I wish money wasn't such a taboo subject. These types of videos are interesting and not just because I'm a nosy person. 😅😂😂
Louis.13 it’s actually more advantageous for workers to share their salaries as it pushes up the pay for everyone! I’m an advocate for requiring companies to post salaries for all their employees even if it is uncomfortable at first
lol im a nosy person too.
I think it's taboo because people don't talk about money because they are bad with it and don't want to be judged. Also, people don't realize where their money should be going and what they should be striving for. I more often wonder what someone does for a living to earn such a salary so i could possible strive for that in my future. not everyone thinks like, but it's a good place to start.
😂 same
I think by money being a taboo subject we’ve made it okay to not go after it in the United States, because the moment someone is money driven they are labeled as being greedy
Can we see someone that makes $500K to $1mil. a year and talk about how much they make after taxes.
This comment read my mind😅
tightpantsJONAS -40% basically
As much as I complain about being poor, having to pay that much in taxes seems like a ripoff too
@@nightfighter7452 I would not mind paying that much in taxes if I got universal healthcare and affordable education but in America they don't even get that
* It would be better if politicians didn’t line their pockets with it too.
I wanna see someone’s financial story when they have a big family to pay for
romana vasyleha Check out the RUclips channel "Penniesintopearls", you might like her monthly budget reports! 😊
It seems like all the people they choose are single with no kids because their bills never include a lot of groceries
Yes❗️
Newsflash, more people are opting to not have kids. Especially in big cities where it's expensive to do so.
romana vasyleha me and my husband have 3 kids and our grocery bill is at least $1,000 a month if not more and that's just the food. If we go out to eat it's always pushing $100. We went to McDonald's yesterday and spent around $50
She is very responsible with her money. This is the most impressive one I’ve seen. And she paid $90,000 out of pocket for a down payment on a house 👍🏾👍🏾
MsMockingbird06 unfortunately she’s paid $90,000 for a co-op. Something she will never fully owned.
Studio49
You're right. I hate that about co-ops. They are super selective and when you're ready to sell, you have to pay a small percentage to the board.
in nyc probably get a good bargain in expensi ve areas
didn't she say she lives in an apartment? at least she's a partial owner.
Casper Gomez It is possible if you know people
I wanna see someone who makes like 60k a yr+, with college debt and ACTUALLY paying it down.
Thats me! I just graduated last December, I make 73k before taxes; plus yearly bonuses, profit sharing, and 100% 401k match. I have 47k in student debt(my job pays the interest each month as benefit), 20k car debt. and 8k in credit card debt. My bf who lives in a different state pays my utilities. I live on my own and do pay rent, insurance etc.
Hope that helps. All in all I save about 27$ a month after all my expenses are paid😭
@@topaznora2055 what job is that ?
Topaz Nora you must live in a high cost of living state, because I make about 13k less, with similar expenses with 10k in credit card debt, 50k car lease, 45k in student loan debt, pay all my utilities and rent (live by myself), and still able to put about $500 a month away for savings. Not to mention that I do not live paycheck to paycheck, and go on about 2-3 vacations a year, fully paid for by myself.
I understand! I make about $60,000 and it’s basically gone by the time bills are paid.
Isn’t there a video of a lady making $40k while paying off debt?
I love these videos, she seems to handle her money really well
Apparently not her weight though lol
@patrick, shes okay tbh, I'd say around average for an American
@@oliviao2874 what??? I really doubt that, a good hunk of americans are overweight but thats not average anywhere
shes nowhere near american average lmao
her retirement savings :(
She said she switches jobs every 18 months and I screamed in delight! You have to bounce around to move up.
That's something I'm considering, lol. It's easy to get comfortable.
I'm glad there are people in the world that think like you. It's TRUE.
Sydney Smith Not just move up, but get paid more. Although every 18 months seems like a short amount of time.
dreindenver oh heck yeah, by move up I meant move up FINANCIALLY. & I do move jobs between 18-24 months but it’s also because I get bored. I didn’t initially move around so much strictly for money but it’s become a plus financially
Ooooo what do you do for a living?
Her salary is goals😍😍😍
chinyere comfort x mm😆😁🤡🤯🤯😍😆😳
My goal is 20x that
Hugh Mungus no body asked
Really??
Personally, I don’t think it’s a lot, and if she ever has kids it’s gonna seem like nothing.
Why is no one talking about these Emmy's???
Quibble S yes!? I need to research her job I don't think I know what it means
I'm fairly certain she's the head of communications and media relations for a top production company. Therefore, she probably assists in PR for whatever the company produces (TV shows or movies) or handles media outreach for these projects.
