    The 10x50 Diamondback HD are really hard to beat at their current price point. If you shop around they can be found for around $200. Their performance isn't perfect but for 98% of the consumers out there they would be plenty good. The included accessories are a bonus. I don't use the covers personally as they just get in my way, but they're there if you need them. The new case is pretty neat. The Diamondback HD models are made in China and the Viper HD models are made in Japan. While the glass is technically better in the Viper HD they are also 10+ years old. I think the Diamondback HD are an excellent compromise between cost and quality. If you're very picky about optical quality then I'd recommend the Vortex Razor UHD model but that is a serious investment; however, the Razor HD models are in a whole other league. For 1/8th the cost, you can get a very solid binocular in the Diamondback HD 10x50. My only nitpick about the Diamondback HD model was the focus wheel was a tad stiff. It did loosen over time but it's not as "silky smooth" as the higher-end binoculars. A great example of this was comparing it to the Leica Trinovid HD 10x42. The optical quality was virtually identical, and at times, almost hard to differentiate between the two. The Leica has improved controls (and those extra fit & finish features) but also at 4x times the cost. Cheers!

      I agree that you can’t beat the 10x50 Diamondback HD price for the performance that you get out of the binoculars. I hope you stay in contact and Subscribe. Until next time Nick and Thank you for Watching!

    Kowa BDII XD 6.5x and their cheap $100 6x (same as discontinued Leupold Mackenzie) have extremely wide and far depth of field perfect for hunting don't need to keep on fiddling with focusing all the time it's mostly clear throughout a long range of distance distance.

    I have the former edition of Viper HD in 6x32 configuration. Excellent binoculars. These are keepers.
    I tried the new Viper HD 8x42 and was dissapointed: while the new line has wider field of view than the predecessor, it has come on the expense of eye relief. It did not give satisfactory eye relief with eyeglasses for me(or if the eye lens was too recessed). This is a big drawback for a high class 8x42 today.

    I’m looking in to vortex viper 10x42, 10x50 and 12x50 just for general use, like all in one, which one you would recommend ? They are 20% off now in Cabelas

      It really all depends what your using them for and how much money you wanna spend. If you hunt a lot and use a range finder? I’d go big and get the Vortex Fury’s they are are binoculars with built in range finder and they are awesome. I hope that helps and let me know what you end up getting. I hope you stay in contact and Subscribe. Until next time Slobodan and Thank you for Watching!

    Just got a pair of 12x50 Diamondbacks. They seem to he pretty decent,.especially for the price. I've been using my late dad's 63 year old Sankyo 8x40 and they still work. No, the D'Backs wonr be as good as a Steiner Commander or Swarosky, ut they donr cost $3,000 either. Like my boots. Chippewa are more than what i need and especially for the price. Chips aren't going to be as good as Nick's but they don't cost as much as Nick's either.

    Depth of field is a function of magnification.

    • @pewpewswithmr.x
      @pewpewswithmr.x  Год назад

      I get that, but what’s your point?

    • @tomallen6073
      @tomallen6073 Год назад +1

      If you’re comparing a 10X binoculars to a 8X binocular your DOF is going to be reduced in the 10X. So that means less of the,image will be in focus.

    • @pewpewswithmr.x
      @pewpewswithmr.x  Год назад +3

      What you are saying is true and what I said in the video is also true. The quality of the glass and other components help tremendously with making the object your looking at clear or not with your DOF. That’s what I was explaining in the video. I hope you stay in contact and Subscribe. Until next time Tom and Thanks for Watching!

    So between Diamondback 12x50 and 10x50 which would be better to look at planets and starts? Also I’ll be traveling with them so they must be compact as well.

    • @pewpewswithmr.x
      @pewpewswithmr.x  9 месяцев назад

      I sounds like a more personal preference question! If I was you go take the time to try them both and plus some other brands as well. See how they contrast at different depths in the store. The more money you spend typically the better glass clarity you will get, but sometimes you can find cheaper binoculars that perform very well! Good luck and I hope you stay on contact? P.S. let me know what you end up buying and what you thought? Thank you!

      You got de research! End of story and my explanation is on point. If money isn’t an issue then buy the more expensive Binoculars because you get what you pay for but sometimes you can find that diamond in the rough for a great deal!

      I have hold them both in my hands. They both are exactly the same dimentions. 12x50 have a little bit narrower vision than 10x50 obviously, but very slightly. If you consider buying them, I suggest to get 10x50. Or buy 8x42 and 12x50. The difference in vision between 8 and 10 and between 10 and 12 is barely noticeable. But there is a huge viewing difference between 8 and 12.

      I’d say they are very comparable in quality, but I’m from Wisconsin! That’s why I support vortex when they go on sale! I’ve owned Nikons before and have had no issues.
