Momenteel speel ik dit lied elke dag. soms gaat dat zo met een lied. Maar zou onze eerstel liefde niet elke dag hersteld moeten worden? Ben zo dankbaar voor dit lied, dat ook door Lydia, en Marcel zo met volle overtuiging gezongen en beleefd wordt en zulke mooie begeieiding van de muziek.

Thank you Marcel and Lydia for redoing this beautiful song! I love it: the melody, the lyrics, and I love you guys! It sounds better than the first recording. Actually this is a prayer, an answer to God’s admonition in Revelation 2:4 “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love”; a prayer that we all need to pray: Lord, restore my first love... I wish you would do this song in English also.

Here's the passage from Revelation that, I believe inspired this song:
Revelation 2:1-6, 7
1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write: These things says He that holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2 I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and how you cannot bear them which are evil: and you have tried those which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars:
3 And have borne, and have patience, and for my name's sake have labored, and have not fainted.
4 Nevertheless, I have something against you; because YOU HAVE LEFT YOUR FIRST LOVE.
5 Remember therefore from where you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of its place; except, you repent.
7 He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches: to him that overcomes, will I give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.
