brian really was a huge part of this band! he had a real presence and his splashes of paint to his songs made them really special. i don't think they would have been so big without him!! really like his beard pics excellent video thanks
I was young and vaguely remember when he died. Just saw documentary and in love with this talented icon. He had intelligence, talent, fashion flair and a gorgeous face. He was way ahead of his time. Totally outshined Mick! Highly intelligent people do not conform. He was not bipolar.
The Rolling Stones 1964-1968 DVD all with Brian 3 hours .Crystal clear audio and video.Best Tribute to Brian of all time.I still have a couple of original DVD.
I don't believe ANYONE was photographed anymore than Brian Jones in the sixties. Jimi Hendrix was second. Influenced my style and others in the early seventies for sure.
stones pictures never be the same without brian he was so photogenic more than mick & keith even death he is more interesting than charlie and billie and we never see a old fuzzie brian he always going to be young for us
A toast to the original founding father of the rolling stones, a man-child wild, hyper sensitive, musical prodigy with profound talent and like his pisces nature was the colorful soul of the stones. Years ahead of his time he set the standard regarding fashion and image. A gifted star that shined so bright. Tragic how he was murdered by Keylocks thug Frank T. And yet, to this day Brian's legacy rocks on.
I always hoped and thought a really good movie about BRIAN could be made and Starring HEATH LEDGER though much bigger in size it wouldnt matter the movie Stoned was crap Now heath is gone too they looked alot alike and heath would become brian so well so talented he was both
so sad to see his decline into drugs in photos. the picture at 5:58 really shows how bad he had become. Brian was the Rolling Stones, a genius musician who could play any musical instrument. and the sitar he plays on Paint It Black, will never be bettered.
Brian Jones FOREVER! Mick and Keith are bad people. I read an interview with Mick & he said that when he thinks back on it, they kind of picked on Brian.
Some of these photo's are great shots, some show Brian's moods & lack of ability to hide the emotion from his face & others he looks absolutely terrible, like he's not slept for weeks ! What killed Brian?? Hard work..plain & simple ! Oh & a helping hand from Thorogood of coarse. RIP Brian. RX
thanks for you comment is more easy to reason with stones fans than others i think because we have more open mind specially if you like brian jones you learn that from him
A major reason that Keith - especially - and Mick downplay Brian's importance and contributions is to rewrite history. Brian taught Keith guitar licks and the slide, Mick the mouth organ, he laid down countless instrumentals the others ran with and captured the essence of the times like no other 60s muso. A musical legend whose star will rise after they've all gone.
Jones ' legacy is remarkably enigmatic. He was an undisputed instrumental genius, but he never contributed a single original composition to the group. He was key to forming the Stones and charting the band's direction, but now he is virtually forgotten. Far more than Mick or Keith, he was the embodiment of danger and rebellion, but today 9 out of 10 people today couldn't put a name with his image. But those of us who remember him from the 60's will never forget.
He was without out a doubt one of the most unrecognized members of the group. He had an IQ of 200 and may have been a Scientist if he hadn't gone into Music I he may have displayed early signs of being Bipolar but in those days nobody knew what it was. He learned how to play the Sitar for Paint It Black and it was he who introduced his love of The Blues To MJ who in turn introduced it to KR and the rest is history. He died at the former home of AA Milne who wrote Winnie The Pooh.
No one is questioning Brian Jones' obvious talents as a musician, but today many people remember him with some idealised, fictitious image. By all available accounts, he was very much a Dr.Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde; a man who could behave quite normally(even pleasantly) to some people, while being harsh, callous and cruel to others. Sadly,we'll never know what his solo music would have been like, but if he had lived longer he would have ended up playing blues in small clubs...like Mick Taylor.
@mandaltby He founded and named the band. Btw: Keith never mentioned that Brian kept the extra 5 pounds to pay for phone calls and stamps to get them gigs.
He didn't have an IQ of 200. It was 135. Very impressive, but he still wouldn't have qualified for Mensa. Nontheless, he was very intelligent (In some ways) and talented... He easily passed his eleven-plus and could have been Oxford or Cambridge material had he motivated himself or applied himself that way...
Go to `Rolling Stones talk about Brian Jones` on here for starters. Secondly I know 3 people who were involved in the music business at that time and (really did) knew him well. Their words are unprintable. You got to differtiate between starstruck fans who never met the guy and simply worship an icon, and people who actually had (frequently) the misfortune to work/socialise with the guy.
@kittenlyric In addition to Keith Richards, there is A.E. Hotchner's "Blown Away", which is a collection of reminiscenses by Ian Stewart, Marianne Faithful, and many others. Unless you actually knew him personally, I would say that if you think you knew the "real Brian Jones" from the mountain of media bs that surrounded the Stones, you are in Lalaland.
@TwistedSister09 you are arguing that the worman is responsible if she gets hit. thats exactly what you said. and your saying i seem like a kid. you clearly too young to grasp the seriousness of domestic abuse. as for everything i read, well i work in the music industry and have been fortunate to work with the stones, so i know a number of the people personally.
@kittenlyric Some rockfans talk about rockstars like american funamentalist vigars in their small wooden churches who talk about God and this Son of him.
@TwistedSister09 brian jones was a key part of the stones but he used to beat anita pallenberg, bail on gigs and became impossible to work with. keith and mick kept the band going and are rock and roll legends. end of. point proven.
@MickeyLove01 what does his class have to do with anything? and your saying one of the worlds greatest frontmen has an average voice? "quite successful"? you clearly dont actually have a clue what your talking about.
If only he weren't so narcissistic and schizo (and liked to beat up the ladies) he could have had a nice niche in the Stones into the 70's, or at least formed his own band. Guy just had too many issues.
At age 13 I was enthralled with Brian Jones and his teardrop shaped guitar. He was THE the real Rolling Stone. I miss him
Oh Brian, you are the soul of the Stones.
The others are nothing compared to you.
Beautiful and precious Brian, we love you.:)
You are not forgoten.
brian really was a huge part of this band! he had a real presence and his splashes of paint to his songs made them really special. i don't think they would have been so big without him!! really like his beard pics excellent video thanks
Great pix, thanks for posting. Yes, Brian was the golden charm of the band. And that can never change. : )
Brian Jones was a musical visionary, who contrary to popular belief could write music (he was also extremely beautiful to look at!).
I was young and vaguely remember when he died. Just saw documentary and in love with this talented icon. He had intelligence, talent, fashion flair and a gorgeous face. He was way ahead of his time. Totally outshined Mick! Highly intelligent people do not conform. He was not bipolar.

