Much as I would have loved to have gone in my Airstream, this is proof (as if it were needed) that you can have just as much fun with a 1971 Sprite fitted with a decent (Whale) heating system! :)
Beautiful video!! Of course my favorite part was you holding Dougal by the fire and giving him lots of kisses. I sit outside with my dog on my lap every day and do the same thing. No fire or snow (we are in central Texas in the US) but she enjoys watching the neighborhood. Continue to enjoy life, Dougal and Glynnis!
Thank you so much for the work you put into these! The aerial at 10:17 is mind boggling both for the landscape and for the effort in droning while driving
Loved it loved it. Back to the old days with the airstream and treacherous orchestra playing or our fave band Skerryvore. Andrew it’s your vlogs that got me into the true love of this beautiful country of Scotland. Thank you. Al
Glynis looked great! Back in the early seventies, it was my dream to own a Sprite Alpine and go to Scotland with it. I finally achieved it in 1977, with my 12 year old Alpine, pulled by my 160,000 mile Wartburg Knight Tourist. (1000cc, 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine from East Germany). We went as far north as Inverness. Happy memories. One day Andrew, you might get your own car back, and your Airstream! Hopefully sooner rather than later! Best wishes to you and Dougal.
What a beautiful film, particularly liked the aerial shots and together with the sound track you added made me feel as though I was there. So relaxing.
What a lovely video, Andrew. Seems Scotland and the Outer Hebrides in particular hold a special place in your heart. Wishing you, Dougal, and Glynnis a safe and happy New Year!
Happy to see you back on the tarmac once more, especially in the Hebrides. It was a delayed Christmas gift, for me, to be able to tag along. Thanks, Andrew.
A lovely video. I love Scotland but never been as far North as you have. The scenery is to die for. You and Dougal survived the cold and live to film another day. Happy New Year.
what a fantastic video. you show what is is to have true wealth. This kind of freedom is so hard for some to acheive. I love it. It makes me feel alive. ))
We always had Sprites , but there is something so special about Glynis, you have restored her beautifully. And I have a soft spot for Sprites , we have a nice 18 foot Avondale at Gretna . But people tend not to want bigger Caravans now for towing. We have bought a Vintage 10 foot Compass Echo that was just literally shell . First thing we did before we towed Rambling Rose 🌹 away was to get two brand new tyres. We are not restoring Rambling Rose to the level you have restored Glynis. And you can rightly be proud of Glynis. I can’t wait to do the C500 . Glad you had a special time and were able to exercise your Gaelic. My late dad was a Glaswegian and spoke some Gaelic .
Thanks very much! But I'm afraid I cannot take the credit for renovating Glynnis - I don't have those skills! I bought her pretty much ready-renovated in the summer, but now of course I have to keep on top of the maintenance and fixing things, which is a full-time occupation! Le dùrachdan, Anndra :)
Whaou Andrew. Superbe vidéo.c'est même plus c'est un film et tu nous fait rêver andrew.on t'adore 👏👏 happy New year Andrew and dougal 👏👏👏 et vive la caravane 😉
Andrew thanks so much for this Hebridean fix. That wee spot you were on is one of our favourites too. You were really blessed that night with the weather. Safe travels and glad G is now keeping you warm. (Doggys on tour)
Proves that anything is possible with a little determination. I love seeing Dougal running up the the familiar steps of the 🛳CalMac ferry 🐶 Cosy times on the beach with the open fire 🔥 and a special kiss and cuddle for precious Dougal xx
Hi Andrew, absolutely loved this video, blew my mind! Just want to say thank you for opening my eyes to the Outer Hebrides. I used to go on holiday to the Highlands, mainly Grantown on Spey and lately I have this burning desire to return to Scotland. Your videos have inspired me to return and hopefully visit the Outer Hebrides. I just seem to have this calling that I should go back to Scotland. Looking forward to your new Vlogs in the O.H!
Cheers Gray! Funnily enough I went to Grantown on Spey summer 2019 (check for the vlogs) and loved it. But I admit, the islands have the edge. Maybe see you up there soon!
