner Don't worry about your luck. "Luck" is what we make with will and passion from our hearts. If you make this with love as you love your cats, they will surely enjoy it. You play while you make it, and they will play for their lives. Just make sure that it is stable, it doesn't shake too much or lose balance when they play, that the cats have plenty carpet around it to sink their claws and rip it AND a PLATFORM (1 or 2) as high as you can, so they can "stay" there. Cats love to climb, rest and look from the top.
Sometimes our "luck" changes when we understand how others (cats, dogs or humans) feel. So, enjoy with them and don't worry!!!.... :-)

What type of material s that circle tower?
I bought that tube 2nd. hand on a demolishing retail store. Because (I suspect) is for major drainage purposes, must be a composite of rubber with threaded mesh inside because it allowed me to use the staple gun and the jigsaw like it where made of wood. If you cannot get it, could be a square tower made of plywood. It is up to your imagination. ;-)
Also, Steven, I missed to suggest that there are HUGE cardboard tubes available too!... so, not necessarily must be made on PVC. I was lucky to find that tube, but I wouldn't hesitate to make it from cardboard either, and ... it is lighter... ;-)
This is amazing. I have two 1 year old sister cats. only they don't play together anymore. I mean they used to like at 1:39 - 1:57. How do I get them active again. Will a cat climset help?
+Ko-en knowles-carter I am not a cat specialist, but very much depends the incentive they have to play together. Mine are indoor cats, never go out, so they - after 8 years - still chase each other and play around the house. The little one you see here have grown up in size so much that she is almost twice the brown one size. She is 'massive' but still enjoys playing. I wonder if your cats are nutted and go outside, if yes they may need more the mutual playing as their attention is about other cats, territory, etc. If not, make sure they have enough space inside the house and are not "ignored" or left alone. Cats - like dogs - need stimulation and attention, but the playground itself it's just an important aid for their claws, to sleep, hide and play. Mine do not play as much in it as they did when were young, but they still use the playground very much.
+Carlos Diaz One more thing, if they are indoor cats and lack space - besides the playground - sometimes you can build like an outdoor cage connected to the house or balcony, so they can wonder around in touch with air and sounds outside.
Carlos Diaz Thank you for the respond! One of them goes outside. She is very active and fit. The other one doesn't because she simply can't survive out there. They both have had a traumatic experience. They were thrown in the trash when they were born and found a couple days later. So one recovered better than the other. Maybe I should give them more attention, because of school I sometimes forget that. The inside one is getting really fat so I just want them to get active again because the lack of exercise is the reason for the fat gain. Again thank you for the respond and tips! and you have very cute cats.
Id say that one is around $500. I would rather build one for my fur babies ♡
Much cheaper than that if you make it yourself, as I did. Just get the parts + carpet from 2nd. hand construction yards. I would risk saying $150 top (if you buy too much) :-)

the way they fight makes me sad
fight?... they were playing!, as all cats do, a bit rough. Even today, the "little" one is bigger than the brown male, and still play on the same way. They love each other very much.
