I am so glad that worked out for you. It doesn't work for everyone. I got a bad biter OES years ago from a rescue home that i had to return. there is often a reason why any dog is in Rescue.
@@Michael-gu8ck I chose her because she stood back from all the other dogs that rushed forwards. When I removed her matted coat she was a bag of bones, it took time to build her back up again health wise. The rescue home said that the family where she came from couldn't afford to feed their six children let alone the dog. She would cowl if I raised my voice, I think she had been severely beaten. But she became very confident again in these loving arms. She was so loving.
@@Michael-gu8ck a reason, sure obviously there is a reason. Usually it the original owner was lazy and didn't want to properly train the dog. And then there's cases where the owner has to move or gets a divorce or gets sick or just for whatever reason can no longer care for their dog
Bert is something special. You are lucky to be with him. What a beautiful loving dog. We had Hans and Trudy growing up. Best dogs a boy could have. Rugged and adventurous when I was a kid on the ranch. O is for a happy childhood.
even after many years i still miss my old english bertie, another name back in the day was a bob tail, he was a gentle giant of a dog, never let a person rub their necks because the fur will knot, he was so popular around the pubs in sussex
I've had three and I would never have a different breed. The head tilt, the wiggle butt, velcro dogs......they are the best. My last one weighed 104 pounds. She was huge. When she got old my husband wold carry her up the stairs but she was the one who would groan. We miss our girls so much
I've had three. All were Happy Clowns who liked everybody. Mine always wanted to get squirrels, but when we got a rabbit, I thought she'd get it....but no, once identified as a family member, she loved the rabbit.
We had one year's ago. In the summer he was shaved and that confused people. He also had a tail, very good for clearing coffee tables. He liked chasing birds and often ended up with green fur after trying turn too quickly and rolling over. Miss him,
I feed mine science diet sensitive stomach, its a good one to try if yours gets diarrhea, its a lighter food and makes their poo more firm. Sorry if that is gross.
Thanks for the tip on science diet I switched over and it has worked exceptionally well. Gas issues are pretty much gone stools are better thanks again appreciate your help
90 pounds?? That's quite a big dog for a female haha, my eldest male dog is 80 pounds, he's 9 years old and doesn't eat much, granted he's never been a big eater but our male puppy is 62 pounds at 8 months so it's looking like he's gonna be quite a big fella.
Beautiful dog. My sister in law just lost her OES and is beyond heartbroken. She cannot be without a dog. Do you have a female (a white head would be great). She has had OES all her life.
Are their tails chopped off? I hate that. I prefer long tails and I don't understand why they need to be mutilated. They do that to mini sheepadoodles.
Hi,I just got an old English sheepdog she’s very hyper and when she sees someone she pee’s her self with excitement! I have a question, what age will she start to calm down?
You need to be more open about the upkeep that is the only thing saving these magnificent dogs from overbreeding. I know I eventually purchased professional clippers, and always kept my boy clipped.
Due to the shedding, I got a Sheepadoodle. Old English Sheep Dog mix with poodle. He is the love of the family and even my 13 lbs maltipoo loves him. He is gentle, smart, caring, playful and respectful (never chews on anything other than his toys, etc).
They shed very very lightly, coat that falls out gets caught in the rest of the dog's fur which is one reason why they require so much grooming. But they are a low shedding breed, and they tend toward very low prey drive, so you are unlikely to have a problem with a smaller dog in the house or cats (I have four cats, and I have fostered small dogs with mine) provided you take the time to socialize them correctly. :)
@@vombatiformes I agree 100% with you I have an old English sheepdog and she sheds almost never. I’ve never seen her shed I don’t have a single piece of fur on my furniture or floors. Absolutely no reason to get a mix although sheepadoodles are beyond adorable although I heard they’re extremely active more than the old English sheepdog
I SERIOUSLY THINK THATS MY REAL FATHER, SERJ TANKIAN'S OLD SEACH AND RESCUE DOG FROM THE COAST GAURD! CAN YOU BRING HIM TO MY FATHER?! IM TRYING TO HELP HIM REMEMBER WHO HE WAS. HE HAD HAS AMNSEIA FROM AN ACCIDENT IN 1997. MY PPOR FATHER HAS BEEN LIVING LIFE ON AUTO PILOT WITHOUT ANY KNOWLEDGE OF WHO HE IS FOR 27 YEARS!
He’s so adorable, he’s like a life sized teddy bear
Burt is living large & loving life.
They're adorable, we were blessed to get an Old English Sheepdog from a rescue home.

Thank you! As a fellow dog lover, I just want to say thank you for adopting one of these. I've always loved OES dogs
How? They're never in shelters. If they are, they only last for 5 minutes.
Oh he’s so adorable
I watch HIDDEN SPRING FARM and they have TWO OES... Molly and Olive. Just adorable watching them and all the farm life 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Omg did you see his video today? It’s heartbreaking! His Molly was hit by a car on the farm and sadly died. 😭
@@cathlinejohnson1856 broke my heart. How could that guest be driving THAT FAST
@@HELENGodLovesthat was my thought. I feel so awful for them.
On a happy note I’m picking up my OES this coming Sunday!

LOL! Funny you would mention the pubs because I could take my boy anywhere-including fireworks-without hesitation. I mean, like nothing fazes them.
He's a whole ball of floof!

I adore my OES. He will be two January 2023. You're right, they think everyone should want to pet them. What characters they are.

Great thanks no that makes total sense. I was using purina pro plan and then ultra nutro. But soft stools on both.
I feed my Sheepadoodle TLC and he loves it!

Big black shiny nose!!
I’ve been on a waiting list in Australia for last 5 years and still waiting. Really sad.
