- 'About six inches between the two bowls, so there is just room,' were the words of England's Greg Harlow as his partner Nick Brett approached a shot.

Harlow's words were met with laughter by the audience at the World Indoor Bowls Championships. However, what followed was a stunning piece of skill, as Brett produced a spectacular shot sliding between the two red balls surrounding the jack.
The English duo went on to win the tie with Scotland's Paul Foster and Alex Marshall 10-6, 6-8, 2-1.

The title: World Indoor Championships, can anyone understand it?
Yeah, he meant to do that. ; )
I know nothing or ever heard about this sport. But i could tell, that was an amazing play.
Definitely agree
ave age of players over 70
@@donkykon2094 5 more years and I'll be ready for the big time!
Could you, Sherlock?
It's not a sport. It's an activity.
That crowd looks intense wouldn’t want to get on they bad side
unreal
El tiro imposible....
What sport is this?
Bowls
Hmm yes the green ball did go between the red ball.
The wondrous variety of activities that people become masterfully skilled at, never ceases to amaze me.
I’ve had the same thought many times before but never put it so eloquently.
@@gitlyndon Wow! Thanks!
So football players run around waving their arms and posing when they score a goal, and this dude performs a miracle and just nods? Amazing
All depends on the player. I know people who chase after it and shout then hug their partner 😂
Just like golf, this is a very focus-intensive, static-hearted game. These players cannot allow their heart-rate to increase by jumping and shouting in joy, as it would alter their aim and accuracy.
This man’s got class
amen I am a professional lawn bowl play and the other day I scored for goals for my team with one goal didn't even flinch [:
@@anasabutamata3689 I know plenty of players that carry on like pork chops. The adrenaline doesn't affect their accuracy. It does demonstrate a lack of class though
The best sporting moments are the ones that require no knowledge of the sport whatsoever to notice how amazing they truly are. This is one of those moments.
i dont even know what the heck this game is and i still dont understand how that was possible
I don't agree
One of the best sentences I’ve ever read
I hadn't heard of this sport yesterday, and now it's the top play on SportsCenter.
It was on wii sports
How have you not? Where do you live?
America.
@@Kerorofan1990 what a sheltered existence
@@AL3X2580 Wow what a cultured EuRoPeAn. Get over yourself, this is an obscure sport that nobody watches for a reason.
I used to work with this guy in England, RAF Alconbury. Plumbing Shop Lead! Well done Nick!
You should buy him a beer then!
And so begins the legend of Nick, may songs be sung about his legendary achievements
I just saw this shot happen, and I'm still not entirely convinced that it's possible!
That’s the best shot I’ve ever seen in any sport in my life! Incredible!👍
rob eberly it has to be the most incredibly accurate attempt at ANYTHING possible in sports. This was super cheat code ability. How the hell do you calculate this? Further more, execute it!!
hole-in-one in golf is also incredible but I guess it's more luck than skill
adler98br luck in golf on a hole in one would apply more if you didn’t know how to play and you got one but when you do have skill it does play more of a part in it than not. Players with skill don’t swing and hope. They have a reasonable expectation.
@@lorenzopearson110 That shot changed me mentally and physically. When the bowl ht that ball, the made me feel things I've only felt my neighbors house. Love
Golf: Am I a joke to you?
This made me ovulate, and I'm a man.
Charles C I am screaming lolllllll!!!!! You made my day!!
that is not unusual nowadays.
Laughing my head off! :-D
That's some fragile masculinity you've got there!
That’s sick dude!

I'm not sure that even if I was 3 feet away from the jack that I could have made that shot
@@mrbrianc That bowler guy was a smooth criminal! Like safecracker smooth! 3 dials, triple tumblers, single deadfall reset smooth.
I've seen an NFL player flip over another NFL player at full speed. This is far more impressive.
The level of skill needed to do that is incredible.
Makes me want to retire at 47 and join those groupies
Fantastic and compelling camera work as well! Perfect zoom rate on the roll.

Incredible precision and he is still very humble
Well I guess its time to watch hours of videos about this sport that i just learned is a thing
I do not know this game, but I recognize extreme athletic perfection. Wow..
Not athletic, but it was perfection
Lawn bowling
@@AdrionVolts yea what's the most athletic thing you've done? type this underhanded compliment?
@DudePerfect are you watching?
Wow! Best throw I've seen in the 10 minutes I've known about this sport
He is using aimbot hacks.
The matrix moderators will ban him soon!
"That was outrageous" indeed. I don't think I've ever seen a shot like that. Holy...
Who else came in here from twitter?
Me. Never heard of it. Someone say it was sorcery and of course video wouldn't play coz of copyright or whatever, so I had to come here and see the magic.
Blocked probably in every country except for the guy that put it on twitter....
yo where is this posted on twitter? please send it to me
Came from Twitter cos the video was not available for my country lol
Yes I came too. What's twitter?
I don't watch this sport but even I'm amazed by the accuracy in this play.
I don’t play bowls, but even I know that is a phenomenal shot
This shot was referenced on a pro wrestling podcast of all things, so I did a search for it, and that was... incredible.
which one?
Are there anti-wrestling podcasts?
@@davidhill3595 OSW Review, obviously.
@@markofsaltburn almost certainly yes
Hi all. If you like this take a look at World Bowls Tour on here to follow every match live. This is even more impressive when you consider he's about 28 metres away from the jack.
How are the floors leveled for events? I imagine they'd want precision close to that of a pool table.
Same way they level any floor or concrete pad. It's not like they're playing on a mat on top of your backyard lawn
It's the closest thing mere mortal will ever get to true level.
The balls aren't perfectly spherical. So if you roll it along the equator (where the circumference is largest), it will fall to one side or the other. You see this right at the end when it tipped over logo side up.
@@MrMaelstrom07 Correct. They're weighted.
@@MaggotDiggo1 Not weighted, just the shape of the bowl that makes it turn.
NO WAY!!! 😱
I'm a snooker player and can confirm: that was one of the most incredible and accurate shots in the entire sports ever.
I swim sometimes and I can confirm: that was one of the most incredible and accurate shots in the entire sports ever.
I'm a table tennis player and I can confirm the same
Some men can do a lot with six inches.
This was easily one of the ten most-incredible things I have seen in my life! Phenomenal!
Now THAT...was impressive! Such accuracy! Top notch 👍
There are fast greens in golf, then there's the light speed of the floor (idk the proper term) in indoor bowl. The touch and finesse needed is just incredible.
that's some Wile E. Coyote physics right there.
Genius.
Probably the best bowls shot you'll ever see
The average age of that crowd is about 83
Yes it is. But people are recognising it now . You have children playing bolws now the age between 7 up to 18. I been doing it since I was 7. When you are in a situation where you are 2 down and you can't see the Jack and you are setting up for you last bowl to see you have to have a very relax mind to figure out what you have to do to win you I've play it and hope for the best with this lad by the way what a bowl or strike.

