- In today's video I'll be trying the 'Ocean' puzzle from the 'Circle of Colors' round puzzle series from Ravensburger. I've been eyeing off these puzzles for a little while now and was pretty excited when I was able to get my hands on one! I've never seen a round puzzle from Ravensburger before so I'm super excited to piece together this fun and colourful puzzle!

This is the first round Ravensburger puzzle I’ve done and I have 3 others that I haven’t done yet. I loved it and want to eventually get the whole series. I to found that I struggle a bit with glare on this one. The one thing about the shiny pieces though, they do make the colours more vibrant. I also liked the odd shaped pieces, it’s a nice change. I wish all my favorite brands had more pieces like that, or like Cobble Hill puzzles. Oh, and I paid 24.99 Canadian for mine at a local puzzle and games store. I haven seen the desserts or the map one yet though. Thanks for the great videos!

I think you're right - even though it is a bit glary it does make the colours pop more than if it was just a matte finish... although I wish they wouldn't say it's anti-glare on the box! 😅
That price seems fairly reasonable I think for this puzzle. Hopefully when they eventually turn up here they won't cost too much more than that. 🙂
I definitely prefer matte or linen finishes, not glossy. I noticed inexpensive puzzles tend to be glossy so perhaps it’s a cheaper way to finish a puzzle. Glossy gets hard on the eyes especially at night under lights - and harder to video as well. We pay a lot for new puzzles here in NZ - luckily it’s my only guilty pleasure….apart from dark chocolate :)
Yes, me too - I definitely love a nice matte finish. Nothing worse than trying to see small details or colour differences when the pieces are glossy and shiny.
Where do you typically buy or get your puzzles from in NZ? Over here there are quite a few online stores that stock a lot of the major brands, but I still have to order some from Amazon or even directly from the overseas brand website which can get pretty pricey.
I think most of the bigger Ravensburger puzzles usually come with a poster - like, from 5000 pieces and upwards. But yeah, would be great if they start to include those in the rather standard sizes, too. It's a nice little extra the Circle of Color series does have.
Ahh ok I didn’t know that! The biggest I’ve done from them is 2000pc. I recently did the Cinderella 2000pc one and that would have been a great one to include a poster since the details were so tiny! 😅
I like these designs. maybe the ocean one is my least fave of the series and I still love the way they played with colours. I have six other puzzles on my immediate to buy list so I've got to save up some money to get them :)

I was really interested in your thoughts about the fit. I’ve found the 2022 ravensburger pieces fit noticeably snugger and seemed a wee bit less poufy/ flatter. Not less thick, just less roundedness at the top surface. Mine are all 1000 regular rectangle shaped puzzles. Overall, I very much liked them.
I still have yet to do any of my 2022 Ravensburger puzzles! 🙈😅 But I just compared the pieces of one to one of their puzzles from 2019 and I think you're right about the new ones being slightly less puffy on top. It's pretty subtle but the pieces do seem more flat - good observation! One of these days I'll have to actually do one and see what the fit is like. 😀