@@JuliannaDimino she wouldn't be making so little if she was
John Smith so little
Quibble S I agree, she’s making too less if she’s winning emmys
If we are being honest, her reimbursement expenses should be left out of this breakdown. Gives a skewed view.
Meg Truett I agree!
It's really a good practice have separate credit cards for personal vs. business expenses.
I don't know why she doesn't do that.
i dont know why the company doesnt just give her a card..
And she needs a separate card just for business expenses. Otherwise great job
Hi, I'd like to suggest something for future videos. The sound volume goes up and down between segments and cuts and it would improve the video if the volume stayed the same throughout. I had to adjust the volume at least 5 times. Thank you for being open to constructive criticism! I love this channel!
Thanks for your feedback!
I think it's probably because she had to do a voice over or re record some audio
The background music is distracting with the high notes sparkling sounds.
"it's where I keep my emmys" lmao love her.
That savings account is goals AF
So true! Im on my way to $20k, stop by my channel
I have more than that in my savings and I make a fraction of her yearly salary
@@gphillimo she also spends money like crazy!!
@@gphillimo Same here! This lady could save a lot more!
She doesn't have much in her retirement though
HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS & MEDIA RELATIONS!!! thats a big job. You go girl!
how does you guys have to pay so much taxes but the country couldnt afford free health and education for the people.
The U.S government releases what they spend to the public. We spend the most on military.
Money for war, but can’t feed the poor- Tupac
well its not the governments job to provide health care for you thats your job
@@woods8523 we can say that about almost anything. Roads police school firefighters etc. The only developed nation that doesn't have universal healthcare. People have to start GoFundMe for cancer treatment so they don't go bankrupt. SAD!!!!
Corruption
Love the series. Was wondering if you can do a European version as well? Would be nice to see how people spend their money in other parts of the world.
London and New York are too similar for this situation, the video would be 90% the same as this
BIG2hats it really wouldnt
Yeah, just don't do a high flying London salary. Doesn't apply to basically anywhere else in the UK or Europe. the tax rates aren't even similar.
Glamour UK has their own RUclips channel. They might have a similar series.
Can we get somebody who’s living alone, paying student debt, and rent on their own. I don’t want to see nobody living with boyfriends and partners.
Lol
I LOVE this series!!! It’s so fascinating
Idk why but this was so helpful to see
She's really doing well with her salary💵 with the portion she put in her bank account for her future.
What I also like is the way how she have fun now by managing her money yet have fun the way she wants like when she's in a city that she never been before she eats local food I find that very cool and when I do get her type of salary i hope to do the same. Salary Goal👌
If you’re going college and not doing STEM, you will never make this salary. And I am saying this because I am salty
I mean, her job is in media and comm in a HCOLA; I think you could make the same w/ the same background in an equally high cost of living area.
Yeah, she saves 86,000 annually and spends 54,000
Shes got a job in media though? xD
I'm in STEM and I will never make this salary. Unless you do a masters/phd/MD and have 30 years working experience it's not very realistic.
Bring someone who makes 20k per year
Hi. Lol
I volunteer 😂👋
Hua Fujoshi you mean a high school senior?
victoria hale lol I dont know any high school senior earning 20000 a year. Most working High Schoolers make a couple thousand but 20?
video would be 2 mins long haha
Would love to see how a guy spends his income in comparison to a woman's
We spend less lol
McDonalds, McDonalds, 7-11, Bestbuy, McDonalds, McDonalds, Gas, Dive Bar, pretty much it’s that for me.
franwex haha that honestly it! I have a friend how makes around 80k a year and that is 100% how he spends it, he also buys a lot of beer
Depends on which hobby he is into
Thunder down under $500
I love these videos so much honestly please don’t stop with these type of videos
I love watching these vlogs. They’ve made me become more aware of my finances and how to correctly handle money a bit more. 🙌🏾
Glamour make more of these videos! I love them😩
It's interesting how none of these salary breakdowns include health insurance or medical expenses.
chibi168 wonder if the salary amount is what they make after insurance and medical expenses? 🤔
Their job provides it probably
Seeing someone in my field of interest as I sit in my dorm in my junior year of college, that lives in NYC where I live with my family and wanna continue to live in as I get older and makes that much money, gives me so much hope.
Good luck! Stop by channel where I share my budget, etc. Also living in NYC
This series is actually SO useful!
She’s awesome and I want to be just like that
You wanna be fat?
@ctguitarguy ur a smart guy
Morgan Sinclair wtf your just jealous cause she is making 140k
Only real difference between her and the 43k girl is that she can afford to use her money lavishly. Other than that they both spend money like crazy.