Brian Jones
He was a handsome fellow...
kiss from vienna/Austria - ja ja the Brian :-=) still now I miss him
A lack of self-confidence and support from those around him led Brian Jones to such a sad end.
my favorite stone
Great vid and pics
R.I.P Brian always remembered X

@Cupidville Yes. For those who don't believe: Read Bill Wyman's book 'Stone alone'.
RIP Brian

@bexiang67 Yes a very intellectual person. A report of his psychiatrist also says he had an over-average IQ.
Tyx! Glad to got this!

laminage His IQ was 135. Not 200!!!
Brian Jones was murdered!!!
thanks man I wasnt even sure if it download on RUclips or not
@buddiedude
is that what the autopsy showed? poor guy. makes me wonder what Keith Richards body would be like, and how he's still here and Brians not.

BRIAN JONES EL QUE LE PUSO EL PAN A LOS ROLLING STONES Y COMO LE TRATAN EL GRUPO
@zapspace Thank you for explaining this to all of us. I'm sure the world needs more of your insights.
@Stoned65 He also owned the name of the band which was his idea...
And then he went and ruined it. 🐝
Dig the cricket photo - not something you expect with a group like the Stones...
Fan-bloody-tastic.
nice
It's sad ........In the begining Brian looked so happy and full of life. In the end.........he looked like a total burnout. Sad.
code2high MICK & KEITH SUCKED THE LIFE OUT OF BRIAN...TOOK EVERYTHING THEY COULD...THEN DISCARDED HIM.
Les Stones de Brian!
I think you mean the Monterey International Pop Festival
"The lines around my eyes are protected by a copyright law." Mick about Brian
with brian they were the rolling stones......without him they should just be called the stones.....hmmmmmm?
STONED is the name of song
The Rolling Stones
in pirate terms mutiny is when the crew jumps the captain not the other way around.
Very well said.
Dandy!

Can somebody tell me what is that song and where ai can find it ? thanx ;)

That is one awesome book! I had to read it, twice.
@daniellaoalsson Read also 'Stone alone', Bill Wyman's book. I think "picking on him" is an euphemism.
What are the songs?
who killed sgt pepper?
👥👥
yeah it was a b side for the "i wanna be your man" single, i dont know where i found it to tell you the truth, i could possibly send it to you
Too bad, he wasted his life by over dosing on drugs. He has talent in composing music and handling various musical instruments
Sorry , but Brian deserved a bit less sloppy video.....music stopping after a few minutes,,,,,,,,?
wow the riff is Green Onions
thank you :)
so, it will be very nice from you if you send me that....;)

@saltlix Thats because nobody liked him.
He was beautiful, but he was an asshole to the other guys, taking more cash and calling it his band. In pirate terms he had a mutiny
mandaltby and they showed their gratitude.....

such a shame he became a total knob.
@kittenlyric I'm neither pro-Keith nor anti-Brian. I'm "anti" rock fans like you who put rock stars on pedestals.