What an amazing man you are! Luv this solitide esp this time of year & Luv U and Dougal wherever you go. Your sketch at Christmas, well made my Christmas and I will never forget it ever! 2020 is here and yay! Thanks for opening up my eyes :-)
I am going to the Outer Hebridies in April. I only discovered your videos after I had booked much of my accommodation. I am travelling by car but so much enjoy viewing your descriptions, the scenery and your advice on places to go and eat. So professionally presented and edited. I have already reserved a table at Cafe Kisimul on my first night upon arriving in Castlebay. I am likely not the only one who enjoys most the beautiful relationship between man and dog, something I can very much relate to.
Thanks Stan! Have a great time and enjoy the Kisimul. It always helps the cause if you mention to folks where you found out about them, cheers! I should be around in April so look out for the Navara. All the best.
You looked so sad leaving the Outer Hebrides. I get that feeling every time I leave Scotland, as they say, home is where the heart is. Happy New Year to you both, hope 2020 is your best ever.
Simply wonderful 😍 What a shoot! Took a similar trip from London in my DIY conversion in Autumn couple years ago. Parked at some stunning isolated craggy spots, blue skies, best photos I've ever snapped, other-worldly place. Fabulous overheads you got 👌🍻

It's so lovely to see you and Dougal enjoying yourself in the outer Hebrides again. We are planning to go late Spring/early Summer and Russ been learning some Gaelic. Love the decor of Gylnnis. Happy New Year to you and Dougal 😊✨
When I was 12 in 1967 I’d go with my brother in-law and his brothers bow hunting deer in central Wisconsin in late December ,they had two trailers and you could go off grid in cold weather. Back then trailers ( caravans ) had heaters with no blowers and gas lights, gas refrigerators , so there was no worries about batteries , just the chance of your water freezing.
Happy New Year to you. Loved this production particularly the drone shots. Lucky to get the weather combining to provide you with bright sunshine and relatively calm conditions to allow drone flight. 🍻
Thank you for positioning the camera in such a way I feel like I’m along for the ride 🤍 watching for a second time this Sunday morning... couldn’t bare the news anymore. I didn’t realize I had missed somethings the first time viewing. So beautiful and relaxing 😌
We took a 1967 Sprite 400 to the Alps in December 1972 for a skiing holiday. 4 people and Christmas Dinner plus the presents. Very enjoyable and despite freezing temperatures quite cosy with a few simple modifications.
OMG Andrew! That brought back so many memories! Used to drive from south coast up to Hebrides on my own in a Luton van quite a bit for work. (Don't ask, but you might be able to guess). The footage of the driving on the lovely Scottish roads: Scenery with a capital "S"! A82 up from Glasgow, dramatic Glencoe ("crawled" through there in a heavy snowstorm behind a snowplough once)! Lovely Uig bay. Used to stay in the Uig Hotel (yes, I know - it was work!) just up the hill. Caught ferry next day after brekky. Once I was the only person (literally after the staff had gone after evening meal!) in the building until brekky. You might know this, there's a lovely secluded waterfall in Uig. Didn't realise how close the campsite was to the mini roundabout and pier. Think there was a mini brewery there as well. Miss all the smells of the islands - seaweed, rich smell of burning peat, lovely fresh air coming off the sea. There's no doubt about it, it's blooming lovely up there. Glad You had the chance to give the Whale heater a "real" test! Your lil friend is so lucky to have an owner that takes him all these places! I'm going to say it as well, rather stunning photography. Happy New Year, hope You get the Airstream back soon. Here's to great adventures in 2020! Andy

We took a 1967 Sprite 400 to the Alps in December 1972 for a skiing holiday. 4 people and Christmas Dinner plus the presents. Very enjoyable and despite freezing temperatures quite cosy with a few simple modifications.
WOW! Christmas Dinner in a Sprite 400 sounds like a challenge! Sounds like a fun albeit cosy experience :)
Andy
Cheers Andy! Glad to help bring back some happy memories :)
Happy New Year...wishing you all the best in 2020! 🤗
Thank you! And back at ya!
Lovely, lovely vlog Andrew!
Also it may show, but we love Retro! Long live the Sprite!!!
Thanks guys! Happy New Year to you :)
Hi Andrew. Fantastic video. Not sure how you do the aerial work but the results are great. Nice meeting you last week at Peterborough. Keep well. Steve.
Cheers Steve! I have a co-pilot who lives there, hence the only tracking shots are in the islands.