Ashley ASHLEYM Yeah watching their spending habits was making me cringe. They seem to spend a heck of a lot of money!
Yea, she makes 140,000 a year but only has 2500 a month to spend? ridiculous.
@@jarrellidk prob cause of taxes + the savings the puts away. It adds up
tepig37 it was in the video, her personal savings is 1600 a month.
I’m gonna disagree. The other woman had many expenses she didn’t remember. She had withdrawals she didn’t recall and bills where she questions why they’re there. I was honestly concerned that she might’ve been a victim of fraud. She should have the alerts sent to her phone.
Girl, you´ve got it covered. Really nice job done!
This is such an interesting series and please always continue to do these!
She sounds so kind. ❤️
Btw does anyone else get highly motivated to grind when you see these women living the financial life you crave. My ultimate goal is financial independence. All my life I’ve had to rely on people financially and it’s constantly put a burden on my self esteem and all I crave is to be able to support myself and my lifestyle comfortably while being able to save and say I did that! Love these videos glamour!!!
Same here
YAASSS. These are so great and motivating. Personally my starting salary goal would be $60-75k in California after I complete my masters if I don’t get a job with that then I will complete a phD and get a year or two’s of teaching experience and aim for $85k as starting salary. Hopefully one day my salary will be like hers in my 30s or 40s lol
yesss im rooting for you! Saloni Gilbert
Look into Choose FI
Its really nice to hear “I’m definitely the breadwinner” or “I provide for my house”
I love these videos! Keep them coming!
DUDE. I’m a stripper and I think this would be so interesting to see how girls in that industry spend & save. Realistically most girls probably wouldn’t participate because of taxes, but it’s a similar income range filled with irresponsible people lol
What? Yall making 100k??? 😲
How does one become a stripper? 😅 Im 5'7 and 120lbs. Will i need to gain more weigh?
5:25 she got tims, bless. 🇨🇦
WAY BETTER THAN THE WOMAN WITH 40K SALARY AND 60K IN DEBT
Yeah, but the ones with debt are realistic since the personal debt in the US is at 13 trillion so I think most people probably carry some debt. It sounds like she was in the hole at one point and worked it out and not she's in the positive.
If most of those are student loans then I don’t think she really had a choice but to go into debt.
You must not know anyone that went to school...
A Ni everyone makes a choice to go into debt. 60k in student loans with a 40k salary is just dumb
That girl had me shook 😱😱😰😰
These videos are awesome, for some reason people are incredibly uncomfortable discussing finances in detail but it’s really a great way to learn better spending habits and methods of income.
I really love these salary videos
more of these, they're so interesting
Thank you for being open about money and spending.
Stop by channel where I share my budget and spending. Hope to see you there.
i love this series, keep it up
Man I feel like her partner pays and does nothing.
That's the main thing that caught my attention. It's one thing for her to be the breadwinner, but she also does the shopping, cooking, fixes things around the house, etc. (except laundry). She's got the worst of both worlds, talking about "it's not 1950 anymore" :/
Well if she's in a better financial situation, I don't see anything wrong with that. Now, with her doing cooking, shopping and the housework, we don't know if she always does that. We also don't know his working hours. We shouldn't judge really, it's like we got all the information about her life based on this.
And he asked her to buy a comic book for him on a trip. 😂
Well, people in a relationship bring value how they can.
She brings little with physical healthly attraction. Wealth is a value to bring to the table. I would say not a great one to bring to the table, but it happens frequently.
The guys must bring physical attraction? Not necessarily. Women value emotional strength over physical attractiveness when men value physical attraction over intelligence/emotional strength.
if her partner does nothing why would he be her partner? he obviously has to give her something that she values, and because she can make money on her own maybe she needs something else. that being said, maybe everyone has something they can give and just because society (and you) think he doesn't have anything worthwhile doesn't mean he's not worth something to someone.
I love this series! I would love to see an episode with someone on public assistance. Folks think they get fat checks every month, and it would be great to see that myth get shattered!
I love this series!!!
Love these!!! More please
Love this series. Try different cities.
Glamour Magazine isn't aware of the existence of other cities
@ 5:09 shout out to Halifax, NS! 🇨🇦
rt on her willys comment!!
Major props!
I loved her bit about financial independence, and how she saved for her own co-op.
i love these videos. More please!
I love how she spends lavishly knowing her job reimburses her like for all the alcohol and uber rides.
I really wanna know who this lady is.
Why?
yea if you want to be so mysterious don't tell us your occupation at all.. says she's on TV yet won't show her face.. has everyone going wild.
@@JakeDrives1 A lot of times people who are on TV have contracts that only their network is allowed to show their face. Like no RUclips, etc.