The best bowls shot? No sir, this is one of the best things a human being has ever done.
It recorded 8.3 on the Richter Scale but as you say it is but ONE of the best we have seen.
All challenges in life sometimes require us to "thread the needle"
How you gonna be 1 of the 7 to downvote this, just cuz you never had a chance to Curve in your life?
Practiced that in his front room for two year. Wore out 5 carpets. 'til one day..........
A great display of a precisely weighted shot!
That is one of the most impressive things I've seen in the sports world.
That was incredible!!
This is like tiger woods masters chip in on the 16th hole back in 2005.
That bowl is wide is from Sainsbury's it holds the J flame

What an amazing shot .Got to be the shot of the Finals .Well done Nick Brett
Shot of the year!
Nah NOT ENOUGH SWAZ.
The average age of the audience is about 107.
That bowl is the equivalent of a nine-dart finish and a 147 break in snooker all rolled into one [pun intended].
You forgot the 7-10 split.
Great shot
XFL Instagram post brought me here. This was skillful as hell. I’m interested in this sport now.
It's just curling but with 3 differences
· No ice
· No scrubbing
· The target isn't painted but is that small superlight ball
*Harlow bowls the most technical indoor championship bowl of his life

It wasn't Harlow....it was Brett.
Incredible!! Bowls is my favorite thing to watch and I am in Pennsylvania, USA. Hypnotic.
still not a sport but kinda impressive.
0:09 the average age is stretching just stretching over 147
For anyone who thinks that lawn bowls is an easy, elderly person's sport ... a bowl like that takes incredible skill and judgment.
Holy smokes.
Thank you for this, I sent it to my kids!
What is this, curling without ice?
Hi thomas
Hi joe. What a coincidence to meet here, at the site of the greatest sporting moment in the history of greatest sporting moments
"Ridiculous!" "Outrageous!"
Sounds like the commentators had their money on the team with the maroon bowls.
Ridiculous seriously man
R ur freaking fr dude
This is the bowls equivalent of Maradona's solo goal against England
It's also like his first goal - as a hand is used.
A shot to match his shirt

"The harder I train, the luckier I get"
Lee Traveno?
Shouldn't balls be a uniform weight all around? That was obviously weighted to one side.
I think I remember this from my grandparents trying to teach me as a kid, there's a circle on each side of the ball and the larger circle indicates the heavier side. It's an intentional part of the sport
The weighted bowl is how it goes round corners. Judging the speed and angle of the bowl as it's released allows these extraordinary plays.
I heard those GILFs 00:09 were throwing their undies at him afterwards.
Yeh young magaret loves getting active at age 116
Yeah their moldy diapers
I want the "THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE" audio dubbed over that shot.
This is the first time I've ever seen anything in this sport but I'll say this.
That shot was surgery
Incredible! Just incredible, I don't even know that this sport exists but awestruck by this short video.
I don't know what this is but I need more.
You really dont
WHAT?!
I know I can t be liieeve it eether
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!??
That's not the only carpet he showed who's boss that day.
When you think you have seen it all, then this happens.😲😲😲 outrageous.
Quite a few of my friends in the 70 to 90 year old bracket play this very sociable sport. The big problem is you
have trouble bending down. BUT it is something you overcome. Anyway with heart failure and cancer it's easier than
running marathons !! Playing WALKING football or what you call soccer in the USA is an alternative !!
Meanwhile there is a while documentary explaining how balls curve in football.
That man would've been burned for witchcraft a few centuries ago.
Ha! That's got nothing on lawn bowling, the most dangerous game on the planet! Check the fatalities out if you don't believe it...
I have no idea why youtube recommended me this video. Unless Google knows that my coworker of 5 years likes to play this game. But why now?
Not only did he get 1st shot he also got a second. I only play shortmat and I still couldn't ever play a shot like that. Although shortmat jacks are heavier and the jack wouldn't have reached for a second shot.
This is the kind of shot which in less enlightened the times could get you burned at the stake for practicing witchcraft!
Boom!! That's a bullseye.
BOOM, HIS METAL HIP FROM 1980 HAS FINALLY GAVE WAY. THAT'S THE PRICE YOU PAY, TO BOWL THE BEAUTIFUL WAY.
what even is this sport?
Bowling or bowls. It's a English/euro thing
Who left the yellow ping pong ball on the pool table? And what's with the Christmas balls?! 🏓 🎱🎄
I am not a bowls fan, in fact its something I've never watched, and I have no idea why it popped up in my recommended list. I have to say though, that was quite amazing accuracy any way you slice it.
Now there's a man who knows how to handle his balls in public.
I'll show myself out.
