Just to be clear, the Queen gave M the option to marry into the RF as a citizen, meaning she could carry on living the life she knew. She chose the titles and ran!! How people can still not see this is beyond me 🤦🏻♀️

The citizen is not in a fair fight with a representative of the Monarch. They cannot enter into a legal dispute which assumes an equality between the contesting parties. If the monarchy wishes to be considered as a private citizen then it immediately abandons any claims to be sovereign among the British people and the UK collapses. There will be no shortage of people willing to fill the hole that is left.

Keely Alsdorf - That is true, but she wanted the titles therefore she had to create this false narrative for leaving when she never had any intentions of staying the first place! She has been building up to her Diana moment with Oprah, by their own account, for the last three years.
i'm not going to hate on the monarch for this part. they have a system in place and i think we all know that system. so you can't walk into it and expect to have the same freedoms you had before entering it. there is a change. there is more duty and sensitivity. so i get it.
It’s not hating on the monarch as such, it’s their lack of speaking up and say “hey, stop picking on my Grandson’s Wife”.
There are systems in place, but would you believe it would be this horrible?

Monarchy in this era is useless anyway. Should've been abolished a long time ago. It's people giving them this sense of entitlement of being superior and calling us commoners while they live in luxury on the taxpayers' money.
Remember the engagement interview? She admitted Harry had a very serious discussion about life as a Royal. She was well informed. She was only a royal for about a minute before they handed in their notice. They did a total of about 72 Engagements for about an hour each. In return a 40 million dollar wedding, a million dollar wardrobe, a 2.4 million dollar cottage, titles (that they have used to make millions), made head of the commonwealth. What do they have to complain about?

@Helen R I think him being in the military and all his affiliations with it anchored his sense of duty. You can't serve your country without one and he certainly put his life on the line by doing so. His life was engaged with charity and honour and he was plenty busy. Invictus games? Chief of several regiments? You have a very idealized view of royal life if you think it's sitting around palaces. As, I imagine, did Megan. You don't knowingly join a unique family structure then refuse to accept any part of it.

I believe Harry thought that being the favorite they could live generally free of that. Hes always been very protected but that wasn't the case. My mom has been married for over 30 years and she tells me Meghan is too young to understand the gravity of what she just did. She's unknowingly hurting her husband and children. Wheather he wants to admit it or not he will one day subconsciously or conciously resent her for the rift between him and his family...thats why he did that James Cordon interview, an interview that has a completely different tone to the one she's giving now...They are both still in the honeymoon phase. That phase ends and then its just him and her and nobody else...I think the english call it a "rude awakening"

I agree! This happened in my own family. My uncle was taken away from the family because his wife gaslighted him the same way Meghan seems to do so for Harry. After 25 years of marriage he had enough though. As you said it’s not healthy for someone to lose all their family. They were there for him before she was. And he will miss them; that’s for sure. Just have to wait when.

When MM first joined RF I was so happy that a person of colour married into royalty and that it will be historic moment and change the future of the monarchy. She was doing well in the role. But few things were strange when she excluded her dad and didn't protect him from manipulating media. She didn't show some humbleness and appreciation for the privilege of her position. Most people wouldn't want to join the RF unless the were born into it as it is very strict and there is so much expectation but they don't deserve to be publicly attacked like this. I didn't see any racist media about her so the people saying this are just trying to make MM look discriminated. I am an Asian person myself and I only judge people on character.They should have chosen to be non working royals so they could have a celebrity life from the beginning. The RF is quite closely linked to UK government so ofcourse they have rules just like everyone in government who are not allowed to accept special treatment or commercial benefits. That visit was to strengthen ties between the countries and could have resulted in a free-trade agreement for Britain that would have massively benefited this country and improved the lives of everyone living here and we had an American just married into our Royal family! When you join the royal family you don’t speak as Meghan Markle you speak as the Duchess of Sussex. How does she still not get this?! By getting the title you relinquish your person you are no longer Meghan Markle you are Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Representative of the royal family. No wonder she failed her bar exam when applying for a government position. She doesn’t seem to be particularly intelligent on that front. She has street smarts but certainly has difficulty understanding certain constructs in particular in this case the construct of the British monarchy.
In addition while she may have lost the privilege of speaking as herself Meghan Markle, joining the royal family brings so many other privileges with it. How much more does this woman want? It seems she only would’ve been satisfied if she were queen of the world. Being Duchess of Sussex just didn’t cut it for her.
What I also find quite interesting is the fact that she is doing exactly what her father did, selling out her family to the media. The Apple clearly doesn’t fall far from the tree. I still can’t believe that Harry has never met any member of Megan‘s family except for her mother. The paparazzi debacle happened before the wedding. They were dating at least two years before the wedding. It’s hard to believe that in that entire time there was no single opportunity in which Harry could’ve met Thomas. It seems more likely that Megan put in a great deal of effort to ensure the Thomas Markle and Harry would never meet.
She really is quite a schemer this one.