This was fantastic - in Halifax where I grew up, in Ottawa where I live now. Totally relatable :) And she is spot on with the food recs ;)
This is so interesting. I feel like a lot of people don't like talking about how much they make, but it's cool to see where different people's money goes. If you read this comment, you rock! I hope you have a great day.
Change the location
Tired of it always being New York
peaches yeah but they should try to change the location
@@hyomin99 I think it too. With that said, but it would be helpful for others to see how far a dollar stretches in other areas as well as what the "higher salaries" are.
I need her to help me get a job with her.
I love these series!
Was so nice seeing the Canadian restaurants we love here eh?! Good food times!!
"I wanna give him SOME credit" wow
What's up with the weird cuts and inconsistent audio?
Probably to cut out the times when she would say "uh" or "um" or they had to do multiple takes for when she messed up what she was saying
this is best one i’ve seen yet she the only one who knows the difference between needs and wants
I LOVE these!
I wish you would do this with a minimum wage employee who’s in school. Might be boring and 5 minutes but at least it’s realistic
Omg that’s so cool she went to the bicycle thief and durty Nelly’s!
so i'm noticing that everyone who has been interviewed have a very diverse range in salaries and are all very good at budgeting. All of them seem happy and despite the different salaries, they usually spend 2-3 k on themselves. this just shows that a higher salary doesn't generally mean a happier life, just more financial security.
So good, feeling inspired 🙏🙏
I really wish we'd stop going based on pre-tax salary, that's so stupid. This woman has a $90,000 salary, not a $140,000 salary.
Everyone talks in terms of gross salary mate
live in ottawa and so exciting to see that she was able to stop at some of my favorite places like Suzy Q and also try Obama Cookies while she was here!!
Love these videos
You go girl!!!! Keep making that money! !!
My mom is making 1400 a month with 7 kids, please show a big family, because people just don't understand.
Stop having big families you can’t afford
Yes, props to her. My brother says our Mom knew how to stretch a dollar.
@@legendarycondor we had plenty of money then my parents divorced quit making assumptions. You're quite the example showing that people don't understand.
big shout outs to the badass women that are out there getting it done for themselves ✊🏽✊🏽
"It's where I keep my Emmy's" goals!
I love this series so much! She can save 3k/month whew girl, thats love.
Lot's of people on here that have never had a salary like this and will never have a salary like this with some strong old opinions about her partner, her savings and her spending. She looks like she is doing just fine to me.
Love this series but I wish it gave info on their college degrees.
That bar tab statement is hilarious 😂
These are so interesting. Would love to see Glamour do this for someone who is self-employed.
Wow that’s amazing
can we get a recent college grad making $ 60 - 70k, living on their own, in nyc? cuz that's gonna be me next year and i need to be ready lmao
Franchesca Pierre shits gonna be tight but you'll make it
bless xo you'll make it too
You'll be totally fine on that as long as you're willing to live in a reasonable apartment. Even if you spend like $2000k in rent you'll still have a ton left over. Things might get tight if you try to raise a family, but as a single that's more than enough.
yeah it'll just be me :) and (hopefully) later on my bf will join me after he graduates so it'll help rent ^-^ tyyy
I love these videos!!!!!!
i'm living for these Ottawa shoutouts but omg her french! :P
Yes way better than money diaries!!!!
Where do I find a job that reimburses my alcohol consumption?
Media on publisher side
Notice when they were zooming in you can see her paying her credit card bill periodically before the statement balance. Smart woman.
We love a reliant and empowered queen.
I'd really love to see a single mom with 2+ kids on 25k or less!
Don't have kids
They have one that 20,000 dollar salary video
That’ll be very bad planning
There's a video about a McDonald's worker on RUclips, google it.
They're basically homeless
So... What exactly does the partner do? She's the breadwinner, she manages the household, she does all the heavy lifting, she buys groceries, he only does the laundry, plus she has to buy him comic books?? I mean, I guess if she's happy but I'd rather date a real man that can hold his own and not a man-child, but hey, that least she's not living in 1955. 🙄🙄🙄
Valerie H I was thinking the same thing. I'm the breadwinner and you can't even buy paper towels??
Valerie H IKR? And she buys his clothes and does the housework?
She's so far off the beauty standard, that I'm sure some brutal compromises had to be made.
She's not attractive, and her husband is probably a model or something.
He serves that D
👏 you are goals
Thank you for sharing it ~*
I feel sooo nosey but man. Goals
I love these honest personal finance and budget profiles. She isn’t saving enough. Two pensions TBD shouldn’t be allowed. We want all details. More of these please!!!!!!!!
